I think it's time I toss out an interest check again, as well as any criticisms. I've been PMing and PMed, but I want to air this out. Even though this is a PbP, I see it the same way as I do a RL table. So I'll start:@Harakhty: I'm not sure of the direction you're taking your character, but there's an entire party here at your disposal. My NPCs can't solve all problems. Please ask the party to help you or, at least, try and work yourself back into the group as a whole.
I generally let characters take themselves places, but if I had to ascribe a meta-push to Harakhty, it would be this:
He has been separated from his people, whom he knows now are near. There is a series of tasks (as cleansing the island seems to not be simple) he must do before he can be reunited with them in good faith. Directed as he has been for much of his history, he can stave-off the despair and resentment that comes from the separation and lost time. However, were he allowed the downtime to brood ... it might be time for another alignment shift.
Presently in game though, that's not happening (yet). He is rotating among the NPCs at present because he doesn't want to ruin the wedding(s) with threats of doom from abroad. Naeem is his primary goal, and with his thoughts about him so often, he understands perfectly well the desire to be left alone with that special someone, unburdened by worldly problems. Skaar and Nicatha he was willing to trot off with as the hedonism / mysticism seems to exempt them from the more fragile interpersonal ties at the moment. Arista, Drago, etc. though? Way too sticky with their own interpersonal tracks/conflicts at the moment for Harakhty to involve himself much with the threats about.
And besides this is the whole idea the two weddings makes him feel very lonely. He has been avoiding them in part due this (though in all honesty, mostly because the pending threats aren't exactly rosy), omitting any mention of it he can because it hurts him to admit, even tacitly, he'd wish the same for himself right about now. The more he's involved with them, the more the anger and frustration with his current situation will build. As a wise character, he can see that emotional trainwreck waiting to happen, so he obviates the situation by keeping himself busy.
Or trying to anyway. I know we have some time at the fort. In this time, he's trying to get to know the NPCs better. He's acquainted enough with the PC party to know their strengths; this is why he's exploring the NPCs more. For if the players can't (either due to being preoccupied or inability) discern / help prevent the problems at hand, he will seek out others that can. And when he did take a pair of PCs on a mini-adventure, he was scolded.
I suppose once the handful of personalized threads begin to align themselves more, we'll have more party cohesion. For now though, as in-game(and, I thought, out-of-game) downtime, such directionlessness is to be expected.
Ya know what...? I totally get what your saying and appreciate the thought and care you've put into playing your character. It makes sense to me why someone who is missing his people so badly would disassociate from his peers when he sees them so happy.
But remember, we are all still a team and as such we do our best to help each other out. That means with the good, the bad, the ugly, and even the super crazy stuff. You can't just assume how people will react to things, or that we are too busy to help. Even Arista, with everything that's going on...still found time to go down into some super scary catacombs with Cyna and the others to help out Hadrinn. Sure...we almost got eaten by a super nasty gargoyle, but that's just life. Don't be afraid to ask for help, and btw...Arista did apologize for jumping all over everyone. You were there the last time we encountered Reinhardt though, and even though you had no way of knowing he was out there....should have been able to at least guess some of our reactions to it. Arista let her emotions get the best of her, and in life that happens sometimes. We just have to keep pushing forward and forgive and forget.
It's a new day and not all of it is going to be taken up with plans, her family isn't even due till later tonight or the next morning....so, if you need help, just ask. Who knows, swingin a hammer at a wall might just do her some good. ;oP

Sorry about the silence, was watching my movie. Trying to wake up Henry now, but mr sleepyhead can be difficult to rouse sometimes. We slept plenty today, he shouldn't be that tired...but I guess it is what it is.
Well....I guess I'll try to be patient and give him some more time. I guess I zapped him more than I meant to....maybe that's why I'm feeling so jittery right now. I wasn't trying to do that....*sigh* I guess all I can do is let him sleep a little longer and see if he gets any of it back.

Skaar isn't actually a hedonist, he's just an Orc that's had a hard knock life and as a result takes pleasure and joy wherever he can get it without apology.
That said, I have another character that's definitely a hedonist. One of Harakhty's alter egos is pretty familiar with him.
He's still sleeping.....oh, so you were saying yay hedonism cuz I made Henry pass out with my sexual prowess? Huh...okay, I guess that's accurate. I didn't intend to suck the energy completely outta him though.

The bathroom's more or less done. Painting is finished and fixtures/hardware are all in place. I just need to sweep and clean it up.
I've got netflix with a bunch of Anime, some movies, and then there's my video games....guess I need to go find something to do before I get too restless.
I bet it looks really nice. We really gotta find a better place with a safer bathroom. Like one of those tubs with the doors that you can just step up into...or a really really large walk in shower, with a bench. I've always wanted one of those.....
A shower with a bench is awesome! Had one once, would love to be able to have that again.
It's more or less a safety issue with me. Bench in shower means less likely chance I'll fall in it. LOL

Well, since I had to stay up to wash blood outta my scrub bottoms I thought I'd take a look and see what was going on. I had to wash them right away even though I washed the worst of it out with peroxide. So, I guess I'll be doing laundry and then making breakfast in a little bit once Henry stops feeling grossed out from my explanation of how I got blood on my pants.
