If you're not using Excel 2013, you won't have any dropdowns.

Pathfinder Adventure Path, Lost Omens, Rulebook, Starfinder Roleplaying Game Subscriber

I think I've got this licked, but it's stupidly late here. I want to test before I host, so one more day. Sorry, folks.

Pathfinder Adventure Path, Lost Omens, Rulebook, Starfinder Roleplaying Game Subscriber

5.5a! Bugfix to correct the issues with dropdowns in spreadsheet apps other than Excel 2013.

Excel
Open Office

Thank you for your patience.

Thank you very much for all your hard work! :)

EDIT: While Excel 2007 still won't open it, 5.5a appears to be working fine in Google Sheets, which is the important part from my perspective.

Pathfinder Adventure Path, Lost Omens, Rulebook, Starfinder Roleplaying Game Subscriber

It's my pleasure!

As usual, let me know about any bugs as soon as possible.

A weird thing in Google Sheets: whenever I select something from any dropdown, a Loyalty/Economy/Stability dropdown will pop up immediately afterward. This seems to have no effect on anything, but it is odd.

The man! = insert picture of Chemlak here...

Very odd that Excel 2007 won't open it for you, EML: The friend I got to check over the file before I loaded it up had no problem at all.

Later on I'll PM you a different link, see if it's something at the file end (just to be thorough, make sure you have all available default add-ins switched on).

Also interesting behaviour from Google Docs. Might be something about the first array on the Drop Down sheet, but if it's not messing things up, I'm loathe to delve too deeply.

I can see the light at the end of the URule tunnel, now.

Pathfinder Adventure Path, Lost Omens, Rulebook, Starfinder Roleplaying Game Subscriber

redcelt32 has identified some bugs for me (I think they're actually all the same bug, which was actually designer error), so another bug fix is in order. Update will be today or tomorrow (game night tonight, so not sure I'll be able to sort it straight away).

Pathfinder Adventure Path, Lost Omens, Rulebook, Starfinder Roleplaying Game Subscriber

I found a bit of time. I think I got the problems redcelt32 pointed me towards sorted.

Same links as above.

Thanks!

What were the bugs, out of curiosity/wondering if I can put off copying the data this iteration?

Pathfinder Adventure Path, Lost Omens, Rulebook, Starfinder Roleplaying Game Subscriber

Control DC was out of whack (it was counting defence rather than districts in settlements), consumption was doing strange things (I never did figure out how that was going wrong, but it was a similar problem), and a whole bunch of "count these buildings" formulae were wrong (counting the wrong buildings). Basically, anything referring to the hidden City Overview sheet was probably returning incorrect values if you had more than one settlement.

I had to do a huge number of find/replace operations to get things roughly right, and then manually checked that the right cell references were actually in use.

It might be that one user has installed...

Microsoft Office Compatibility Pack for Word, Excel, and PowerPoint File Formats

and the other user hasn't? 2007 doesn't work happily with xlsx files unless you download and install that compatibility pack.

That sentence is the name pasted from the top of the download page, so stick it in Google and you will find it easy enough :)

The Google Sheets dropdown bug appears to have gone with the new version. :)

Is there any chance of Ultimate Battle/War anytime soon?

Pathfinder Adventure Path, Lost Omens, Rulebook, Starfinder Roleplaying Game Subscriber

Soon being a relative term. I very nearly converted army sizes to UBat at one point, but decided that I'd stick to just getting URule finished (I think it was while I was doing the bit of Recruitment Edicts that are in the sheet right now).

Yes, I absolutely will be tackling UBat and UWar, but first I want to finish URule (which is by far the hardest of them all).

I'm hoping that I'll be able to create a nice "which rules are you using?" series of tick boxes, to let users decide which rule set they've got in play, and then people can pick or choose their options: one reason I've never actually removed existing rules from the sheet, just told it to look in different places for results.

Chem, was the fix you put in for buildings something to account for some of these strange behaviors?

cistern should not be granting minor wondrous slot x2, +1000gp base value
jail should not be granting medium item slot x2, minor item slot x3
library should be granting +1000gp base value
shop not adding +500 base value
stable not adding +500 base value

Those are the only ones I've come up with so far as those are the buildings my group has used to this point.

Guess I'll download the latest version and plug in my numbers and see if there are any differences in the kingdom numbers. My group is currently struggling with a continuous Inquisition event and if their Control DC has been significantly out of whack, that could have changed how things played out.

Edit - For clarification, I'm using the UCAM sheet, not the newer URule sheet.

I haven't touched UCam for a couple of months (so these changes shouldn't have done anything at all). I shall investigate and fix.

Just to check: is this in the individual city sheet? Does it affect city 1 but not the others, or the others and not city 1, or does it affect all of them? And can you confirm the UCam sheet version number?

Inquisition events are seriously harsh on a new kingdom.

I'm using Version 5.3h (hey cool, I'm even noted as helping find the issue that led to this version).

This is in the City1 tab. We only have a single city at the moment, but in playing with the sheet just now, the same logic for those buildings seems to be in play for City2 and City3, and City4 (stopped there as I can spot a pattern when I see one, heh).

Pathfinder Adventure Path, Lost Omens, Rulebook, Starfinder Roleplaying Game Subscriber

Just tested those buildings in City 1 on the live downloadable version of UCam, and they all work fine for me. Excel or OO version?

Oh, and send me a copy: chemlak (at) blueyonder dot co dot uk.

Most likely reason: Buildings tab has been re-ordered so they're no longer alphabetical. That'll screw up loads.

Excel version, and it's a pretty fresh version as I took the stats from the previous version and re updated everything from scratch when the last release came out and then basically just made the changes as we went through the kingdom turns on our last session.

Email en route.

Pathfinder Adventure Path, Lost Omens, Rulebook, Starfinder Roleplaying Game Subscriber

Found the bug, only affects UCam version (URule version had this fixed a while ago, apparently).

So: UCam Bugfix v5.3i

Excel
Open Office

Thanks, Curghann, oh, and before you decide to download this, check your email - I fixed your kingdom (the version number won't match, but it'll now work the same as 5.3i).

fantastic sheet! thanks!

Hi,
Just wanted to report a few issues with version 5.5a. it appears that the references for all cities except the first are incorrect on the city overview tab.

i.e. for the Waterfront column

='City 1'!$U$64
='City 2'!$U$62

Pathfinder Adventure Path, Lost Omens, Rulebook, Starfinder Roleplaying Game Subscriber

Again?

Bah, humbug.

Okay, I'll lick that as quickly as I can.

I know how it happens, and I just need to train myself not to go for "quick" alterations on the City sheets.

Thanks!

just a quick question are the dc for trade routes correct as looking at the rules the base is the kingdoms control DC where as the spreadsheet says 10. Have I missed a rule change somewhere or are trade routes not completed?

Is "Oops" an acceptable answer?

Always!
In fact - one of my 'go to' answers... :)

Pathfinder Adventure Path, Lost Omens, Rulebook, Starfinder Roleplaying Game Subscriber

Found some time to squeeze in a bugfix.

The first error Steven Evans noted above was actually fixed in 5.5b, which I didn't post a formal update notice for, so no great surprise that it slipped by.

Trade Routes now calculate correctly (as far as I know - it'd be great if someone could make sure).

URule 5.5c Bugfix!

Excel
Open Office

As always, thank you for your patience, suggestions, ideas, and bug reports!

(And a really big thank you to everyone who PMs me instead of posting in this thread - I don't mind how people get in touch with me, and I appreciate each and every one of you.)

As always, thank you Chemlak! Thank for all your efforts in this extremely useful tool!!!

I'll update mine multiple kingdoms'campaigns to see if there is something not going properly.

Silver Crusade

Chemlak,
Want to start by saying thank you for this wonderful tool that is making life easier for so many of us.

Not sure if this is a bug or user error, but the UCam 5.3i does not have any drop downs when using LibreOffice Version: 4.3.7.2. This happens in both the Excel and OpenOffice sheet. The URule sheets do have the dropdowns.

Pathfinder Adventure Path, Lost Omens, Rulebook, Starfinder Roleplaying Game Subscriber

Fair to assume it's a bug.

I'll take a look later: probably the problem caused by me updating to Excel 2013.

Fight the power my man...do not fall for the hype...it is the same functionality, different menu system...

Sorry, I didn't get a chance to fix this yesterday, real life got in the way. Hopefully today will be better for me.

Ugh, how dare you let your real life get in the way of my game?

Seriously, though, hope all is well.

Scarab Sages Owner - Game Knight

I just want to throw a thank you out there for undertaking this project. This is exactly what we needed for our home game.

Pathfinder Adventure Path, Lost Omens, Rulebook, Starfinder Roleplaying Game Subscriber

Thank you!

I'm afraid real life has still been on top of me for the last few weeks (it's never-ending). Having a few days off work right now to try and refocus myself.

Sorry for being poor at updates and bug fixing.

Merry Christmas Chemlak,
Thanks for all your hard work.

Pathfinder Adventure Path, Lost Omens, Rulebook, Starfinder Roleplaying Game Subscriber

Merry Christmas, Philip, and everyone else!

I've got a bit of free time today, so I'm planning to actually do some work on the sheet (among other Christmas activities), but I managed to puncture my foot an hour ago so in a bit of pain right now, waiting for the painkillers to fully kick in.

The best laid plans, and all that.

I certainly hope that does not mean a trip to the hospital for you. There will be quite the collection of folks with some way out there problems to contend with...

Great stuff though, you are a better man than I Chemlak Brown...

Pathfinder Adventure Path, Lost Omens, Rulebook, Starfinder Roleplaying Game Subscriber

Not likely to need hospital trip: badly bruised and a deep puncture that's about 7mm long, making it very hard to walk. Got it cleaned within seconds of the injury, and I'm taking painkillers, so unless it gets infected, first aid should be good enough.

Christmas is otherwise going very well, and I hope you're all having a good time.

Pathfinder Adventure Path, Lost Omens, Rulebook, Starfinder Roleplaying Game Subscriber

I've finally fixed the dropdowns in the UCam sheet. I think. Only on the Excel version so far (I'll sort the OO version when I get back to my desktop).

More updates will be forthcoming soon.

Hope your foot isn't feeling so bad today.
My suggestion for the future - don't do it again...
:)

Pathfinder Adventure Path, Lost Omens, Rulebook, Starfinder Roleplaying Game Subscriber

Foot is a lot better: I can almost forget it's hurt, most of the time.

Back at home, now, so I can sort a formal update of all versions of the sheet for the fixes I've done. Tonight is game night, so I probably won't be able to do much else. One of my New Years resolutions is going to be finishing URule, though. Please, please, please send me encouragement, otherwise I'll procrastinate even more than usual.

"Chemlak you are the best!"
[Encouragement sent, hope is enough]

Wish you a fruitful and happy new gaming year!

Glad to hear about the foot...

Do not make me employ my digital whip to get you back on track....

Heh heh heh - the beatings will continue until morale improves...?

Pathfinder Adventure Path, Lost Omens, Rulebook, Starfinder Roleplaying Game Subscriber

Why am I suddenly thinking of my players' kingdom's magister, who is a redeemed succubus?

... I'll be in my bunk.

Putting your best foot forwards, no doubt. :)
