The Raven King lends himself to being a useful NPC in any sandbox style game. He can be a PC benefactor (with a LN alignment he can get along with heroes and villain's alike), a guild head, major threat, he has so many options for fitting in a sandbox game. His stats make him no pushover and a capable character in any of the above roles and if high level PC do challenge him he can "push back." He inspired several story arcs (even conflicting arcs depending on role in the campaign) in my mind after looking at his sheet. I haven't found another stat block that gave me that creative rush except maybe Helegur, and One NPC from Paizo's NPC codex. I'm a sucker for pregen stat blocks as they make GMing easier. The Raven King just clicked for me I guess.

I'm very happy to read that, Lohan, as it was much the same for me in my own thought processes regarding the Raven King.
He's just so damn versatile and interesting, which I find particularly amazing since he isn't even a spellcaster. My thought experiment, to make a character out of bizarre esoteric options and have it form a greater whole than the sum of its parts, was in every way an absolute success.

Gareth Lharz has had some minor formatting changes made to his sheet and now features a badass new character portrait.
The Raven King also has a new picture.

A NEW CHARACTER!
Introducing Lweoh Estoc, an 11th-level conjurer who worked for opposing kings as a war wizard and artificer of war machines. When he was found out, he fled into hiding in his marching keep! ;D
I've actually had him on file for several years now, but he has only just now been adapted for the Pathfinder roleplaying game.

ANOTHER NEW CHARACTER!
Now welcoming a friend's old character, Neelon Zelbag, a low-level criminal assassin that was revised using the new Slayer playtest class.
Tels |
Neelon has a bit of a formatting issue with the Kukri. The +1 is in the same line as the rapier, but all the way at the end. Kukri also has an extra tab.
@BBT Fairly certain RD uses 25 point buy for his characters.
[Edit] After looking at Neelon, it occurs to me that the slayer class is a great choice for Dark Folk to take.

Yeah, it looks like the text wrap is causing it to wrap around to the right side of the image. I've adjusted it so it can only wrap on the left. Thanks for pointing it out.
EDIT: I've decided to change pictures altogether.

Riva Sarjenka has had some of her feats and gear moved around. She is now the first sorcerer in the gallery capable of using a spellbook thanks to her versatile spontaneity feat. As a result, she is far more versatile than before.

I had a feeling I'd see you using this feat at some point or another :P

I've known about its existence, but I never gave much thought into just how useful it could be, until someone pointed out just how awesome it really is in another thread (explaining all the reasons why).
I'm not convinced it's a must have for all sorcerers, as it requires some investment to get the most use out of it, but it really is quite powerful in the right situation.
Basically allows a sorcerer to be prepared for most anything in the same way a wizard can, provided they have a day's notice and the spells/spell slots, without any of the paragon surge cheese.
I found it well suited for Sarjenka, since she was already a sage sorcerer, and lossely modeled after Edea Kramer/Ultimecia (who is known for plotting world domination, as many mad wizard are want to do).
Any plans on making a Skinwalker character?
Is that a reference to skinsend, or some archetype/prestige class/media source that I'm not familiar with?

Ugh! What a terrible concept! Worst thing since half vampires and androids.
(I can't view the PFSRD from work, since it lags my browser out every time--they really need to fix their site's resource consumption--it's just too large and inefficient.)

Still waiting for the Bread Crumbs encounter, since my Kingmaker party had some RL problems and we will restart playing hopefully the next month...
About the Skilwalkers, the race can be found in the Archives of Nethys too.
I must know how the Breadcrumbs encounter goes, when it happens.

NEW CHARACTER!
It is with great joy that I present to you our newest character, Haylannar Whart, a wondering archmage and master transmuter infamous for transforming into horrible monsters and devouring his foes for their power.
Ravingdork |
Haylannar is, dare I say it, pretty beastly. Kind of makes me think of much more terrifying versions of some Disney villains, like Jafar, Maleficent, or Merlin vs Morgana from the Sword in the Stone.
His dragon form is the same size as an adult red, but is more powerful than a gargantuan ancient red in nearly every respect...
...And his mutant allosaurous form is even nastier.
...And that's not even accounting for things like haste and greater heroism. So, yeah...pretty beastly.
EDIT: Fixed some minor errors on his character sheet.
Interesting fact: He was named for Lamar, from Half Life II.
"Hey Lamar! Come down here this instant!" Hey Lamar. Haylannar. Get it? :P

Gareth would make a good paladin of Ragathiel based on his bastard sword usage. This is helpful, because Ragathiel features prominently in my campaign.

AND YET EVEN MORE TOOLS!
The Spellbook Cost Calculator will allow you to better determine how much it costs to add a given number of spells to your spellbook, formula book, or familiar, how much space within your tomes such spells take up, and how much it will all cost you.
Don't forget to invest in a blessed book first if you plan on paying for a lot of new spells.
Also, if you aren't replacing a ruined spellbook from scratch, be sure to deduct your free-from-levels spells known from the Number of Core Spells column.
I have also placed alternate versions of these two new tools in the Tools section of my gallery that will be compatible for those of you still using Microsoft Excel 97-2003.
EDIT: Ah what the hell, here's a whole bunch of new tools.

Raven King is what first introduced me to the existence of the Eldritch Heritage feat line, and how stupid cool is.... I always at least consider it for a character when I make one now.
Haylannar Whart. I think I just wet my pants.
Alrite I'll throw in my 2c. Should my WotW character kick the bucket this weekend, my backup toon at level 9 is this:
Human (focused study)
Str 24, Dex 17, Con 14, Wis 13, Int 8, Cha 14
Lore Warden 6/Horizon Walker 3 (terrain dominance - astral plane)
Feats:
1 - IUS, power attack, skill focus (kn. nature)
2 - combat expertise, improved trip
3 - eldritch heritage (stormborn bloodline)
4 - combat reflexes
5 - endurance
6 - vicious stomp
7 - greater trip
8 - skill focus (kn. planes)
9 - eldritch heritage (elemental bloodline - air)
Beric uses a quarterstaff to deadly effect, but hides his martial prowess under the guise of a spellcaster. Wizardly robes cover his elven chainmail, and several spell component pouches and a spell book further enhance the illusion. Possessed of a certain low cunning, Beric prefers to trick opponents into assuming he has a caster's skill set. He often uses a spell-like ability (or two) early for that purpose, while really sizing up who would best "benefit" from a quick trip to the floor with a side of cracked ribs.
Beric thoroughly enjoys his ability to use dimension door, and his spellbook is filled with stick figures tearing holes in reality (and literal holes in the book) to appear on later pages fighting monsters or acquainting themselves with the local courtesans. Beric is quite proud of his SLAs, and brags to anyone who will listen about how cool it is being a spellcaster.
Now, Beric doesn't *quite* understand what it is that "real" spellcasters do, but he tries to associate with them whenever possible. When his shortfallings in arcane know-how inevitably come up in conversation, he (usually unsuccessfully) tries to cover them by insisting that spells he hasn't heard of don't really exist. Occassionally this tactic works out when a wizard lets Beric page through a spellbook, giving Beric the opportunity to impress the arcanist with his ability to read (or at least frown impressively at the neat squiggle marks and occassionally nod in "comprehension").

So for the purpose of a Let It Go parody called Let 'em Burn would She'er Falen fit the bill as a kind of counter to Helegur?

Magnificent! Totally made my day.
Still, She'er tends to possess good tendencies, whereas Helegur tends to possess evil ones--though changing their alignment and back-stories to reverse that and better fit your games shouldn't be too hard.
