Yes, he seems to be a fan favorite. What do you guys find so appealing about him?

Kudos to anyone who can find the multitude of hidden references throughout [the Raven King's] character.

Seriously? Nothing yet? Nothing recognizable at all?

Please njoy these two new characters and be sure to let me know how much havoc they bring to your campaigns!

Sootscale look great!

one thing though, escape root is... a bad feat. it wont work when riding because than you arent adjucent... you are "on".
also - no sain DM will allow it.

Even when mounted, you are still considered adjacent to the 8 squares around you (26 if 3D).

By all technical definitions of the English language, immedietly above = adjacent.

I've not met a GM who didn't allow it.

Well.... Mine didn't .....
A team feat that eliminate all AOO for both you and mount ?
It's better than all other feats in the game ....
Also- when both of you move the same time , you aren't moving into squere adjusent ...
It's so not what the feat was meant to do, pitty there was no FAQ yet .

Btw - I really love your gallery ! It pretty amazing ...

Movement related AoO's is hardly "all of them."

It really isn't.

But you are moving through their space, so it's all good.

Respectfully, you really don't know that unless you've spoken with the writer directly.

Glad you like it! Did you get the master link? Sometimes new people only bother clicking the individual links at the beginning of the thread (which are all outdated).

Ofc .... Although I must admit I didn't got to see them all Yet...
Is there a search by class as well?

Pathfinder Roleplaying Game Superscriber; Pathfinder Starfinder Roleplaying Game Subscriber

I think OneDrive has a search box, but upon testing it, it only appeared to look at the file names.

Heading off to see the new Maleficent movie today. :D

Totally going to be taking notes for inspiration and making mental comparisons to Hama, Araonna, Helegûr, and others.

Also, Hama has been updated to incorporate some downtime rules into her character, allowing her to craft many of her items for only 1/4 of their normal price.

Pathfinder Roleplaying Game Superscriber; Pathfinder Starfinder Roleplaying Game Subscriber

My God that movie was terrible!

Spoiler:
Maleficent turns out to be a more goodly fairy than the other three fairies combined!

Spoiler:
The trailers did seem to be hinting that she was just misunderstood and possibly the real victim.

What? why no monks?

Pathfinder Roleplaying Game Superscriber; Pathfinder Starfinder Roleplaying Game Subscriber

Gah! Does nobody bother to actually look through the characters before making such potentially reputation damaging declarations?

Of course we have plenty of monks! :D

Yes, I knew the movie was going to detail her fall from grace towards evil, but what was really disappointing to me was that her evilness lasted less than 10 minutes.

RD, I was under the impression that you had made a wizard that specialized in polymorphing into things. Either my reading comprehension isn't what it used to be or I just plain missed it. Could you help a fellow out and let me know if I, too, am raving mad?

He did: Haylannar Whart. This guy is scary as hell!

That's the one! Thanks, Tels.

Yep. I think I calculated his potential DPR to be as high as ~329.

With a wizard...in melee...who outfights most martial types. :D

While also remaining a full wizard. Best of both worlds!

I'm glad you like it. If you use it, be sure to come back and share your experience here. It's really just a colossal animated object though. The special abilities it possesses aren't even unique (just uniquely named), they are simply my interpretation of how the RAW would apply to such a large creature of that type.

666bender wrote:

They're not as plentiful as other classes (like the sorcerer, for example), but we do have a few. Here's a complete listing from the gallery as of this writing.

Lily Oleander
Meglin Dee
Naya Foreteller
Nudel the Devourer
Sulern Yoruda
Vallairs Urn

I see Raven King got an edit to his write up from last I saw him, anything seriously change?

I'm not sure what the last version of the Raven King you saw was, but the most recent changes include a detailed back story, some new artwork, and a mythic version of himself.

I use 25-point buy in my gallery, since that is what my home groups use.

I don't mind at all! I also encourage people to post their builds/characters/concepts in this thread as well if you prefer to go that route. (I might even add them to my gallery page if I like them enough.)

However, if you create your own similar thread, please do NOT use any naming elements/conventions that I've already used.

For example, don't make a "Darigaaz's Crazy Character Emporium" or some other rip off name. That will only serve to confuse newcomers to the forum.

Maybe "Darigaaz's Circus of Fantastical Personalities" or "Darigaaz's Desperado Ranch Roundup" or something like that? You know, just make it your own rather than copying me (in whole or in part).

Thanks. I just hope the format is followable. It makes sense to me at least.

Ravingdork wheres our character based around Halfling Jinx. So many fun feats and great concepts you can do with that!

Pathfinder Roleplaying Game Superscriber; Pathfinder Starfinder Roleplaying Game Subscriber

Don't have any jinx halflings as of yet.

Honestly, they didn't really strike me as all that effective insofar as options go.

But yeah, they could be a lot of fun nevertheless.

Halfling Sorcerer with the Jinxed Spell Metamagic and/or sluggish jinx might be interesting - certainly the save DC's would be quite high. Would have some nice synergy with Fey/Infernal.

While we may be on this topic, can someone explain this Bolster Jinx Feat to me in detail?

I'm having some problems understanding correctly. Meaning I think it's awesome and I might be overlooking a key factor in it.

Bolster Jinx

Your ability to resist certain effects somehow makes it even harder for creatures you jinx to do the same.

Prerequisites: Great Fortitude, Iron Will, or Lightning Reflexes; Halfling Jinx alternate racial trait.

Benefit: A jinxed target’s penalty on Fortitude, Reflex, or Will saves increases by 2 if you have the Great Fortitude, Lightning Reflexes, or Iron Will feat, respectively. If you have more than one of these feats, the additional penalties apply to all of the corresponding saves.

The way I read it is that if you have the feat Great Fortitude and Bolster Jinx, then when you Jinx someone, they take a -3 penalty to Fortitude saves, and a -1 penalty on Reflex and Will saves. However, if you also have Lightning Reflexes, then they take a -3 penalty to Fort and Reflex, and a -1 penalty to Will saves.

Thank you. I figured as much but was really, really hoping it meant a cumulative penalty on saves for each of Your save boosting feats like Iron Will etc... so if I had all 3 feats it'd be a -6 penalty just from Bolster Jinx alone. Oh well.

Something like a Court Bard's satire followed by a Bolstered Jinx Meta-magic Spell (I'd go Fort and Will) would be quite some de-buff if they stacked. -3 plus the satire (-1 to -5).

So, mine 3 PCs Kingmaker party finally met Bread Crumbs!

Mine Kingmaker Players, STAY OUT, even if we have already done with Bread Crumbs!:

They approached the glade were he was cooking, but their low stealth checks allowed B.C. to hide in the bushes.
They suspected a trap but, while approaching the camp fire, they were unable to locate the 2 traps he had already placed due to the quitting of the Rogue Players and the departure of his PC.

Both Johanna Bear, the Half-elf Oracle of Nature, and Fenir, the Catfolk Ranger fell in a trespasser's boot.
Fenir was hurt by the poison, but she failed only the first save. Johanna was trapped, unable to break the trap, but her good fortitude rolls saved her from poison effects.
Graydrone, the Half-elf Summoner and his Eidolon were lucky because I rolled that B.C. didn't had the time to place more traps.
In the Surprise round and the first one regular round B.C. rolled 2 poor attack rolls with his sling, while sniping, but until the 3rd round the party was unable to locate the hidden kobold due to his awesome(!) stealth rolls and their poor perception checks.
Then Graydone's Eidolon finally located B.C. and Johanna's Animal Companion (the Horse Maximus) charged him!
B.C. asked for mercy, they allowed him to stay alive... and cook for them!
The PCs were thinking about bringing him back to Chief Sootscale, but also quickly understand that bringing him to the Lair was equal to a death sentence for the kobold, and they wanted to avoid this.
I had to decide how to deal with this situation, and thought about having our little kobold be friendly with them for at least 4 days, to gain their trust, and then betray them.
So he cooked for the party for 3 days, while they continued to explore, but in the third night I rolled another Random Encounter, a Will-O-Wisp.
The party fought the aberration for a lot of rounds, but B.C. had already run away in the forest after the first one. When they finally killed the CR 6 enemy (They are level 3 with the first mythic tier), they were unable to locate him because of his new awesome stealth checks!
That's a great opportunity to have him coming back in future as a recurring villain, alone or maybe together with the other one actual bitter enemy, Tartuk the Summoner.

NEW CHARACTER

Unfortunately, my character, Polliver "Caltrop" Mormont, died this weekend, having been murdered by Skinsaw cultists.

In his place, I have created (and now introduce to you) Jackal Maulsons, a 7th-level magus artificer who is notable for his ability to craft magic items at only an 8th of their overall market price, and for his uncanny resemblance to one Nick Fury of Marvel legend.

Is no one going to comment on Mr. Maulsons and all of his badass exotic weaponry?

He has a Numerian knife made of regenerating alien metal, with a monomolecular edge, whose power source glows in the dark. Also arrows that give people leprosy. Freaking leprosy!

Oooh... I totally missed that.

I'm really loving the crafting of Mr. Fu-- I mean Mr. Maulsons. Especially the leprosy arrows, nicely done. My archer has some opium arrows, and shiver, but I forgot about virieum arrows. Need to make those next.

How is he getting 1/8 th the price for crafting magic items. My character, a non p-crafter focused character has Master Craftsman for a feat. How did Mr. Maulsons get 1/8th?

I totally see Jackal becoming some sort of Batman style character. At higher levels, he might just have a magical item for every situation imaginable.

He'd be a nightmare for a GM to handle, essentially having nearly double the WBL of anyone else in the group. If he went Mythic, I could see him taking Crafting Mastery and possibly retraining out of the crafting feats for something else.

I'm definitely adding this guy to my list of badass NPCs to use in a game if I can. While I can tell he's inspired by Nick Fury some, I get more of a vibe of Jarlaxle from the Drizzt series of books by R.A. Salvatore if you know whom I'm talking about.

Grizzly the Archer wrote:

His Focused Overseer feat allows him to earn and purchase Magic Capital for half of its normal value (25gp instead of the usual 50gp to earn in his case). The Downtime Rules state that you can put Magic Capital towards magical item creation costs at a rate of 100gp/Magic Capital.

So if an item (such as a belt of giant strength +4) cost 16,000gp to purchase, it can normally be crafted for 8,000gp. However, if Mr. Maulsons spends additional time earning Magic Capital beforehand (which he can do at a rate of 3/day by taking 10 on the appropriate skill checks) then he will need 80 Magic Capital to cover the cost in their entirety (he also has the option of only covering part of the cost using capital). However, he only needs to spend 2,000gp to get said Capital.

In short, he gets things for 1/8 of their market price in return for greatly extending the time required to gather up the resources and craft it.

In the above example, Mr. Maulsons would have to spend 27 days gathering the appropriate resources (think of it as him collecting/crafting the item creation components himself, rather than just buying them) BEFORE spending an additional 8 to 64 days actually crafting the item (depending on whether he was rushing things, pacing himself, or actively adventuring).

Mr. Maulsons has crafted absolutely everything he carries from scratch, right down to the mundane Craft checks to make his weapons and armor.

Now counting the mundane crafting aspects, I estimate it took him a year and a half to collect all the Magic Capital and to enchant all of the gear currently listed on his sheet.

Since I see him as an artificer by profession who used to own a magical armor/weapons/wondrous items shop prior to selling it off to go adventuring as a specialist agent for various illicit organizations, I think this amount of past downtime works just fine for the character concept.

Pathfinder Roleplaying Game Superscriber; Pathfinder Starfinder Roleplaying Game Subscriber

I meant to say "Not counting the mundane crafting aspects," in the 6th paragraph there.
