Ranger Archetypes: Missing Class Feature Replacements

Rules Questions

10 people marked this as FAQ candidate.

A bunch of Ranger Archetypes, namely the Warden, Wild Rager and Freebooter Rangers lose Favoured Enemy completely, but have no mention of any replacements or changes for Quarry ,Improved Quarry or the Master Hunter Ability.

Do they lose those Class Features with no replacements or can they use them against enemies that do not correspond to one of their favoured enemy types?

Isn't Wild Rager a barbarian archetype? As for the others, even as a normal Ranger, Quarry, Improved Quarry or the Master Hunter Ability can be used on any quarry, not just your favorite enemies.

much like the real orson scott card, you are not correct

I stand corrected. But you haven't answered the OP question.

well, i don't know. I figure you can't use them at all, but I am just some guy.

You can't use the abilities without Favored Enemy. There's no replacement because, I guess, who cares? I don't think I've ever seen any Ranger in Pathfinder use Quarry (or even remember they had it), nor have I ever seen a Pathfinder character get to 20.

This is more a question for the dev team. And I meant the Wild Stalker not Wild Rager.

I'd just assume that losing the dependent features in this case was considered part of the trade. Stating that you explicitly lose Quarry as well would have been nice, though.

Personally, I would like to see all these archetypes get an update, so please hit the FAQ and see if we can get answer please :)
