Is there a rule that says pets (or Revery's pets) don't get AOOs?

Is there a rule that says pets (or Revery's pets) don't get AOOs?
It's my interpretation of a "mindless" construct that "merely serve as a shield for their summoner, attacking directly anything that assaults the summoner."
It was my intent to rule that a type 4, and above, construct would exploit AoO only on the single target it was facing.

Clang Revery. He's now a fighting machine!
Kwen |
Ding! Kwen is almost completed I think I just need to look at my training points and see if I want a feat
Xenh |
The goblin is "passed out" at 1 hit point? Does my heal check show that he's feigning unconsciousness? or is he really unconscious and at positive hit points?
Who has a sexy high intimidate score? : )

Piter is not quite prepared to start yelling at passed out goblins...
Will help once he wakes up.

Alright I think I need a few more people to post and then I will move the story to the next day/ that night for Loki, in fact I need Zaru to post. Kur'Plugh will post when I get the last person, then I get to mess with Loki's mind :)
so Kwen is ready, I will have to wait for the group to get back to Freeport to snag that feat that I want (weapon Finesse).
Xenh |
Heroes: Who is sorely injured and how much? Without a status line in characters' posts, I've lost track, and the leveling only muddled things.
Everyone please update your mana/hit points in your next post.
Also some idea of your plan will help, so I can fast forward you to your next beating :)

Can we assume we picked up all their food and water? If not, we'll have to go back and get it...

If you would have picked it up then I would imagine you picked it up. So sure you grabbed it.

I think that I have Gwendalyn all leveled now. Still to do:
* Alter her background (as suggested by Xenh) to reflect the greater danger and time of overland travel in the tabletop version of the game: she never ventured further south than Everfrost before being kidnapped, and after using the firepot, she and Sajeek took boats from Freeport to Halas and back.
* Update her gear with loot from the dervishes.
* Finish leveling Zaruksis.
* Finish updating his gear with loot from the boat and the goblins.
* Give an RP response to Loki's crisis and question.
My weekends are relatively free, so I'm optimistic! :)

I've had an interesting couple of weeks. First the assistant supervisor went deaf, and I got overtime. Then the supervisor took ill, and I not only got some more overtime, but even spent some time as the official acting supervisor (on the timesheet and everything). First time ever, and it was more draining than I expected; and I think I'm also fighting off whatever brought down the supervisor, since I'm really tired and have been for over a week (despite getting more sleep). So my point is, I'll catch up with both games tonight, but I'm kind of wiped out and it could take a few hours.
Xenh |
First the assistant supervisor went deaf, and I got overtime.
Eek, how did he go deaf?
You must work in a scary industry it's bumping off workers like flies!
Fredrik |
She took her daughter to the hospital with a fever, got a flu shot while she was there, and twenty minutes later couldn't hear anything except tinnitus. To be fair, she was already basically deaf in one ear, and they think it might be a tumor pressing on the eardrum of the other -- which would presumably take longer than twenty minutes to grow -- but still. It's kind of disturbing, and we lost our last supervisor and our last assistant supervisor to different things around this same time last year, which just makes it even creepier. But it's just the supervisors, so it's probably stress-related. I'm already planning to delegate more than my predecessors if I'm promoted before I find another job, especially since I have urticaria; I'm allergic to stress, and that's not a metaphor. It gives me hives. Literally.

Damn, that's harsh, since most people focus on distress and call it "stress", but there's also eustress, which is much more common.
Delegate away!
Loki My'thrandr |
Not ignoring the Diablerie game BTW.
Waiting for something to go on cave-wise so I can post.
Xenh |
Yay, new word! No problem with eustress so far. Just distress. For example, when I transferred to my current site (where I'm happier than at the last one), my urticaria immediately went away, and hasn't been heard from since. That was just over a year and a half ago.
Hives are absolutely brutal.
Glad your site move is helping your stress.
No worries about your posting :)

What to ask the oracle.....
How about "where should we go to find a small number of orcs?"
Or "if we go east to the shore, what dangers will we encounter along the way?"
Xenh |
Moving The Torture Chamber forward tomorrow morning. Ask the question and move before then, or you're a Cazel snack. Character generation sucks, don't slack : )
An example full attack from Cazel (added for flavour):
Slam: 1d20 + 36 ⇒ (2) + 36 = 38
Damage: 2d8 + 25 ⇒ (2, 7) + 25 = 34
Slam: 1d20 + 32 ⇒ (17) + 32 = 49
Damage: 2d8 + 25 ⇒ (4, 2) + 25 = 31
Slam: 1d20 + 28 ⇒ (18) + 28 = 46
Damage: 2d8 + 25 ⇒ (1, 1) + 25 = 27
Slam: 1d20 + 24 ⇒ (9) + 24 = 33
Damage: 2d8 + 25 ⇒ (7, 4) + 25 = 36
Slam: 1d20 + 20 ⇒ (3) + 20 = 23
Damage: 2d8 + 25 ⇒ (3, 6) + 25 = 34
As a side effect, with no save, the creature hit is dazed (can take no actions, but defends normally, for 1 round).
If you cannot take ~162 damage per round then get er done.

I guess Cazel is more than CR 3?
:-o

Sorry about unilaterally asking the question, but there had been very little discussion and the time had run out. A question had to be asked, as I take threats from the gods very seriously! I tried to come up with the best question that would help us succeed at our mission...

So, for the evil game, Loki wandered off by himself "X" amount of miles to the new goblin cave from were we started hunting. Is that 3 miles from where the hunting took place or 3 miles from our cave?
We are just finding that the dark elf dipped out, out as we gather around the elk correct?
And he was the only one who had really looked at the map, so do we need to make Wilderness Lore rolls to try and find his tracks?

The necromancer stands and joins the others, relaying all that he had learned and showing the map.

Sajeek isn't permitted desert tantrums. Calm yourself John Spartan, imagine how large of a litterbox you are currently occupying.
<sends CR 8 balls of yarn and CR 421 warm rays of sunshine after the party>
He did wander off by himself though, correct?
*shrug*
Not intentionally.

If it makes Sajeek feel any better, I caught a mouse (in my house!) yesterday.

Ha, at one point I was trying to catch it in a corner, where there were curtains. So I had this box, and it covered the corner, and I lifted up the curtains and it was not there (Hide: 15). So I thought for a second, and looked up. Sure enough, it was on the curtain, near the top (Climb: 25). It managed to escape, I got it in a bucket, but dropped it trying too hard to close the lid. Eventually it ran to the kitchen and I got it in the bucket again (Escape Artist: 5 vs DC 25 - no chance).

OFFER TENDERED
If I can get everyone put crazy energy into the game, consisting of solid posts of roleplaying substance, from today until Sunday then you will all ding level 4 on Monday morning.
Somewhere in there I would love physical descriptions of characters, and some semblance of motivations and backstory. My hope is that this will help the group to gel together, and coalesce your character concept further in my minds, now that you've had a few months to look out of your PC's jellied orbs.
If you all go above and beyond your ding to level 5 will come shortly thereafter.
<leaves a trail of levelling breadcrumbs>
Piter de Colmar |
Did Cakkarak find Loki? Did he come back after a bit?
Piter would go looking for them but I don't know what's happening back at the kill site.
Evil JB |
Oooh piece of candy!
As for the kill site I Kur'Plugh is taking the elk corpse, after skinning it's hide, back to the cave to cook some of it then smoke the rest. So far Cakkarak is tracking Loki. Wanted to spend a day giving Loki a scene. I have been posting at work via my phone so it is hard to devote my focus on the game and I'll post a lot tonight before I have to go to my table top pathfinder session. Sorry if things are slowing down slightly on the evil campaign, I'm trying to balance things and get a better grove, also I'm pricing out a few physical copies of some Eq books to make my life a bit easier.
The rest of the party is waiting for Cakkarak to come back or they folliw Kur'Plugh back to the cave, then go looking for Loki and Cakkarak. Alrighty then evil post is up I need a few actions from the group and then I can move to the next scene, or something send my rabid squirrel mage to eat the party :)

Twas a quick post as I'm running to do some errands.
Back in a bit and I'll do a longer one.
