Glamered Weapon disguise advice needed.

Advice

I have a player wo is going to be playing a holy gun paladin of Cayden Caylean with a musket. Since firearms are going to be EXTREMELY rare in the world, he bought the glamered enchantment for it, so he doesn't raise too many questions when he carries it around.
Now the big question is: What should it be disguised as? We need an item that the character can carry on his back and preferably bring into places, where weapons would not be allowed (he's playing the chaotic paladin archetype, so no lawfulness-problems here).
On top of that, the item should look cool in context with his overall leather-duster-and-hat-style.

So far we've come up with a rolled up blanket or a huge mead horn, but we're not really satisfied with either.

Any ideas?

Crutch.

If guns are extremely rare there is a good chance people will not even recognize it for what it is. Without some form of mass media and photography the only way people get to see things is in paintings and other artwork. Most commoners don’t have a lot of exposure to this. Assuming guns are new the chance of someone recognizing a gun as a weapon is probably pretty small.

If you do still need to disguise it a shovel or other tool would be the logical choice. A telescope of some sort would also work.

Musical instrument.

Yes, and carry it around in an instrument case.

I would say instrument case. And for the fun of it, take a few ranks in perform: (X instrument).

An oboe. Preferably an oboe d'amour or a heckelphone; simply for their names.

A hookah might be an option too.

Had it been a blunderbuss, I would suggest a Vuvuzela.

How about a giant metal cross? He's a paladin, he should be preaching all the time, no one will think twice about it!

But merciful doesn't increase the weight.
