Alchemist's Feral Mutagen question

Rules Questions

Reading through the alchemist's feral mutagen discovery, I found something I was a bit uncertain of: can one make multiple feral mutagen claw/bite attacks without having a high enough base attack bonus? (by using the two-weapon fighting rules) and if so, what's the limit on attacks?

Yeah, say if you're low level and have only one main attack and no iteratives...

...with Feral Mutagen, you can do a standard action to make one attack (such as one claw or one bite)...

...or a Full Round Action and take your Bite/Claw/Claw all at your full BAB, since all three are Primary attacks.

Alright, thanks! Three attacks in a full-round action seems pretty strong for early levels, though

It can be strong, but the alchemist isn't the only class that can get this. Druid pets (and wildshape druids) and summoners can get the same thing. Admittedly, I just mentioned two of the strongest classes in the game....

Yeah, I currently play a lvl 5 Vivisectionist in a very combat heavy campaign.

Getting that full-round action set of attacks is great, it's just that it can take a couple of rounds to ramp up to it, since imbibing your Mutagen is a standard action and making sure you don't get crunched in return with your D8 hit die and low AC require some crafty Extracts/movement.

There's also some fun builds for the Natural Weapon style Ranger that can get the multiple attacks early on. The biggest downside to Natural attacks is that while they start out extremely potent, they don't improve terribly much with level, unlike the other fighting styles. Of course, if your in PFS and know you'll never see higher than level 12 anyway...

That isn't true, PFS can go up to lv 18 currently. I'm playing a feral mutagen alchemist through the eyes of the ten and when we finish, we will all be lv 14, then it's off to modules for the rest of it.

But yes, multiple natural attacks can be rather powerful early on. But later on, not so much.

Really? Because I wasn't aware of any PFS sanctioned regular modules that went past Tier 12. I know you couldn't take those level 14 characters to a different PFS group and run them. Regardless, that's not really relevant to the thread.

Yep, during the levels of the game that are actually played most often, natural attacks are quite good :)
