Please use this space to build and discuss your characters. Once you are all done, we will move to Gameplay. It is my fervent hope that play will begin on Monday at the latest, but I don't want to rush anyone.
Please nominate a second for yourself, I hate to GMNPC characters because I know what is happening, and in theory you do not. On the off chance 4 of 6 have reported in, and a good amount of time has passed, your second will post an action for you.
Bold is said out loud
blue sais out of character
Italics is thought
Bold italics is telepathic communication (Shouldn't be an issue at level 1)
below the text input box, you will find a button next to
How to format your text [show]
Clicking on that will show you how to use the above referenced styles, if you do not already know.
I recommend using the Advice forum if you have specific questions about a build.
Double check the PRD, not the SRD for information! The SRD is often wrong!
I own the following books:
Advanced Players Guide, Advanced Race Guide, Adventurer's Armory, Animal Archive, Bestiary 1, 2, and 3, Blood of Angels, Blood of Fiends, Blood of the Night, Champions of Purity, Chronicles of the Righteous, Core Rulebook, Dawn of the Scarlet Sun, Dawn of the Scarlet sSun, Elves of Golarion, Faiths of Balance, Faiths of Corruption, Faiths of Purity, Fey Revisited, Gnomes of Golarion, Goblins of Golarion, Halflings of Golarion, Humans of Golarion, Inner Sea Primer, Inner Sea World Guide, Knights of the Inner Sea, NPC Codex, Orcs of Golarion, People of the North, Pirates of the Inner Sea, Seeker of Secrets, Ultimate Campaign, Ultimate Equipment, and Ultimate MAgic.
It takes a LONG time to track down a feat, ability, spell, etc without atleast a vague citation. So, if you are doing something odd, please either link to the PRD, (See URL in the How to format text) or at the very least, spoiler what book I should look in.
I have 3 Folios, I will share them with those who do not have folios or tee shirts. First come, first served. Just announce the use, and take the re-roll. Remember! Only one per character per session.
Feel free to ask questions of me here as well.
Finally! I have all the books above, I read all the books above, I read the PFS discussion forum on a regular basis, I have played these missions before, and I have pre read these missions, and I will still be wrong on a regular basis! If I do something wrong, misinterpret a rule, apply the wrong condition, etc. correct me. I don't take offense at being wrong. I like to be told when I am wrong, it is how I improve. All I ask is that you provide a link, or citation so I can double check anything.
Did I forget anything? Remember to watch the Seven Samurai!!!

Shotgun a folio reroll!
The main thing I think I should notify you of is my burning hands damage, since it's what a good portion of my character is built around.
The tattooed sorcerer gives me the varisian tattoo (called mage tattoo on the prd for some odd reason, but the book calls it varisian tattoo) feat, which bumps all my spells of a school by 1 caster level. I chose Evocation.
Precocious spellcaster is a Regional Trait that gives me +1 caster level on a single spell.
Gifted adept is a Magic Trait that gives me a +1 caster level on a single spell as well. The increases are un-typed (i.e. stack). I chose burning hands for both traits for a total caster level of +4.
Finally, the Draconic bloodline increases the damage of fire spells I cast by 1 per damage die rolled, bringing me to a 4d4+4 damage burning hands, save at dc16 for half, 5 times a day. =)
Oh and I assume that Ralph and I will second each other.

Oh and I assume that Ralph and I will second each other.
Sounds good. But feel free to GMNPC to move things along if we take too long to respond. That said, the need should not arise too often, if at all.

Akinra, I just looked at the faction mission. Do any of my knowledge skills give me any idea of what might be involved in
knowledge Arcana: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (8) + 9 = 17
knowledge Local: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (18) + 9 = 27
knowledge Nature: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (16) + 9 = 25
knowledge Religion: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (20) + 9 = 29

By Rovagug’s claws what evil is this?
[blue]By Rovagug’s claws what evil is this?[/blue]
Kyra studies the faces of her audience as she multi-tasks learning the Tea ceremony of 1000 sugar cubes
I own a T-Shirt and a Folio, but my luck is very poor, I'll try to Role-Play more than Roll-Play.
Bluff: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 51d6 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7
Perform-Interpretive Dance Using Shadow Puppets and Flame: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 2 = 161d6 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5
I don't know the code for Blue?

![]() |

I'll try to Role-Play more than Roll-Play.
As the famous Treantmonk once said, the two are not mutually exclusive. =)
The code for blue is 'ooc'.

Fox- I'd show you about thirty module faction missions so you can get the jist of your teams goals. I went Cheliax becuase the leader sounds "frisky". I have the Faction Guide with new traits that might have you lean one way or another, but Pregens are assumed Grand Lodge.
Shadow Lodge and Lantern Lodge are about two weeks from being cancelled, but you can get a stat bump if you play the right mods before a certain date.
Always think sabotage and sometimes if the other team figures out at least two of the groups' missions they win. This table won't screw you but it is legal. Roll a die? Anti-slavery might matter to you, Evil is not really allowed in PFS but Cheliax/Scarni/Shadow Lodge are run by evil aligned people assigning missions. The earlier seasons only had 5 factions so with a conversion chart you'ld be like my Paladin's not doing this.
If you are Osirin and you die you can be brought back with a title, The Risin, like Thundercats, Mumbra the Everliving. One game Cheliax needed the pens from a kit and the Andorians needed the writs contained inside, we split the cashe and won, but in places in Florida, people think Cheliax is the most diabolical organization but really Scarni is. Grand Boring- JelliAxe...it's all about your mood, make a variety of characters with whatever justification. Silver Lodge is one of the hardest to play "Extreme Good All of the Time!"

I'm on CST, I should be sound asleep (3:31am) but I've been having trouble this week. I believe in table order so if anyone needs me to I will set the completely flexible Standard Operating Procedure marching order with me first Monk and Gunslinger second rank then the spellcasters followed by Player #6? My initiative and Stealth will be laughable. My Modas Operadus is to redeem the redeemable, but FYI if they are killing puppies and slapping babies, watching college basketball, I'm killing everyone in the temple, the room, the orphanage (First Steps)LOL.
If I live past Game One, I can get that Wand of Cure Lt Wounds. Actually that's wrong, I can use all of your wands of cure lt. wounds (50 charges to start)
If we are in a graveyard I'll channel, if we have men or ladies down I'll channel. I can heal a bit, but I will be constantly touching everyone for Guideance. Call out that you need healing so that whoever is running my character they will know to dedicate their efforts to just that.
So are we letting enemies go, killing everyone, tying people up? We need rope and someone with a decent CMB.
Are we all mounted? The spellcasters should turn invisible, but if we have potions scene one we should equip each spellcaster ASAP, if we lose one to a crossbow bolt crit, I'm withdrawing to bring that one up, I roll low guys for real. I figure, I'll die first, and often, but if you guys need bait, I will let my faith guide me.
Let's Discuss people, without a Thief the trapfinding will be painful. I'm cool with that, but in most modules we force march without rest, sleep in our armor so plan the watches, never use earplugs, never thunderstone the badguy spellcasters, forget about a scroll of haste, universal solvent, "Everyone" with a long spear or holy water.
I have like 6 gps I think, the rich level ones should be on a quest for the CLW wand. Extra knotted rope, walls and doors shutdown parties all of the time. Swarms seems handled but cold weather gear is 8gps I believe. We need nature and survival.

![]() |

Most pathfinders I've seen are not mounted, with only 1 exception and he was a cavalier.
Traps...well, I've found that often there isn't a need. Traps are not that plentiful, and when they are there half the time there isn't time to search for them. We'll be fine without a trapfinder. Healing, I can help with in a pinch with infernal healing.

![]() |

This is ShadowyFox's gunslinger. Still making the decision on faction.
Elven Reflexes is a racial that gives +2 on Initiative checks.
Killer is a combat trait. You deal an amount of additional damage equal to your weapon's critical hit modifier when you score a successful critical hit with a weapon; this additional damage is added to the final total, and is not multiplied by the critical hit multiple itself. This extra damage is a trait bonus.
This is definitely gonna be fun. :)

![]() |

So we've got a sorcerer, a wizard, a cleric, a gunslinger, and potentially a monk and a fighter (they have not been responding?). Quite a good group.
I am mindful though that Amartinez and Corwin have not responded since their expression of interest. I've had at least 2 PbPs fall apart because we waited on people who said they were gonna play then went off to do other things, and would like to avoid that with this game. If we don't hear from either in the next 6 hours, then since we have the minimum 4 in the room, we might want to kick off and the other 2 can join in when they arrive?

![]() |

Yep, that is good to go with me. Those that have been invited can show or no show. As long as we have and keep 4, we will progress. Those who are late will be deemed to be keeping silent until after the first two parts. After that, they will have missed to much to get credit. I will stall a little so they have until Monday, without slowing everyone else down too much.

![]() |

Thanks for letting us know, nonetheless. =)
I'm going out shortly, but here are what actions I'll take in absentio.
Exploration: I'm happy to handle all talky-matters and will take 10 on all perceptions checks when able to. Will probably take 10 on the talky matters too.
Fighting: spam acid splash (using acid flask as a focus for 1d3+1 damage), will reserve my first level spells unless I state otherwise, or it's something that Ralph identifies as really nasty (like that Yeti).

![]() |

Gameplay is up for those not aware, head on over so I can get a count. If we are short by only one, per PFS rules, I will interject a Pre-Gen as an NPC.

![]() |

My faction mission was super blurry, is there a way to enlarge the image? My enlarge made it Big and Blurry.
I apologize about the Shrine ramble, I thought it was a religion check so I "freestyled". When the Dragon Mage said the Wizard was at (plus)+double digits for Religion, I thought of the old Steve Martin joke reaction ..."Well..Excu-uuuuuse Me". No, I am joking, but being really impressive at level one these guys are beyond skill masters. Imagine level two?
I want to be good for the party's sake.
I felt flattered that the Wizard appeared to need me for a check he did not have. So I jumped at it.
I thought we were starting Monday so I played in real life today, and Sunday I have two games.
I will leave at 10:30am and return about 7:30-8:00 pm, If this was a homegame Sunday it be about 11:30pm return. We are bound to the Gamestore Hours typically.
Wednesday I'm not sure when the folks are playing but I might do a 12 noon to 5 game then a 5-8pm game.
When the GM or anyone else "autos" me, I'll model my posts from then on.
For example when Asher was posting Ham rolls so was I it was funny.

kk
Grand Lodge:
Loyal Pathfinder,
It is good to see the Pathfinders of the Inner Sea working together with the Pathfinders of Tian Xia.
Though the task assigned to you by Venture-Captain Amara Li is, and should be, your primary concern during this endeavor, I do have an additional request. Our knowledge of the Wall of Heaven is scant at best. On your journey, be observant for items or clues that may be of value to the Society—maps or the locations of sites of interest would be of the greatest use; be they your own recordings or the recordings of another trusted source.

Hard-Cor
The GM asked is to go to the Class blank in your profile and post your stats like this:
Half Elf Class [|] Gunslinger 1 | HP:13 | AC: 16/ FF 13/ T 13 | Fort: +4 Ref: +5 Will: +2 | Perception: +7 | Init: +5 [|]
It will show under your name to make her job easier I'll bet.
But anyways, welcome to the Greatest Game Ever!!!!

FYI-
A gaze special attack takes effect when foes look at the attacking creature’s eyes. The attack can have any sort of effect; petrification, death, and charm are common. The typical range is 30 feet, but check the creature's entry for details. The type of saving throw for a gaze attack varies, but it is usually a Will or Fortitude save (DC 10 + 1/2 gazing creature’s racial HD + gazing creature’s Cha modifier; the exact DC is given in the creature’s text). A successful saving throw negates the effect. A monster’s gaze attack is described in abbreviated form in its description. Each opponent within range of a gaze attack must attempt a saving throw each round at the beginning of his or her turn in the initiative order. Only looking directly at a creature with a gaze attack leaves an opponent vulnerable. Opponents can avoid the need to make the saving throw by not looking at the creature, in one of two ways.
Averting Eyes: The opponent avoids looking at the creature’s face, instead looking at its body, watching its shadow, tracking it in a reflective surface, etc. Each round, the opponent has a 50% chance to avoid having to make a saving throw against the gaze attack. The creature with the gaze attack, however, gains concealment against that opponent.
Wearing a Blindfold: The foe cannot see the creature at all (also possible to achieve by turning one's back on the creature or shutting one's eyes). The creature with the gaze attack gains total concealment against the opponent.
A creature with a gaze attack can actively gaze as an attack action by choosing a target within range. That opponent must attempt a saving throw but can try to avoid this as described above. Thus, it is possible for an opponent to save against a creature’s gaze twice during the same round, once before the opponent’s action and once during the creature’s turn.
Gaze attacks can affect ethereal opponents. A creature is immune to gaze attacks of others of its kind unless otherwise noted. Allies of a creature with a gaze attack might be affected. All the creature's allies are considered to be averting their eyes from the creature with the gaze attack, and have a 50% chance to not need to make a saving throw against the gaze attack each round. The creature can also veil its eyes, thus negating its gaze ability.

I'm back, though I need to head out again in about an hour. I'm in Singapore and Exiel is in Australia, so we may be on slightly different time zones, but I am confident we will both chime in whenever we are able, including at work (though not whilst we are asleep for obvious reasons =p).
Kyra, I have knowledge arcana, religion, nature and local covered. But if you have any other knowledge skills, I am more than happy to defer to your superior skills in those fields. =) As you are a cleric, we will probably rely on you for the wisdom-based skill checks as well.
Asher, good to have a long-ranged striker on board! With me and Exiel helping at mid-range and Exiel having a big close-range nuke, we should be good for damage. Corwin can hopefully cover the melee and tanking.
Corwin, sorry to hear that you have to attend to a funeral, but hopefully the game will cheer you up! Perhaps it will be good to post your character stats and nominate someone to control your character in your absence if you need to be away for occasional extended periods (say, no post for more than 12 hours)?

![]() |

I actually think we're well behind the box text. It ends with us being at the last base-camp before the final climb. I don't think any of us can get access to spider climb - not enough prestige to purchase. Knotted rope sounds like a good idea though. I believe you already have that covered, Kyra?
As for endure elements, the most economical way I can think of to get it on all of us is for me to pay to get it scribed into my spellbook, then cast it on all of us the night before we begin at the base camp (I can cover 4 of us, but since Exiel is an Aassimar, he has cold resistance 5, which protects against more than what endure elements would.

![]() |

It's a 25 gp scroll. I can manage that. If you and Kyra want to pitch in up to 8 gp each though I will not complain. Corwin and Exiel shouldn't need to make contributions. As Aasimars, their natural cold resistance already grants them more protection than the spell would.

I'll call the 3 - 50ft lengths of hemp rope (one knotted)connected to Hard-Cors' grappling hook. I think you guys are great to listen to me brainstorm.I saw the other game reference a virtual map, which sounds cool. My combat tactic will be roll low in initiative, cast bless if I can, go to total defence +4 to AC (Ac 18), cast shield of faith if no one is injured, and then channel without the Attack of opportunity selectively for as long as it takes the spellcasters to acid ray the thing to death. Averting gazes grants the Yeti concealment that will give it a 50% miss chance so I'll probably drop. I'm just excited to play for the first time. I will be happy to let you guys run my character, the whole sheet is in the recruitment section. I did change Stabalize to Guideance. FYI Ash, you have to say "I use guideance, before you roll it, I think having Resistance instead of Detect Magic is better this new game (party) becuase for like 10 mins, you get a bonus to all saves. I want to play this character "First in the Door-like" becuase she wants so badly to be a leader, earn her name, be worthy of the party's respect.I want to go Fearless! And Beerless!!!

![]() |

I'd rather die on my feet than live on my knees Ash.I'd reference the Thundercats, if you hear the roar, everyones' eyes glow and we acrobatically kick butt.In Voltron the last dude says "And I'll for the head." I just want TEAM to be T-ogether, E-veryone, A-chieves, M-ore, and I want you guys to be proud. In a real life game today I played the 4th level Ezren and the new folks were shocked how awesome that pregen could be.I just figure that we don't harbor the "Meatshield" mindset. We want the ranged to burst to the corners of 30 feet, I engage, the fighter and I then rotate to flank then we hold one thing down together and focus fire. If we have a gang, we Do the Ash-Manuever and squeeze and swap while I channel and swap. Once you level Ash you will find it easy to see the battlefield tactics, especially the 15' colorspray configurations or burning hands.Cat's grace for you, Bull's Strength for Hard-Cor, a wand of healing for me, in one game we will be legends. We just need to get past "this first one".

![]() |

It's pure character roleplay though. That's hard. The way we both gave Dragon Mage food was very good for me to see. The spellcasters are already great friends, you are our "Dry Wit"..."Does it have a Touch AC higher than 30?"... "Then I hit it...." You have creative license to reimagine the gunslinger and define Grit in a Ash-o-metric way. For example, do you know how Special Forces breech houses and walk funny? Ash would never do that, you have the eyes of a seasoned warrior, you are Jedi-with-it. You react like a thief with evasion, without ever sweating the small stuff. You have "SWAGGER", you might flip a rare coin or whistle a sad ballad. I'm hoping for Billy the kid in young guns, "I see you have Joe Bennington with you"--he shoots---"Joe Benningtons not with you anymore...LOL". If you play Ash like Yosemite Sam, or have him chew tabacco and spit and say "I reckon we might have a problem here"...or if we are Fighting a huge Yeti you yell out "I'll take the one on the left.." Anything to give us a moment of sarcastic pause. The Wizard's accent makes me laugh. I was reading Tian posts and in translation they still used broken English.I wish I knew Hard-Cor better but I figure we will do the Conan "Do you want to live forever?"-line. At your core a gunslinger is a fighter, so if you put a bayonet on your gun or spike your armor, go for it. I've just built Wizards with 20 Cons and you'll eventually get that being awesome is not class-dependent. If you make a Ninja, I will do the Klingon Back turn to you. Vanish is ok but please know that "dying" is nothing "how you die is EVERYTHING".

![]() |

I also have a matter, but not as urgent. My trait, 'Clergy Member', allows me to request an item worth up to 50gp from my temple once per session. I meant to ask for a pathfinder chronicle - knowledge local, but forgot to do so before setting out. If you are happy to have me having used the trait before setting out, that'd be cool, if not I declare that when we get back to Absalom, that is what I will be doing. =)

![]() |

I made some changes to my character to make him more melee rather then a ranged combatant, would it be ok to apply them now especially as we haven't done anything yet?
If not, happy to use what i already listed until it can be modified

![]() |

It's listed as an adventurer's chronicle on d20pfsrd, but the source is the Inner Sea World Guide where it is listed as a 'Pathfinder Chronicle', and I've checked it for PFS legality.
Link to item here:
http://www.d20pfsrd.com/equipment---final/goods-and-services/books-paper-wr iting-supplies#TOC-Book
Basically it's a book that grants you a +2 on a type of knowledge check if you have time to consult it. Quite handy, I'm aiming to collect one for each knowledge skill. I was the one who told Ralph about it, and he has a few too. =)

![]() |

As for folios, it seems that between Akinra and Kyra, we have 5 folios/shirts, so basically, since they are both lovely people who like to share, we all can each reroll 1 dice per game. Use wisely. =)

![]() |

I see we started, I had to play low today so my Scenario 03: Murder on the Silken Caravan Chronicle gave me 2PP (Wand of Cure Light Wounds-50 Charges)750gp purchase, 454pgs to make my Armor Master Work (300gps) and my Scimitar Master Work (150gps)
Cooking Kit 1gp
Cooking Kit (Icee Maker) 1gp
Flotation Device 1gp
Ceremonial Tea 4cp/cup-- 1gp worth
The event code was 28956 7/21/13 Matt Benjamin DM GM # 16686
I hope this is ok,I will erase the Scroll of Endure Elements- Ithink her stats are legal.

![]() |

I dont see any stats attached yet to your alias, so it is hard to evaluate. . .
Also, a reroll is very improbable to get you where you would need to be, I will let you reconsider if you like. You have a 0 initiative bonus, and are at 14, so only 30% chance to improve, and you would need to get 17+ to beat the cat (20% chance)
