I'm going to be on vacation but still somewhat accessible, day after V-day is my anniversary, so have the week off starting later today. This is my last night of work for a week.
3 hours northeast of us. It tends to be colder and shadier than out here, so it takes a while for things to melt to a safe level.

Got some bad news today. My best friend's mom, Anne Marie, was hospitalized for pneumonia the other day. Unfortunately, she lives in California and I can't really do anything for her. She is a very special person to me, I consider more like my mother than my own. This isn't going to really affect gameplay, but I wanted to vent a bit and ask, if you do pray, to just send some positive thoughts out for both my friend and his mother.
Healing energy sent.
I hope for her recovery.

Just a heads up: I'll be out of town Monday, Tuesday and probably most of Wednesday visiting Arista's folks/doing our taxes.
Update: My friend's mom is still in the hospital but she's stable. This has really been tearing me up inside. Thanks for all your thoughts and prayers.

Just an FYI for everyone. Due to an unfortunate incident with a vampire, my work shift is changing from 0400 - 1230 Mon - Fri, to 1930 - 0400 Sun - Thur.
Since I had designated Sundays to spend with my wife, this shift will cause me to not even turn on my computer during the weekends to spend as much time as possible with her. I will be able to post Sunday nights while at work, but it will be limited. During the week, I will mostly post at night, since I will probably be sleeping during the day. I apologize for the inconvenience, but it's what I have to do.

Well, welcome to our world, Drago. Been doing the 2300-0700 shuffle for 3 years and Arista's been doing it for 5.
Yup I'm 7pm to 5:45 am 4 days a week and keep a similar schedule when I'm off.
When I first started working this job, I had a Midnight to 0830, Sun - Thur. On top of classes from 1800 - 2200 Mon - Thur. So this is an improvement at least.
We've returned. It was a strange trip to say the least. I found out my barber died back in November, his shop will be probably be closing Saturday and people are quickly telling me who to go see instead. *sigh* We found an abandoned dog for Arista's parents and that was quite the adventure. Last, but not least, my friend was distraught and called me at 4 am, but he didn't realize I was off and asleep. The next day his mother improved, she actually woke up last night and is cognizant of where she is, but she still can't talk. I finally got some sleep myself...
Well that's good to hear. Hope she talks soon.
We are hoping for her continued recovery. Neither one of us has been getting much rest since it started even though we sleep, if you know what I mean. The abandoned dog was a female german shepard mix that looked to be roughly 3 months old. She was exactly what my parents had been looking for, even though when I brought her to them they tried not to act very excited. He tries to act tough, my dad is a softie when it comes to animals at least. He was loving all over her, even before we left back out of the driveway. Valentines day was my mothers birthday, so as we were pulling back out to head back to town to do our taxes I yelled out, Happy Birthday! It was all sorts of weird, but good nontheless. Sometimes things happen and even though we don't always know or understand why they always seem to work out. Like he said we are back home now, and hopefully things will start getting back to some kind of normal.
Anyways, just wanted to give everyone an update. Thanks for all the support.

On the the boat ride, I would like to switch out Enlarge Person for Magic Missile as my Arcane Revelation. I just want to make sure that is kosher.

Drago, hope things get better for you and your wife. I know new schedules and everything can be difficult to deal with, but it will get better once you get a routine down.

I don't mean to be pushy. If you don't want to, then please don't feel obligated. I just wanted you to know how much I like them and how useful they are. I have saved them all to a document, which I refer to frequently when writing Nicatha's dialogue. :-)
