Poison and Lesser Restoration

Rules Questions

Sovereign Court

Does Lesser Restoration cure ability damage done by poison? Clearly the normal and greater version of this spell do, but Lesser says:

Lesser restoration dispels any magical effects reducing one of the subject's ability scores or cures 1d4 points of temporary ability damage to one of the subject's ability scores.

Is poison considered a magical effect?

Poison does temporary ability damage, so it is covered by the second part. The first part is for magical effects that temporarily lower an ability, not damage it.

To show what Brf is talking about consider touch of idiocy.

As to poison being a magical effect:

Does it go away in an antimagic field? If yes magical else non-magical.

Most poisons are non-magical.
