The snowman map was a delight. I told them "someone made this and it was so cute I had to use it!" Well, the group had apparently been hit by a Wisdom Drain or something because TWO of the PCs approached the Snowman and were hit by its scream. At which point the three Medium-sized Ice Elementals (which I upgraded the encounter to be as the group's at 3rd-4th level)) proceeded to do a number on the group. I easily could have killed a PC if I'd tried (instead I had one elemental switch to a different foe because that foe hit it for half of its hit points - logical switch, and it nearly killed THAT PC with two hard hits!)
Amusingly enough, the battle never actually took place in the rest of the map. The Elementals came onto land to go after the two stunned PCs and didn't bother trying to draw them into the icy river. Even more amusingly when they realized I wanted to have them walk across and show me their path? They immediately remembered the story of the kid falling through the ice, moved 50 feet down river, crossed THERE, and then moved back to the trail. Thus bypassing the weakened ice. ^^;;
So thank you again for the map. :)

I'm planning on shredding some paper and spreading it over the maps to simulate the snow. When we get to the portal it will cover everything; I can simply brush it aside as they move and cover up their path as they go.
That's a cool idea.
...although now I'm thinking about doing it with mints, and allowing players to eat their way in...

If only I could guarantee that the shreds stayed on the table (we have a puppy and a cat that eat anything)... That's such a great idea.

These maps are extremely awesome. We'll be starting in about three weeks and I'm pleased that I'll be able to use these maps in my game. I'm just hoping your game stays ahead of mine so I can keep leeching from your superior skills.
Once I get a bit more money I may have to do this whole buy something off your wishlist thing.

Just downloaded it and looked at it and it is correct. The PDF's layout in a 3 across x 2 down format (Six Pages)
1 2 3
4 5 6
Everything matches up. What are you getting that is wrong?

Thanks for all the work you have done with the maps. I really like how they look and I'm planning on using atleast some of them. There is one problem with them for me though, the grid is not dark enough. I know dark grid over the map is not all that pretty to look at, but when gathered around the table it really makes it much easier when even those players who can't stand right next to the battlemap can still see in which squares they and their enemies are.

I'll keep that in mind. It is hard to find the right balance between too dark and too light with the grids. Let me ask, are you printing in color or b&w? On inkjet or laser? I ask because I may hve some tips for you on getting better printing results.
I print mine on everyday glossy photo paper (about $12 for 100 sheets) I set my inkjet printer settings to premium photo paper and the grids come out good except for a few instances where there is a lot of shadow close by.

I admire your work!
In that case I will give you a small preview of the gate area for the howlings I am working on....
Of course it is not finished yet but you can see the style of the buildings etc for the map.

Im using Inkjet printer and printing in color. Ive been using highest/best result settings but ive been printing on regular glossy paper you might see in everyday offices, not one meant for photos.

Hey all, I just thought I'd share my own VTT map for Snows of Summer. I'm running a variant of the first book with 6 PCs so I increased the encounter size at the lodge. In doing so, I created a small encampment of tents outside of the lodge where conscripts to the men inside can be found. I had to recreate the map by hand in doing so, using all manner of map and texture assets. The lodge itself was redone by hand to match the floor layout. Everything was put together in photoshop.
Hope you all enjoy!

I just wanted to thank you again for your awesome maps. I have them printed and taped together now. I rolled each of them and secured them with a rubber band and they really feel like maps now. My players were really excited and impressed. It really makes a difference compared tio whatever crap I draw on the battlegrid.
You da best!
