Background:

Chyle was a bastard from house Lebeda, and like most, he was disposed of. He was raised by a poor alchemist and his wife in New Stetven, and they treated him well.
Chyle took a liking to experimenting with alchemical ingredients from his "father". Sadly enough, late in his twelfth summer, he got his father's key to the cabinet with his special ingredients. Chyle were in the process of combining two unknown substances, when his father came into the room. His father ran and threw himself on the ongoing ignition. Chyle survived the resulting explosion, with his foster father as meat shield. In guilt, Chyle ran away from home.
He slept in the streets one night, the next day he couldn't find his way home and ended up on the streets. Trained in the art of stealing and surviving on the streets, he lived on.
Well into his 24th year his earlier crimes combined with a failed violent robbery of a well known noble got him a death sentence. Chyle escaped prison by using his alchemy talents to make a bomb of some ingredients traded into the prison with the help of some buried ill gotten goods and its location.
Chyle took his backup money from its hiding place, and fled the city.
My answer to your wink:
On the way out to nowhere, after a week of hard riding to the stolen lands(Chyle wanted to travel to a place where he wouldn't meet anyone who could recognize him) as he stopped in an inn for the night. There he saw a noble named Viklop Kolavar, who were also in alligency with house lebada. He felt the same usual hatred of the nobles after what they did to him, but he wouldn't want to confront him. That would lead to nothing except more troubles.
Next day when he traveled along the main road he heard battle around the corner. He carefully peaked from behind a tree. He could see Viklop Kolavar and another one, probably a friend. Hiding around 80 feet away, he could see an archer aiming an arrow at Viklop Kolavar. Chyle didn't know why he did it, but he took a bolt into his crossbow, aimed at the archer and shot. The bolt went into the head and the archer collapsed. Chyle got on his horse and got away before anyone noticed anything.

Description:

Chyle is Sleek and strong and could be handsome if not for his hard gaze and his scars. He is a bit low, but he won't need height when he is shooting from afar.

Silver Crusade

Karys send me a PM.

Now that I had a chance to read the character backgrounds, I updated my own with a BIG OLD HOOK after reading Fionn's background. I strongly encourage that player to check it out, particularly for a certain letter that he might or might not have received at some point in the past.

Sorry about it being kinda last minute, but this was the first opportunity I had to really examine your characters' backgrounds and adapt my own. It included increasing my age a bit to match some minor details in Fionn's background.

Are you bringing Pie?

Fizzy's eyes narrow.

Yes.

Rekka's new thing is cake. You should bring some of that too!

wait till rekkla tries pie

I'll wear a short skirt and a long jacket under my fur robes just for you.

New roll for new character

Sovereign Court

Let me introduce Tomas Aldori. Back story, part 1, in the profile. Crunch being sent to BloodWolven.

somethign to think about. There is already a Bard in the party. Always room for more, but food for thought.

Of course a second bard doing Inspire Courage lets Fizzy use his Mock ability

And here is with the proper character. This is Karys Lan Night, btw.

Sorry, Fizz, it was actually the wrong Aldori. I'm completely in love with the Aldori Dueling Sword.

1d10 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7 (HP for level 2)

Menus sorry sent the character direct to BloodWolfen didn't think to put it up here.

Silver Crusade

Fizzy, Torq, Klaus, and Rekka send me your votes. They or one of them will not be coming in on this fight.

Tomas it is unanimous we would love to have you join us, we think the front line fighter will fill the position the best. The magus not so much. Sorry Narrator, I will still keep you on the backup lists, when an opening comes up I will PM you. Remember I got 4 campaigns running right now, and your name is on the top of my list! :)

Thank you and good luck!

Have fun

Let's see if this brings any interest. Kingmaker game looking for one player possibly two. We are posting at once per day and finishing up the exploration in Book 1, leading into Book 2.

I'd love to jump in on this. What's the party composition looking like? creation rules?

Thanks

I'd be interested as well. I've played part of book one in a game that fell apart so I'm familiar with the setting, but not much else.

dotting

Gestalt

Gnome bard/witch 3
Elf Fighter (archer)/wizard 3
Dragonkin fighter NPC
Elf Ninja NPC

Build Rules:

Level 3
abilities:
I am not a fan of the buy out systems, so roll 5d6 seven times. Taking the three highest of the 5 rolled and adding them together. Six of these will be your stats. Please show the dice rolls on the recruitment page.
One more twist to help your characters to have that little boost to be excellent in what you do. You may take away from one stat and give it to another. But the top stat cannot be more than 18 and the bottom no lower than 10. But only one time.
So for example you have 11 and 15. Take 3 away from 11 and give 15 those 3. So the 11 becomes 8 and 15 becomes 18.

traits:

2 Traits, and one campaign trait... see the player's handbook.
Roll for your money or take average, but your background story is where you can gain more!

Create a quick blurb about your appearance.

background:

The more interesting your background story the more bonuses you might stumble upon or requests granted. Make connections between yourself and other NPCs and PCs. After all you will be carving out a kingdom together. Such connections could be nobility, guilds, entities, dragons, magical beasts, gods, societies, towns, the townsfolk, the people in charge, etc.
I've long thought that character backgrounds are where players should offer plot hooks to the DM instead of the other way around, you then have more buy into the campaign.

I would suggest just bringing your base class and develop your gestalt class with something special happening later. None of my players started gestalt.

5d6 ⇒ (2, 5, 4, 6, 5) = 22 becomes 16
5d6 ⇒ (6, 6, 6, 2, 6) = 26 becomes 18
5d6 ⇒ (1, 1, 3, 1, 5) = 11 becomes 9
5d6 ⇒ (1, 3, 1, 1, 2) = 8 becomes 6
5d6 ⇒ (5, 4, 3, 4, 5) = 21 becomes 14
5d6 ⇒ (3, 2, 3, 5, 1) = 14 becomes 10
5d6 ⇒ (6, 6, 4, 4, 5) = 25 and 17

I'll drop the 6, lower that 17 by 1 and raise the 9 by 1, for an array that looks like
16, 18, 10, 14, 10, 16.

Interesting. Thinking on a monk of some sort. I'll hit the books!

Sounds interesting Redbeard. I will take new applicants until Thursday and choose either that night or Friday. Get working on those stories! ;)

5d6 ⇒ (2, 4, 1, 2, 3) = 12 = 8
5d6 ⇒ (3, 3, 3, 1, 5) = 15 = 11
5d6 ⇒ (3, 4, 4, 6, 2) = 19 = 14
5d6 ⇒ (1, 2, 4, 1, 5) = 13 = 11
5d6 ⇒ (5, 3, 1, 3, 3) = 15 = 11
5d6 ⇒ (2, 2, 6, 2, 5) = 17 = 13
5d6 ⇒ (4, 2, 6, 4, 2) = 18 = 14

interesting equals a 16 point buy and not enough to move things around.

yeah not what i can work with in comparison to what the party has already.

would just be a mediocre liability

had an idea for a shaman - hunter, tracker, scout. but stats will not support that, will end up being all talk and nothing to back it up.

5d6 ⇒ (3, 2, 6, 4, 3) = 18=13=10(adding 3 to a fifteen)
5d6 ⇒ (3, 6, 2, 1, 4) = 16=13
5d6 ⇒ (2, 5, 2, 2, 6) = 17=13
5d6 ⇒ (3, 5, 1, 1, 6) = 16=14
5d6 ⇒ (5, 4, 2, 6, 4) = 21=15=18
5d6 ⇒ (5, 3, 3, 2, 3) = 16=11 (ditching this roll)
5d6 ⇒ (2, 1, 5, 5, 5) = 18=15

will have a character up shortly.

Edward you may re-roll, but you will gain a curse and are stuck with the new rolls.

A Bastard of Two Worlds:

Calathes was born a bastard, his mother a Chelexian immigrant while his father an Elven noble. Calathes's mother died at age ten from disease, leaving the boy to fend for himself. So Calathes did, he fought, he survived and ultimately he found himself not torn just between two races but two worlds as well. Calathes managed to scrape together enough money thanks to a lucky find, a box of valuable jewelry that he scavenged from a caravan that was assaulted. The box itself had been cleverly hidden in one wagon that had been for the most part destroyed, it was by persistence that after several days he found the jewelry box.

He successfully sold it through the black market recognizing that the corrupt guards of Rostov would have taken it for themselves had he tried to sell it through normal channels. With several thousand gold coins in his possession Calathes decided to spend it on an education, an education at one of the numerous Dueling Academies of Brevoy.

When he arrived at his selected school to examine it, he was then torn not just between nobility and poverty, between elf and man but between Cheliax and Brevoy. The duelists of Brevoy believed in the use of light armor, the dueling sword and in the use of combat acrobatics. While he was examining them fight he saw what the Academy Duelists and Instructors derisively called a "Chelexian devil worshiper".

The Chelexian human wore platemail armor and carried a greatsword in his hands like it was nothing... When the guide said to Calathes that he should not concern himself with the foreigner and should instead sign up with the Academy Calathes asked for him to prove that the Brevoy style was superior to the Chelexian one. The man affronted arranged a duel in the central chamber of the Academy to show the "superiority" of Brevoyian swordsmanship over Chelexian "devilry".

As the master swordsman of the Academy waded into the fray against the Chelexian the match was decided within ten seconds. Despite the apparent
weight of the armor the Chelexian moved with shocking speed, his first blow sundered the sword of his Brevoyian foe and his second "strike" tripped the man up leaving him sprawling upon the floor. From that moment onward Calathes new his path and embraced the Chelexian side of his heritage.

The man went by the name of Scipio Lansvich and was both an outcast noble of Cheliax and a practitioner of the Chelexian sword style known as the "Scarlet Throne". In three intensive years Calathes learned this style of war and upon his third year Scipio decreed that Calathes had learned all he could for the moment. It was time for Calathes to make his way into the world and into the Stolen Lands. There he would see if he was worthy of being accounted a "Lord of War"... Armed with a true greatsword and the second skin of platemail Calathes now marches to war and glory in the Stolen lands...

Appearance:

Calathes's appearance is far more human then Elven, his face is hard and set by years of poverty and then training upon the battlefield. Despite this he is fairly handsome in a harsh sort of way, what draws one to Calathes however is not his looks but his "aura". When Calathes strides onto the battlefield of life his body language tells you that he owns it. Calathes wears a greek style plate helm (it has a T like visor, you can see his eyes and part of his lips and his nose) to both protect himself and show his fearsome, black eyes to his foes.

His armor is the finest plate and Calathes polishes it daily until it sparkles. The greatsword was a parting gift from Scipio to Calathes and it his most treasured possession (destined to be magically upgraded instead of cast aside). It's blade is pure black steel from the Chelexian forges, the cross guard (the line between blade and hilt) is gold colored steel and the pommel is pure black steel wrapped in leather that features the face of a fearsome fiend at the bottom.

Style of Combat:

Calathes learned from Scipio that to be accounted a Lord amongst warriors he must make the battlefield his court and paint it with the blood of his enemies. His bearing even in the midst of war must be regal and unflinching. While every strike must be precise and elegant, for the wide, crude blows of the barbarian were not befitting of a true noble.

Personality:

Calathes is both on and off the battlefield a character of exceptional calm and dignity. Yet by no means is Calathes a chivalric knight, he is a noble warrior which is a different thing altogether. Calathes is a surprisingly adept fellow concerning matters of nobility, he understands the history and nature of nobles. As a result of this he can be surprisingly effective politician when the need arises, he wouldn't be above blackmailing a noble or arranging an assassination if his enemies had tried to do the same to him.

By the same token however Calathes is not a tyrant, he may take the mantle of ruler or lord but he is not corrupt. For to Calathes rulership just like the way of the Scarlet Throne itself must be elegant and regal, corruption and cruelty are the hallmark of the barbarian not the Lord.

GM your thoughts? He will be built as a Warlord with a focus on the Scarlet Throne Martial discipline.

GM Wolf wrote:
Edward you may re-roll, but you will gain a curse and are stuck with the new rolls.

well considering that I am already cursed by the dice gods, whats one more curse, and since I am psyco enough to tempt fate lets see...

5d6 ⇒ (5, 5, 4, 1, 4) = 19 = 14
5d6 ⇒ (4, 1, 3, 6, 5) = 19 = 15
5d6 ⇒ (3, 6, 1, 2, 6) = 18 = 15
5d6 ⇒ (1, 3, 3, 2, 6) = 15 = 12
5d6 ⇒ (4, 3, 1, 1, 1) = 10 = 8
5d6 ⇒ (4, 2, 1, 4, 2) = 13 = 10
5d6 ⇒ (3, 4, 3, 3, 3) = 16 = 10

well somewhat better, but still unsure

I can drop the 15 to a 14 and boost that 14 to a 15
can I drop the 8 to a 3 then drop the 3 from the stack? (kidding here)

wonder what the curse will be (low rolls? already get that one as a required bonus)

I'll bail on this wont be able to compare to the others.

my idea is a little too much M.A.D. anyway.

and with both active players with two atats each of 18 or better.

I prefer even playing field...

BTW at lower levels stats do make a big difference, (skill checks and saves.)

and Kingmaker is big with skill checks and rewarding high stats

Viluki looks good, I can see him replacing Klaus very easily in the group dynamic.

Thanks for the interest Edward, good luck finding another game.

Redbeard waiting for your submission.

Torn on where I want to go with the submission. I'll do what I can to get it together tonight

That's fine what are you thinking perhaps some insight from me or the other players could be useful. :)

Bare bones of Avax, my martial artist monk coming along.

Eyeing the Brigand campaign trait, I think.

So the next step is tell me how you would incorporate your character.

We will be doing some roleplaying before you enter the other tabs.

how is this going to work?

GM Wolf wrote:

Something along these lines:

Avax was born the youngest male to a family of farmers in southern Rostland. His early life was one of hard work and toil, and simple pleasures. He fought with his brothers for fun, and then the neighbors kids. At times he would even wrestle the livestock. This saw him grow into a young man who was tough as an ox. He found his way into larger cities and fisticuffs events ranging from underground bar brawls to gladiatorial matches. He made a respectable fortune on the prizes, eventually finding his way to Riddleport.

Here was his pitfall, in that he had a gambling addiction, a simple farm boy thrust into wealth he had never imagined. Soon, he owed more than he could pay. He turned to thuggery to try to support his habit. It wasn't long before he was a very wanted man, by both the law and the criminal groups he owed money or favors to.

Sensing the heat bearing down on him, he fled back to Rostland. Upon arriving, a family friend arranged a ride into the southern wilderness and set him up with a charter for exploration. Avax is to join an expedition already in progress. He welcomes the chance to test his abilities, to lay low, and to amass wealth and fame.
