So, Tiger Style is pretty clear, as is Crane Style. But there's one style that I haven't seen depicted anywhere: Fox Style.

What do you think those feats would look like?

Well Foxes are known for their cleverness and trickery.

They would likely gain bonuses on Steal or Dirty Trick combat maneuvers.

Firing from cover. Leading a foe into an ambush. You know, a rogue's surprise attack.

Archery.

Liberty's Edge

Well, Crane Style, Tiger Style, and Panther Style are all based on real-world fighting stances, so I guess the first thing you need to do is figure out whether or not a real fighting style that you could emulate exists.

If the answer is 'Yes,' your life is MUCH easier now! Rejoice!

If the answer is 'No' and you still want one, you need to make it up.

Here are some things to keep in mind:

  • All style feats require Improved Unarmed Strike as a prerequisite.
  • All style feats have a chain link of three feats.
  • Most style feats can't be taken before 3rd level by anyone save a Master of Many Styles monk.

Tiger style, yes. I don't see a connection between the other styles and real world martial arts, and Dragon style is decidedly not based on real world Dragon style.

Janni Style is supposed to be Capoeira I think. Boar style sounds a bit like Southern Fist imo.

Anyway, fox style; foxes are known for cunning, guile, and persuasion. Would probably rely around using Bluff in as well as out of combat. I could imagine the first feat giving a bonus to bluff checks and bluffing in combat, the second reducing the action cost, and the third one making the target generate an attack of opportunity if you successfully bluff someone.

A fox is like a doggy, so...

Three feats like others.

Benefit happen when running from pack, pursued by horseman.

The "Animal Styles" are based on real-world types of kung fu with the possible exception of Boar Style; it was the only one I wasn't able to find with a very limited amount of Google Fu.

Dragon Style, Archon Style, and the Genie Styles are obviously not based on real styles because they possess supernatural elements and/or are named after supernatural beings..

That said, if I were stat up a "Fox Style," I would personally base it around attacks of opportunity, as befitting an animal that is generally perceived as being a sly trickster.

Fox Style (Combat, Style)

You dash madly accross the battlefield, confounding enemies with your unpredictable movements.

Prerequisites: Improved Unarmed Strike, Bluff 3 ranks.

Benefit: While using this style, once per round when you hit a foe with an unarmed strike, you may, as an immediate action, move up to 5 feet without provoking attacks of opportunity. This movement does not count against your total for the round.

I'd base it around Bluff and feint maneuvers.

Something like this:

Fox Style
Prerequisite: Improved unarmed strike, Bluff 3 ranks.
Benefit: Gain +2 bonus to Bluff, and Bluff is always a class skill for you. Gain a +2 dodge bonus to AC when you move more than 5' per round, +1 damage bonus when foes are flat-footed. Gain Improved Feint as a monk bonus feat.

Fox Feint
Prerequisite: Fox Style, Improved Feint, Bluff 6 ranks.
Benefit: make a feint as a swift action, +1d6 sneak attack damage bonus when foes are flat footed.

Fox Bite
Prerequisites: Fox Style, Improved Feint, Fox Feint, Combat Reflexes, Bluff 9 ranks.
Benefit: You can use Bluff instead of acrobatics to avoid attacks of opportunity; doing so does not slow your movement. You can then make an attack of opportunity on any foe you prevent from making attacks of opportunity on you in this way. Sneak attack bonus to +2d6 when foes are flat-footed.
