A question for the Keratin spikes - would you get proficiency with them, or do you suffer -4 if you don't have martial weapon proficiency? Basically most characters who do not wear armor also do not have martial weapon proficiency. Would be nice to be proficient with your hair as well.

At Kublacon, I was told they did not. Very frustrating, as the only other person I found there who had one (that hadn't just blown it on bonekeep) was either playing at my table or I was at theirs.

Without further clarification from Paizo, I would go with this line in the PFS Guide:

PFS Guide v4.3 page 39 under Game Master Rewards wrote:
The GM may select any special boons bestowed by a Chronicle sheet, such as free magical treasure, regional boons, or future bonus die rolls.

I know it is a little shaky because it is in a section talking about rewards for running a Scenario, but without further guidance from Paizo, this works for me.

GM hat says no. It's not like they're natural weapons you're born with, like a changleing's claws or an orc's bite.

That line is specifically for a Chronicle sheet received for running a scenario.

So here's another question I was asked by a player:

The sheet indicates that this is an alchemical elixir. There is an alchemist discovery that allows you to take an elixir, then spit it back into a bottle. I am sure this doesn't count for this boon, but I really thought I needed to ask.

I'm confused on Reflective Retinas, the PRD says this for Low Light Vision (LLV), then it says this, and now Reflective Retina says 3x the distance in dim light if you have LLV. So is this just dim light (as the abbreviated LLV version states), or is it any radius as per the more detailed section states under Exploration (Vision and Light)?

I don't like quoting myself but wanted to try and figure out the answer to this before I use the Elixir. Delightfully there are like 4 different descriptions I've found (so far) on LLV, so the question is which is right and how does the Elixir work? I'm guessing right now that it triples the radius of all light radii, given that the description is similar to that under Races but Races appears to be very abbreviated and the consensus I've read on the boards seems to point to it operating like it says under Exploration w/ the addition of the moonlight comment from the Glossary.

Description for Races with LLV:
X Race can see twice as far as humans in conditions of dim light.

Description of LLV under Glossary:
Characters with low-light vision have eyes that are so sensitive to light that they can see twice as far as normal in dim light. Low-light vision is color vision. A spellcaster with low-light vision can read a scroll as long as even the tiniest candle flame is next to him as a source of light.

Characters with low-light vision can see outdoors on a moonlit night as well as they can during the day.

Description of LLV under Universal Monster Rules:
A creature with low-light vision can see twice as far as a human in starlight, moonlight, torchlight, and similar conditions of dim light. It retains the ability to distinguish color and detail under these conditions.

Description of LLV under Exploration:
Characters with low-light vision (elves, gnomes, and half-elves) can see objects twice as far away as the given radius. Double the effective radius of bright light, normal light, and dim light for such characters.

Clearly we need an army of yellow tengu named Boco.

I know at least one halfling who thinks he's a goblin and is probably (OOC) going to take #16 to help with the disguise.

Given the lack of gnome art and miniatures, I've been using a halfling avatar and mini for this PC, so #16 is tempting.

Of course, these are two races that are similar enough to begin with, that there shouldn't even be much of a penalty in the first place, but still...

Hmm... While not a discovery, but a formulae, Alchemical Allocation does specify allowing elixirs to be spit out as you describe... Mike, Mark, I think you want to field this one. I'm sure the answer will be no it doesn't work that way, but RAW it probably should...

This extract causes a pale aura to emanate from your mouth.

If you consume a potion or elixir on the round following the consumption of this extract, you can spit it back into its container as a free action. You gain all the benefits of the potion or elixir, but it is not consumed. You can only gain the benefits of one potion or elixir in this way per use of this extract.

Funny as that would be for my own alchemist, no, the alchemical allocation extract does not function for the Emerald Elixir.
