Q.1: How do i get more spells into my spellbook during down time?
Q.2: If i buy Scrolls of ??? can i then copy those spells into my spellbook, be they from a chronicle sheet or otherwise?
Q.3: I know i should know where this information is but where will i find the rules for learning/scribing new spells and the cost of those spells.

And just a side note, DAMN, i sat at a table with another spellcaster (higher level Witch) and forgot to ask for some spell exchange. :Faceslap:

1) You pay half the scribing cost to access a spell from an NPC spellcaster in a suitable settlement.
2) Yes you can copy from a scroll to your spellbook, using up the scroll. If you find it in the scenario and you do it before the end of the scenario you don't have to pay for the scroll.
3) Page 219 of the core rulebook and the Org play guide.

You can take 10 on the learning/understanding part which is usually auto success.

You can copy a spell of higher level than you can cast, assuming you can make the spellcraft roll.

You always have to pay the scribing cost - on top of any access or scroll purchase costs.

A wizard cannot learn spells from a witch; a witch has no spellbook.

Q.1: How do i get more spells into my spellbook during down time?

1) As per The FAQ you can

1) Borrow a book from another player and comp. shop.
2) Buy library access and then pay the scribing costs. (probably your most common option)
3) Find a scroll during the adventure and copy it into your spellbook.

Q.2: If i buy Scrolls of ??? can i then copy those spells into my
spellbook, be they from a chronicle sheet or otherwise?

You can but Library fees are way cheaper.

Q.3: I know i should know where this information is but where will i find the rules for learning/scribing new spells and the cost of those spells.

Linkied above.

Just stick around we'll make you feel smart!

BNW linkd you the FAQ telling you that it's legal to purchase access to an NPC's spellbook, but I don't think anyone's linked you the rules for actually scribing spells.

Those rules are buried in the Magic chapter of the CRB under the heading of "Arcane Magical Writings," which isn't particularly intuituive, I think. Here is where you find the cost of scribing a spell, the DCs to decipher and scribe the spell, and all those other fun rules. The FAQ just clarifies the "with your GM's permission" part.

Also, you can scribe spells out of a Magus or another Wizard's spell book, so keep an eye out for them. Alchemists can scribe spells out of your spellbook but not vice versa, so it's up to you if you feel generous. Sorcerers and Bards are silly non-spell book users, and Witches are right out.

Thanks all. I'll get the hang of this Wizarding thing eventually.
