As part of preparing for RPG Superstar 2014, I'm working on improving my monster design skills. I have some concepts of my own in the works, but I also need to practice the mechanical side of turning a concept into a working stat block.
So, if anyone have any ideas for monsters they would like to have statted up, post a short description and a ballpark CR estimate here, and I'll take a stab at as many as time permits.

I'll bite.
I need an evil old aged human or half-elf worm that walks Magus around CR 15+. Feel free to be creative, though I do ask for a bit of theming toward a worshipper of the Great Old Ones and scientist that performs horrible experiments on people. Make him nasty as you like, he's meant to be a boss in a campaign I'm running.
Will that work?

"I'll bite" in a monster thread- was that a bad pun Aleron?
Jacob, I think it'd be interesting to see the various life cycles of the Graboids from Tremors

Hi Aleron. I'd really like to focus on building new, unique monsters, not building NPC's based on existing rules.
But your villain sounds badass, and NPC building is an equally important skills to practice when it comes to making killer adventures, so if I get any spare time after I get done statting up the first couple of monsters, I'll run a quick build through HeroLab and post it. Sound good?

Character in my game is nearing 6th level, our cap. He has styled himself as a hunter of the biggest of game. Have idea I want made concrete.
Hazael, the Fear Eater. An outrageously large raven with its face a porcelain white mask like one of the long nosed mardi gras fools masks. It has dominion over darkness, should be able to induce hallucinations, literally consume fear, and have a host of movement based abilities. But don't let my ideas constrain you, and don't go easy. I want the bleeding edge of ~CE12.

Maybe another good aquatic celestial, like Mikaze's Aequoreal Agathion from the Wayfinder #8 bestiary?

Just a quick update. House guests, family visits and my young kids have kept me plenty busy over the holidays, but I have had time to work on the first couple of monsters.
I hope to be able post the stats for a Blade Archon and three Graboid versions once we return from a visit to my mother-in-law tomorrow.

I didn't know who Slenderman was, so I did a quick google search. Glad I did, this is one creepy dude. I'll definitly do a take on this one. Most likely make it fey and give it some kind of link between the First World and urban areas. Perhaps it can only manifest on Golarion through childrens inability to seperate imagination and reality, growing more real if you believe in it. Things like nursery rhymes and drawings could increase the likelyhood of a Slenderman manifesting.

Just as a heads up, there is a Golarion interpretation of Slenderman already: Thin Man
That shouldn't stop you, though!

Thanks for the heads up. I actually have my copy of the Inner Sea Bestiary with me, but I hadn't made the connection. I'll see if I can give it a different spin.

I'd make Slenderman CE and at least CR 8 if not higher. Anyone who has played the game knows that Slenderman destroys you without a chance of fighting back.
Just a guideline though it's your monsterGoth Guru |
The Jagger Barrel-This is a gargantuan wood golem I am having a hard time stating. I may be looking at the wrong part of the Beastiary.
History. Several Dwarf clans got to together to create the biggest keg of drink in history, then drink it. Some of their item makers, while still a little drunk, made it into a gargantuan golem.
While all such golems have fast healing when they can absorb their base material(Wood in this case) and are controlled by a special helmet(All senses and movements are redirected through the golem till it is removed), I am at a loss as to how many D8s and how much strength it should have. All such golems have a throne with straps so the pilot can be safely inside while otherwise helpless. Also, if either is moved to another plane, the connection is lost.

I'm thinking an aberration, mid or lower level, that tries to pass itself off as a PC core race using disguise and subtle mental persuasion (save to sense 'something ain't right'). It can change shape enough to go from tall and slender to short and rotund; this ability allows a sneak attack of unusual reach (from stretching unexpectedly). If pressed it can attempt a mental stun, but this is only truly effective if used with surprise, and can only stun one intelligent enemy for a brief period of time. Uses common weapons, although if pressed could try a grapple & smother attack.

A creature with four eyes, four front legs and two mouths. Reptilian in nature that charges on plains to strike its foes. There is also a mountianous version as well.
The smaller mouth is capable of emitting a powerful poison composed of rotting flesh and other harmful things, while the bigger lower mouth is the biting mouth.
The beasts name is Drageono

I'd like to see your take on an aquatic non-humanoid fiend, like the Wastrilith from 3.5 - wastrilith .
I couldn't really find a creature to function in it's role, it could be a demon, daemon (death by aquatic predators maybe) or something else you can come up with.

Hi guys and girls, another status post. Looks like the first monster will have to wait until the new year to make an appearance.
Based on Nicos request for a non-anthropomorphic celestial, I'm working on a Blade Archon, but am having a bit of trouble ironing out the details.
The concept is that particular brave or heroic Lantern archons get promoted to become living embodiments of the favored weapons of the deities of heaven - in the Blade Archon's case the longsword of Iomedae or a similar LG god. There will also be variants like a Bow Archon (Erastil) or Hammer Archon (Torag).
A Blade Archon can attack on its own, like a dancing intelligent weapon, or allow itself to be wielded by a faithful servant of the deity who's weapon it embodies.
The part that's giving me most trouble is aligning the living weapon aspect with the Archon abilities. For instance my instinct is that it should have both DR/evil and hardness, but I also want to keep the CR low, around 3 or 4.
Anyway, I'll keep working and if I don't get a breakthrough within the next few days, I'll move on to some of the other monsters. Suggestions are welcome.

Sorry for dropping off the radar like that, without as much as a single monster posted. Once January came around, the sirens call of wondrous item voting completely grabbed me, and that led right into the rules for the round 2 monsters being released.
I'll be submitting the monster I developed in case I made it to round 2 to Wayfinder #11, and then I'll revisit this thread and work through the concepts. Because I still need the practice, even if I didn't make it into RPG Superstar.

Is it too late for me to submit a crystal cube ioun stone. It records memories and one feat or skill.

I had an idea for Golems made of various materials, who might double as a playable race.
Straw- Think scarecrows. Basic all around stats, as enemies, they attack in clusters.
Wood- Nut crackers. Big brutish golems used as soldiers.
Porcelain- Porcelain dolls. Used as house servants. Good with magic.
Stone- Gargoyles. Used to guard major churches and clergy. Adept with divine abilities.
There's a few more, but I won't drown you with em. Lol.

I'd love to see more monsters from the plane of shadow a really cool place that is often forgotten by the monster makers. I'd love to see a Shadow that fed on draconians and has gained a level of power unheard of by normal creatures of this type... maybe Cr 15.
