PFS PbP First Steps Part 3

Recruitment

I am going to be running a First Steps Part 3 here on the boards. I want to start Sunday or Monday so recruitment will be open through Saturday. I would prefer people who have already played Part 1 and Part 2, so they can finish out the series before it is retired next month.

Aside from standard PFS character creation rules I have three other specific requirements.

1) You need to be able to post at least once a day, preferablly twice, once in the morning and once in the evening. This scenario will be retired in about a months time so we need to move things along rather quickly. As such if you know you are going to be away for an extended period over the next month and can't post reliably please do not apply.

2) Put some vital stat info in your characters Profile - Class/Level field. This should include, at a minimum, the following information:

Class Level | AC XX T XX FF XX | HP XX/XX | F +X R +X W +X | Init +X | Perc +X

AC is Armor Class, T is Touch AC, FF is Flat Footed AC, HP is Hitpoints, F is Fort Save, R is Refelx Save, W is Will Save. Init is your Initiative modifier and Perc is your Perception skill modifier. You are welcome to include other skills you utilize often to make it easier.

3) Provide a stat block on your profile so I can look at all your info if I need to. In addition please include your characters PFS# in your prfoile somewhere. If you want to be really helpful and get brownie points break it up into sections and spoilers for easier browsing. Here is an example of a great Profile page from one of my other players: Example

Here is some General info on how I handle things.

Campaign Info:

=Style guidelines for posting=
Out of Character
"Spoken outloud"
"Telepathically communicated"
Thoughts
Other information

=GM Rolls=
Any rolls that are automatic, or pseudo automatic, such as Initiative, or if you say something like "every time we enter a room, I give it a quick scan", I make the rolls so we don't have to wait. Likewise, I generally make all the save rolls. All the rolls are above board, in spoilers to keep clutter to a minimum. I roll in either: (1) Alphabetic Order or (2) Initiative Order, as appropriate for the situation.

Any save whose result may result in very bad things for your character, I leave to you whenever possible. If you face a Save or Suck for instance, I don't like to roll the save for you. Your character, your karma, your luck . . .

=Player Discussion=
For any questions and concerns - I like to address these in the Discussion thread. That way everyone has the advantage of learning the answer to a specific question or ruling. When I post a ruling or what have you, I generally post a link to the PRD.

Note: I can be wrong, I'm not a perfect GM. When I am wrong, tell me and provide references. It is how we all learn.

=General Notes=
Aid another (skills) / Aid another (Combat) is a wondrous thing.

Taking 10 (T10) works differently in PFS than in 3.5. For instance, you can T10 on knowledges and perception.

Silver Crusade

I'm down for this. Dak runs a good game :)

Liberty's Edge

I would like to play, unfortunatly I have not played any of the first steps series. But I really would like to try them. From what I have been told only the 2 and 3 are being retired.

This is the first draft of the inquisitor I would like to play. If you have a spot on the table please consider my submision. Thanks.

Dark Archive

I am up for it! what level chars will you need / require?

All of the first steps are Level 1 only.

New characters are welcome to apply, but like I noted preference will go to anyone needing Part 3 to finish out the series. Of course if there aren't enough or any people needing Part 3 then I'll be picking new characters.

Dark Archive

I can bring either a lvl 1 divine hunter or tactician. Haven't played pt 1 or 2. So let me know when and I can step up. Else, no fuz!

So far we have 3 applicants. Need at least 4 to run a table :D

Scarab Sages

I'm tentatively interested. I haven't played either Pt 1 or 2.

I've got a Gnomish Alchemist that I'm starting. The catch is that there's a local convention this weekend and I intend to play some PFS there. I'm not sure how much I'm going to be able to attend or how many PFS games I'll play, so I'm not sure if I'll still be level 1.

So, put me down as a possible and feel free to bump me if you get enough players. I'll check back in when I've got a better idea where the gnome will be after the weekend. Tomorrow or Sunday, depending.

I haven't got stats on line yet, so the profile's just a placeholder.

Hehe are my requirements too strick or are people just tired of playing the First Steps scenarios :P

Grand Lodge

I'm interested. Still working up a new character. Likely a ninja.

Shadow Lodge

There has been a lot of groups forming for these modules on the boards lately. To mine dismay I was late to all of them.

Pathfinder Adventure Path, Maps Subscriber

Haven't played part 1 or 2, but would be interested. Will drop a PC ASAP.

Fluff:
When the Stonefist Clan was routed by Giants and their Goblin allies, Orik barely had any whiskers on his youth's face.

Now his red, forked beard is long and the braids down his back are longer. His family is scattered throughout Golarion, their once-noble blood reduced to mundane tasks like mining or stone-craft.

He himself went to Magnimar in Varisia and fought in the Serpent's Run until he learned the Sczarni con men set up and fixed many of those battles. Approached by them to fix a fight, Orik refused and was cast out of the gladiator group.

Still smarting from that injury and curious to know about the relics taken from his family's delving, he inquired about the Pathfinder Society.

In battle, he is a fierce warrior espeiclly if goblins or giants are present. Out of battle he is dour and taciturn like many of his people.

His overriding ambition is to find the lost relics of the Stonefists and re-unite the Clan. (Problem is he doesn't know what the relics are really, nor where they are. That's what the Pathfinders will help him find out.)

Appearance: Clad in heavy armor and bearing a heavy shield, Orik is difficult to mistake on the battlefield. His war-axe is long and ornately crafted. His hair is red, and long in braids. His beard is also plaited into forks and is red. He has a scar from the goblins that raided his home from the corner of his left eye down to his chin along the jawbone. He fingers that scar often when he thinks.

Manner: Brusque, abrupt, liable to act without thinking, but noble in his beliefs and protector of those he favors especially the softer, gentler ladies.

Scarab Sages

I only got to play one scenario this weekend so I still qualify and hope to get in.

The stats are in the profile. I'll pretty them up when I get the chance. I'm still tweaking a few things based on the first session. And trying to figure out how to spend some of the cash and stay below encumbrance limits. Small, weak characters are tricky.

Recruitment is closed. I'll be sending you a PM if you have been accepted with instructions. Thanks everyone for the applications!
