Does it say somewhere in the advice not to do 24 hour attunement periods on your items? They are important to keep people from swapping out similar items whenever they need one of the benefits over another, and they also appear in plenty of official items. It's a single phrase that would fix broken items like the quick runner's shirt. Unfortunately, it's also one of those phrases that gets stuck in people's heads and makes them want to burst a blood vessel. C'est la vie. (There's some French for you, Zi'on!) Ah, ok. That makes sense. I was scratching my head thinking "24 hour attunement periods are important; why wouldn't we want to see those?" But yeah, I get that it's monotonous.

Saw my item again.
Third time, wonder if that means anything...
Okay, the deeper in I get the more food based or cooking items i'm seeing. By my count i've seen 6 unique food/culinary items.
Haven't spotted mine yet. Bad luck I guess. Gnight all.
personally I am not a fan attument periods... espeically if they are for objects that are not generally worn around the clock... "looks like I'm sleeping with my boots on tonight guys." That is not to say that they don't have their place.... but generally I see them as a sign of lazy design used by people that can't come up with more creative limitations (should the item need one).

Only a few votes in really, but so far very few Bottles of Ketchup with Christmas Lights and a few items I've actually liked.. one even went into a keep file I didn't think I was going to bother with this year. Even if this item doesn't make it to Superstar, it will make an appearance sooner or later in a game I run.
Also, good gods in Nirvana, some people brought the gross this year, and I know I saw at least one item last year resubmitted this year. Last year I up-voted it; this year it gets a thumbs down.
Saw the hamster thing... Had to vote it up once. After that? Down down down

No, its more like a tie breaker... (like non-italicized spell names) if two items are otherwise equal in my opinion I'll vote for the one with out attunment.

oh luckiest of the figurines, you just got paired with a really, really bad item. You finally get a vote from me...

I have to admit, I'd give an item an attunement period without thinking twice about it. Heck, it's almost like it's what you're supposed to do. Anyone else feel the same way as cwslyclgh? camping item vs. pointless item.
So I at around 800 votes if my count is right and have 28 keeps so far.
Seems like less than last year.
Well, we will see.
Only 4 of them are strong keeps too...

Got the "What kind of alcoholic are you?" item. I feel like it's judging me.
Some items (such as rings of sustenance) it (attunement) makes perfect sense for... helmets and such not so much... sleeping in an ornate helmet should not be all that restful, nor should sleeping in large iron boots... and is just plane inane in items that also cause the wearer pain.
Still haven't seen my item T_T

Damn it, there was a super-cool hat that had a core mechanic that was totally superstar, but then had a bunch of little superfluous unnecessary extra bits. I still voted for it, but it pained me how much I loved ALMOST everything about it, like if I was eating a delicious key lime pie but instead of a dollop of whipped cream in the center, it had a big lump of nacho cheez.
I can't tell if this item is a consumable.

Woo! Just hit Dedicated Voter :D.
Super broken item with no saving throw for extremely cheap or vanilla item that say you get bonus +X...
Vanilla it is!
Hm. That one is a pretty interesting concept; I'm fair certain it could have been gotten across without so nearly hitting the word limit, but this writer has potential.

Okay, I can see where you're coming from in a case like that. I suppose I have just been looking at 24 hours attunement periods as an unfortunate but necessary game mechanic that you're not supposed to think too much about. But yeah, I can see how it strains suspension of disbelief when it's a helmet or something. Interesting food for thought.

It's an entirely neutral design choice for me, and a quick way to say "don't be a jerk and buy eleven Headbands of Intellect and break the skill system." Or whatever. But what's another phrase that shows up as often in items?

I stopped when I hurt my mind trying to figure out what the heck the person was thinking.
I don't really like either of these two items, but I feel the one on the right put forth a little more effort into theirs.

This item is terrible and disgusting and I truly adore it for its River Kingdom flavor and function. Plus it makes me laugh. I hope it makes Top 32 because I'd love to see what this author can do.
