"Slot none" and "Slot --" are fine. There was a discussion about this last year. The convention goes back and forth between books.
Then play an urban ranger or archaeologist/sandman bard, and save the PC's/party's cash for a better magic item.Crap, there sure are a lot of items to replace that party rogue.That's 'cause rogues totally suck, dude.
Strange we don't get items to replace that party monk...

Also, my general advice to people doing items that involve time: stop, just stop. All you're doing is making an item that GMs take one look at and say "Nope. Not gonna happen. That's a major headache waiting to happen. Don't ask again. I'll kill your character. You know I will."

I was hungry until I read that item. I don't think I will be ordering any soup today.
Wow. I think this one tried to ignore all the advice it could. It didn't just have an incorrect template; it had NO template at all. It fell into TWO not-a-wondrous-item categories, "appears to be a mundane..." and is "especially prized by...", was named after a character, and was rife with misspellings.

OK, what's up with all the soup?

I've only seen really bad items so far; way too many spells in a can, feat in a can, class ability in a can, feat in a can, or some really weird templates!, I even saw a "hello, ...." message before the item description, and a "use x spell y times per day" item.
On the bright side, I haven't chanced upon any item I've already seen, but, What is going on with the items this year ?. Am I just this unlucky? or is it like that for everybody?
I've only seen about four worthy items, and I'm decently on my way to voting 500 times.
So far, I have seen only one truly "flawless" item that was solidly constructed, innovative, well-written, and perfectly formatted.
