Any Magic Items that add to UMD?

Advice

Just like the thread title: does anyone know of a magic item that gives a plus to UMD?

It's for my PFS Rogue.

Thanks ahead of time.

First thing I can think of would be a Circlet of Persuasion giving +3 competence bonus to CHA-based skill checks which UMD would fall under. In terms of directly contributing to the UMD bonus by name, I'm not aware of anything that accomplishes this.

There's a cracked ioun stone that adds a +1 to a Cha skill of your choice. I can't recall the name, but I have seen one when browsing my books the other day.

I don't have the name handy right now, either, but the stone is available from the Seeker of Secrets book, which you'll need to use it in PFS.

Note that anything that adds to Cha will buff UMD.

Some non-magic item stuff that would boost UMD:

Trait: Dangerously Curious
Trait: there are a couple of new ones that let you use Int instead of Cha for one Cha skill. Ultimate Campaign, I think.

It's the cracked Pink & Green Sphere (200 GP, PF Seekers of Secrets).

The Circlet of Persuasion costs 4,500 for a +3 on Cha-based checks, without boosting the Cha stat itself.

By comparison, the Headband of Alluring Charisma +2 costs 4,000 GP.

Dust of Emulation (800 GP/use) gives you an automatic 25 on a UMD check per application.

Thank you, everyone!

I do have Dangerously Curious on my Rogue. My Charisma is a 14. I'll keep an eye out for magic items that boost it.

I recently added Goggles of Minute Seeing (+5 to DD) and Boots of Elven Kind (+5 to Acrobatics) and I started wondering if there might be an item that gave a +5 to UMD out there. I know I could not find it.

Thanks again.

I haven't heard of something that directly and specifically improves UMD. After all, using a magic device to use magic devices sounds oddly recursive to me.

Make a custom item that only works for members of another race. You now need to make a UMD check to use an item to give you a bonus to your UMD check. :)

Yo dawg, I heard you like UMD checks....

just to clarify one of the posts above the Dust of Emulation doesn't let you take 25 on any UMD check - it only lets you do that on checks for emulating a class or a race.

Headband of vast intelligence specced to UMD would give you max ranks in the skill. Might not be the best choice if you already have ranks in it or have a headband you need more.

A set of masterwork tools for Use Magic Device would also provide a +2 circumstance bonus, but the GM is encouraged to set a limit on either the number of uses of such a tool or the conditions in which the bonus is received.

Belt of Dwarvenkind

I'd think that in PFS it will always be a GM call whether a masterwork tool for UMD can exist or be used on a particular check. For instance, you might say the tool is a lucky rabbit's foot or a "wand koozie", but the GM might say it is a book that you need to consult for a minute before using a magic device or a special magnifying glass which gives you a +2 on UMD checks to use scrolls.

Spending an extra 4450gp on the Circlet seems like a safer bet and grants an additional +1 on the UMD check. You could still get a headband to increase your Charisma for an even higher bonus. The only other thing I can think of is a wand of Bestow Insight (assuming wands of spells from ARG can even be found in PFS)

As long as you're looking at various wondrous items, check out the cracked Magenta Prism from the PFS Primer. +2 to one skill, you can change that skill every day. It costs 4x the gold of the cracked Pink & Green Sphere, but that extra +1 is nice.
