Ok, almost 4,000 posts in less than 4 days... I think that means every item has been commented on at least 3x and therefore this thread is no longer necessary.
Let's start a new one, maybe on what you would do if you had this way cool item that grants you the ability not to die...ever and how much cooler that would make an RPG.

Whether or not there are a lot of things that do this in this year's batch of items is not discussed. In order words, I'm not saying things that speed this are in this year's batch, only that people want things like.

Well, from now on I will always long for that one cooking item when my character makes camp for the night. Also, that "strike a cool pose" item.
Four days of voting, still have not seen my item. I may get Marathon after all.

Interesting. Last year, I submitted an item that aerosolized potions, so you could apply them to allies without them having to spend their own action. It got panned by public and judges, and the one thing they hated the most was the last ability that turned the potion into a gas cloud, and now here's a published item with that exact ability. Granted mine was reusable, and these pills from UE are consumable.

Ok, yesterday, I poked some fun at the Pinocchio item. Last night, I came up with two different plot ideas that revolve around the item. I think it's a plot-item, but a good plot-item. I'm going to use it in my home game. Thank you anonymous designer.

Hurrah, finally saw my item; I don't know why that always feels so good. It was an easy vote, as I wasn't impressed with its opponent.

I was lying in bed half-awake this morning when I hit on an idea to tweak my item's abilities. Now that I've had some coffee and time to think about it, it's a really, really good idea. Wish I'd thought of it before. :/

Just had to vote for an obvious joke item that is not a serious attempt but just someone making fun of the contest, due to the fact that my other choice was the most egregious mapping/camping/hand-holding item I have ever seen.

I think I would have voted for the mapping item, since at least the author is making an attempt, and I can attribute the decision to someone unaware of the metacontest. :)

Ouch, a really nifty item if I'm reading it right. Unfortunately I have to surmise intent due to language confusion. Superstar idea with grave execution errors. I feel like I could have proofread this and coaxed this person into greatness.

What I meant was there have been quite a few fire-themed cloaks etc..., that burn or writhe with smoke...

I'm thinking a line of offensive debuffing spells. Bull's grace, owl's strength, sheep's cunning, et al.

I honestly was going to at first as I have seen the joke item before, however as I read the other one it just go worse and worse. It might as well have read "Ignore all that travel and obstacle stuff, and just skip straight to combat."
But I was tempted even so.
I was seriously considering doing a "silver tongue ring" item, admittedly a bit tongue in cheek. I never thought it would one of many!My first item draft was sort-of a camping item, albeit with a strong divine rejuvenation theme. Luckily I realized that it wan't a wondrous item but a staff and made something new, otherwise it would have disappeared between all the other camping items.
The thing is. a stat or skill bonus item or camp item are fine and if the mechanics are clean and its fun to use they you can evoke rule #27.
650 individual items! Whoot!
