Could backfire--if you do it before the stats get finished, I'll have to default to 5e "yeah, he rolled a high number on the d20, it probably hits" rules.
I'll be off for the next few days--my girlfriend's moved here from Ohio and we're going to be housesitting for the next week or so.
Oof, I am sorry--I spent all day working and have no energy left. Either tomorrow or the day after, I'll get up a post to describe the journey and the arrival.

Stealth seems unlikely, given how un-stealthy we are, so I personally think we should just do a 600 MPH zerg rush at the entrance and try to get in an audience with Krathanos before the gargoyles delay us.

So, you're here to learn where Dragotha's phylactery has been hidden. This Library's magic has wiped out almost all knowledge of what happened after Dragotha stole Kyuss from Kuluth-Mar. You don't know exactly what the Hierophant is after, but he's the chief servant of the god of secrets on this plane.
I feel I should ask--is Astraden doing this as a plan, or is she doing it because she's the wild card and there weren't any brakes around to cut?
It's good to keep in mind in situations like this that if anyone dies it probably won't be the instigator, but the people jumping in to help them. =/
Krathanos is unpredictable, but I want to be sure I'm not missing some strategy Astraden has here beyond goofing around with her buddy Krathanos.
I wouldn't want to retcon it, this just kind of stuck out as seeming out of character for even Astraden. I understand she likes to needle authority, but in the past she's mainly done it verbally, in ways that are difficult to retaliate against. Social sparring if you will, where Astraden fights dirty, but others are still shackled by social mores that would prevent them from actually doing anything about it except snipe back.
Attempting to bruise the ego with something that can be misconstrued as a physical attack (in the same sense as like, throwing your drink in someone's face at a party), and thus retaliated against similarly (and disproportionately) isn't something I would have expected from her, especially in a setting where the subject is NOT shackled by any sort of social construct that would prevent him from crushing her like a bug.
I'm generally a big believer in avoiding, like, punishing players because they misunderstood the Vibe, since that's as much on me as them. That said, in this case, it may be too openly disrespectful for Krathanos to take well. If he doesn't catch it, he won't be pleased.

Come to think of it, this might be a PNW sort of problem.
As a new yorker who once had three roommates who were all in a band... I kind of was that neighbor, by default. ('Guys, seriously, it's 3 AM, maybe not the best time for practice...' Roommates would nod, acknoledge me, and respond by turning the bass amp down by.... half a point?)
I'm gonna be taking a few days away from the Paizo forums. Things got to be a bit too much for me. I'll still try to post, but in general I'll be staying logged out to avoid temptation.
Okay, this next post is actually going to take a little longer than I'd expected, and work's speeding up a bit. I'm going to work on it in small steps over the next few days. There's very little guidance on how to run this encounter in the adventure.

Okay, it should be tomorrow. I've worked out basically everything except exactly which buffs they've been able to throw up before you arrive. It takes a while to work that out when you have multiple high-level casters.
Did I really say tomorrow? Haha, wow, that confidence. Yeah, but seriously, I've just about finished the buffs! I just need to sort the placement and set the scene and then you can mess these guys up. Soon.

You know, I'm not a huge fan of rules-light systems. Except times like these.
Anyways, I'm pretty close. The placement is mostly sorted. Just gotta polish it and then we can start. Maybe tomorrow, if I'm lucky? Let's veer on Sunday's side of things.
