Nogglegrop: Still showing 5 gp and 18 sp, same as when freed. Since then, we earned 500 gp (100 gp each) for our traitorous delivery of an offer to the dervishes; Sajeek bought the casks of Ol' Tujim's, but then Gwendalyn and Revery each chipped in 26 gp; and Ooma gave us a parting payment of 20 gp, or 4 gp each. Don't recall if Noggy bought anything.

Edit: Whoops! I hadn't updated the cash on Gwendalyn's sheet in even longer. Fortunately, I've been keeping track.

Angels bleed from the tainted touch of my caress

For Kwen's search for the threat of the fire I am going to have to ignore that roll. With me asking for a sense motive it suggests there is a motive to sense, and since Kwen failed, Kwen is trusting it to be at face level, even though you/Jeremy might think otherwise.

If you know what I mean...

Fredrik wrote:

Nogglegrop tossed his 100 gold, and his portion of Ooma's payment, to Sajeek to help pay for the bribe that saved everyone, and his portion of the brew :)

male Half Elf Rogue /Markus Vardin Human cleric (Giant Slayer Blackguard Kwenilithmor Eridosan)

alright good call :)

Revery: Where does the +5 misc bonus to AC come from?

Revery (Erudite Enchanter) in somnis veritas // Kspress (Iksar Monk) Your pain is the breaking of your shell.

Must have been the boons for the dervish fight. I forgot to remove them...

Revery (Erudite Enchanter) in somnis veritas // Kspress (Iksar Monk) Your pain is the breaking of your shell.

Nogglegrop:
- What does this mean: "Training points used: 24 (+1 to WIS)"?
- You need to choose 8 spells. And quickened ones count separately.

Kwen:
- Looks good except I still can't tell from the sheet where all the training points went.

Revery:
- Under revision now. I don't have a lot of free time at the moment, and I need some time to choose two spells.

Gwendalyn and Sajeek:
- Not sure if they are ready or not (haven't seen a posting indicating such)

Barbarian Shaman (Luminary Gwendalyn Shaughnessy the Giant Slayer)

There's some alterations I (still!) need to make to Gwendalyn's background, but the technical stuff should all be done.

male Half Elf Rogue /Markus Vardin Human cleric (Giant Slayer Blackguard Kwenilithmor Eridosan)

Undated for the cost of training points, which is now located in the table of 'feats and special abilities', I also have now written down the training point usage into the additional information column as well.

Angels bleed from the tainted touch of my caress

Nogglegrop shows no wealth at all now.

Revery wrote:

Nogglegrop:

I can see how that it confusing, so I am now keeping a running total of the bonus to WIS (12 training points x2 = +2 bonus to Wisdom).

Current training points: 1
Training points used: 24 (+2 to WIS)

Revery wrote:

Done with an asterix next to all the spells he has memorized. The ones that are also memorized as quickened have a */Q next to them.

Angels bleed from the tainted touch of my caress

This is a good time to mention that 5 ranks in a skill can convey synergy bonuses to other skills.

e.g.
5 or more ranks in Sense Heading conveys a +2 synergy bonus on Wilderness Lore checks to avoid getting lost.

Barbarian Shaman (Luminary Gwendalyn Shaughnessy the Giant Slayer)

Sure, I'll keep that in mind for some future level when I'm not trying to suddenly learn a cross-class language skill for a long-term quest. ;)

Xenh wrote:

So that would be a total of 109 gp and 18 sp from Noggy to Sajeek.

Cthulhu-Spawn DM/crazy person

Sajeek is ready, sorry about the wait.

I guess I should mark the coin on Sajeek's sheet.

If you marked off the 104 gp from when Sajeek got the casks of Ol' Tujim's, then make sure that you also added back 52 gp from Gwendalyn and Revery contributing 26 gp each. (She'll be throwing some more cash his way; the timing just depends on when it makes sense RP-wise.)

Also, classes that get spellcasting at a later level normally only get two spells to start. Even with the two bonus spells, that's only four. Sajeek could learn Cure Disease and Minor Healing from his scrolls; but each one would take a full day's study, followed by a Spellcraft check, and then (if successful) the consumption of the scroll and 100 gp worth of spell scribing materials.

Revery & Sajeek: Current XP and Next Level XP are undefined.

Revery:
* You have a negative weight for Sack1 as if you're not carrying it; and also it should be 19.5, not 27.5.
* Training points gained (under Additional Information) adds up to 32, not 29.

Nogglegrop: In lieu of the barbarian having an XP penalty, the other characters received 7 bonus training points. Total should be 32.

The bonus training points were tossed and everyone just took +5 attribute points instead.

Oh, then that should probably be marked down somewhere. As well as the bonus attribute points that we got at the beginning for different things (which I'm guilty of not recording either); Gwendalyn got +2 Wis and +2 Str.

May I suggest Mircyl's Animation, oh weak and fragile one? :) Sure, it can't keep up with you -- but it can keep up with Nogglegrop, so it should at least be with the group. The 22 hp is actually really good, when you take into account its hardness and various immunities.

To recap the bonuses conferred thus far...

Evil Game
Zaruksis: +2 Wisdom
Loki: +2 Charisma
Piter: +2 Dexterity
Cakkarak: +2 Charisma
Kur'plugh: +2 Intelligence

+20 attribute points to Loki, and Piter.
+5 attribute points to Zaruksis, and Cakkarak

Good Game
+2 to any attribute for Revery, Sajeek, and Gwendalyn

Sajeek: +2 to Wisdom
Gwendalyn: +2 to Strength
Revery: +2 to Wisdom

+5 attribute points to Sajeek, Revery, Kwen, Nogglegrop

Also +2 Wis for Sajeek, +2 Str for Gwendalyn, and +2 Wis for Revery (see here).

Danke, was in the process of zipping through the thread to ensure I had all the bonuses for both games, so everyone can post the bonuses.

Bonuses added to both Nogglegrop and Loki's sheet, so we can track easier later on.

_____

Reminder of resurrection rules...

e.g. You die and are brought back by a reanimation spell (level 4 cleric).
- You have 0 mana and 20% of your total hit points.
- Any buffs/negative effects that were in place have been lost.
- You are nauseated for the next 5 minutes and are exhausted
- You have a negative level, taking a cumulative -1 to ability checks, attack rolls, maneuver checks, saving throws, and skill checks.
- You can remove the negative level by spending 1000gp on a Complete Healing spell.

e.g. If the 66% resuscitate spell was cast on you then instead of spending 1000gp on the healing spell you would be spending 340gp.

Revery (Erudite Enchanter) in somnis veritas // Kspress (Iksar Monk) Your pain is the breaking of your shell.

I had not recorded the exchange for training points with ability points on my sheet, so I've recalculated (I think I did it right the first time, and then later forgot, and "fixed" my training point notes).

This is my current calculation. I calculate I would be able to get another INT point at 5th level:

Training points gained: 25 (5+5+5+5+5)
Current training points: 1
Training points used: 12 (+1 Int)
Training points used: 12 (+1 Int)

Ability scores (27 point buy) [= 13, 12, 12, 17, 10, 10]
5 extra ability points (max 18 before racials) (chose Int x1, Con x 4) [= 13, 12, 16, 18, 10, 10]
Racial (-4, -2, 0, +6, +2, -2) [=9, 10, 16, 24, 12, 8]
Posting bonus (?) +2 anywhere (chose Int)
Random bonus +2 Wis. [=9, 10, 16, 26, 14, 8]
Training +2 Int [=9, 10, 16, 28, 14, 8]

Does that look right? It jives with what I already had, except training points were off.

Barbarian Shaman (Luminary Gwendalyn Shaughnessy the Giant Slayer)

The math looks good to me. Reminder to self: Int bonuses to skill points are retroactive.

Edit: Revery's new skill points should be 104. Looks like the bug checked the CC boxes for Appraise and Spellcraft.

Edit x2: You also need to adjust Revery's save DCs and mana pool, as well as pick two bonus spells.

Edit x3: Sack1. The weight in the Loc column is still incorrect, and you still have a negative weight in the Weight column as if Revery isn't carrying it.

Math:
(4 + I) * (3 + L) = (4 + 9) * (3 + 5) = 13 * 8 = 104

Revery (Erudite Enchanter) in somnis veritas // Kspress (Iksar Monk) Your pain is the breaking of your shell.

yes, and thanks for the link. I was going by the RAW and was not going to add the skill points because of that.

Aside from that, yes, I know Revery is not quite clanged yet.

Game master

Sorry everyone, I screwed up and had Kur'Plugh join the conversation when he was supposed to be guarding the wagon. I blame myself and video games, however since the damage was done press on, I'll make sure that this doesn't happen again.

Revery (Erudite Enchanter) in somnis veritas // Kspress (Iksar Monk) Your pain is the breaking of your shell.

Revery is clanged! (thanks Gwendalyn for the help!)

As a reminder, in case anyone's forgot or didn't know in the first place (I had read it but forgotten), you can switch prepared spells by dropping an existing one (free action) and preparing the new one in (SL-Meditation ranks) rounds. That's 1 round if you have a decent mediation level. Add recast time, and then you can cast the new spell! This is for spells already in your book, of course.

Barbarian Shaman (Luminary Gwendalyn Shaughnessy the Giant Slayer)

I recommend everyone in the goodly game use the Temp Score column for Str +3, as on Gwendalyn's sheet, since the totem spirit will make it last indefinitely.

Gwendalyn wrote:

That's a great suggestion for any magical bonus (spell or item), since unlike D&D/PF, they never become permanent.

Sajeek:

* You were given the option of +5 bonus attribute points instead of +7 bonus training points. It looks to me like you just used the +7 training points to get an attribute point, in which case you'd be better off with the +5 attribute points. They can be used to raise an attribute's starting value up to as high as 18 before racial adjustments (and later in-game rewards).

* Please break down how the training points were used.

* This is just to point out a gameplay restriction that you might not have known about. Aside from your two starting spells and the two bonus spells that we all just got, you need Spellcraft to learn more, and it can only be used trained. I don't expect you to short your learning of iksar, so this is one case where it might be worth it to use 5 training points to buy a rank in a cross-class skill.

Kwen: Under Languages, it would be handy to add the total number of ranks in parentheses, such as Elven (4) and Iksar (2). For example, if Kwen and Gwen try to communicate with each other in Iksar, then what would matter would be their total combined ranks (2 + 2 = 4), not their skill. Also, once Kwen learns how to read lips, his 5 ranks in Thieves' Cant will give him a +2 synergy bonus to read lips in that language.

Barbarian Shaman (Luminary Gwendalyn Shaughnessy the Giant Slayer)

Everyone: If you happen to have Sajeek's character sheet up in a tab, see if you can take screen shots, because it's toast. (Do *NOT* reload.) Maybe he has a backup, maybe not, I don't know.

Revery: How does Gwen's sheet look?

Revery (Erudite Enchanter) in somnis veritas // Kspress (Iksar Monk) Your pain is the breaking of your shell.

I'll try to take a look at Gwen today.

Cthulhu-Spawn DM/crazy person

i should have Sajeek's sheet all squared away today. Internet connection has been a little spotty over the last couple of days. sorry about the delays :)

Barbarian Shaman (Luminary Gwendalyn Shaughnessy the Giant Slayer)

Sajeek:

* Validated your new ability scores. Nice.

* The spear is +4 damage in melee, since then it's two-handed from its size. (It can still be thrown one-handed.)

male Half Elf Rogue /Markus Vardin Human cleric (Giant Slayer Blackguard Kwenilithmor Eridosan)

I just saved a copy of Kwen and Sajeek: It looks like the skill points for Sajeek and feats for him are still missing, when he get's finished I'll take a screen shot and save it. Hopefully this doesn't happen again

Revery (Erudite Enchanter) in somnis veritas // Kspress (Iksar Monk) Your pain is the breaking of your shell.

You can save xml of the character sheet. Just go to the sheets view, and click on Download Sheet. Now that I think of it, I think it would be good to do it right after leveling, and keeping the old ones too...

<runs off to download Revery, level 5>

Angels bleed from the tainted touch of my caress

Pretty please, with sugar on top, could we put OOC in the discussion thread, rather than the ingame thread :) I have let it slide as of late, but I'm starting to get a twitch in my eye.

I just noticed that we missed some breadcrumbs, if anyone wants to insert some investigation between when we figured out which way north was, and when we actually went that way. Gwendalyn wasn't particularly curious, to be honest.

Breadcrumbs are behind you sadly, but in this case it is no big deal. It was merely a major landmark of a river.

Angels bleed from the tainted touch of my caress

Are you wanting to play out the splitting up of the party? With one group inside taking part in a wedding (if Revery actually marries his betrothed), and the other group wanders about the forest looking for a warder?

Or would you rather a fast forward synopsis post, permitting everyone to possibly earn roleplaying awards, and then we get the show on the road?

It will likely be about 2 weeks hence.

Revery (Erudite Enchanter) in somnis veritas // Kspress (Iksar Monk) Your pain is the breaking of your shell.

I would favor a fast forward post.

I also was wondering how much leeway you wanted me to take with friends and family in Erudin. If we fast forward, I guess I don't have to worry about that.

In any case, there was no date set for the wedding, so it would not be happening in the next few weeks.

Angels bleed from the tainted touch of my caress
Revery wrote:

Since you're the centre of our little universe right now I will take that as the likely course of action, unless there is a big outcry to the opposite.

It is my intent to move it forward soonly, after I see how everyone reacts to what just happened to the resident 3' of clerical might.

Revery wrote:

As with anything advantages (contacts, information, respect, fame, wares) need to be earned in game. Outside of that roleplaying fluff is fine, so fill your booties.

Revery wrote:

LOL it would indeed be happening in the next few weeks, since we're dedicating this chapter of the game for Revery-centric flavour posting. It is all flavour stuff, so there's no reason for it to wait.

*waves magic DM wand permitting the wedding to fall in place within a 2 week span*

Get married/eloped already if that's your plan, or cold feet if you must : )

Revery (Erudite Enchanter) in somnis veritas // Kspress (Iksar Monk) Your pain is the breaking of your shell.

Damn that magic DM wand!

Okay, okay, drag Revery to the altar kicking and screaming...

Revery (Erudite Enchanter) in somnis veritas // Kspress (Iksar Monk) Your pain is the breaking of your shell.

Gwen:
- Looks good. I didn't see anything out of place, though I didn't check your spells.

Kwen:
- Need to add weight of arrows (6 lb), but short bow is 2 lbs.
- Critical for the bow is x3
- You may want to add weapon types on there.

Sajeek:
- I guess you're still recovering all the lost stuff on there...

Angels bleed from the tainted touch of my caress

Erudin has an amazing library, equaled only by the one in Neriak, I was providing you with a human perspective on Freeport's great library.

As an aside, you will see the post for the one group, and another post for the other. Both have slightly different accounts (lubricated by my slightly different accounts of the libraries). This is on purpose, because it all depends on who you talk to.

tl;dr - Opinions are like a@*&!##s: everyone's got one.

Cthulhu-Spawn DM/crazy person

yeah, I should have Sajeek up today. My internet connection flickers on my computer, so this has been a ridiculous challenge to get the sheet done. It's been pissing me off, more then a bit to be honest, lol.

Revery (Erudite Enchanter) in somnis veritas // Kspress (Iksar Monk) Your pain is the breaking of your shell.

So we traveled three days north, then turned around and went another three days south?

Angels bleed from the tainted touch of my caress
Revery wrote:

I am trying to understand the group's plan TBH.

3 days north got the group to within a few hours of Eruidin.

For any to accompany the duo will be a 6 day round trip.

The same can be said for Kwen wandering out to get Sajeek, and then go back to Nogglegrop will be another 12 days, which will leave the cleric alone anyway...might as well just let the gnome go off on his own, since we're now at 18 days of travel without even counting what is going on outside of travel.

p.s. The more travel the more chance for getting jumped by the things living in the forest.

Barbarian Shaman (Luminary Gwendalyn Shaughnessy the Giant Slayer)

I don't want to screw up anyone else's narrative, but I'm so confused that I'm just going to declare what Gwendalyn does and hope for the best.

Revery (Erudite Enchanter) in somnis veritas // Kspress (Iksar Monk) Your pain is the breaking of your shell.

As far as I can tell, the group was still discussing our plan when we were moved three days south? Or was it just a part of the group?

Barbarian Shaman (Luminary Gwendalyn Shaughnessy the Giant Slayer)

At first, I thought it was just Nogglegrop and Sajeek that were headed to Kerra Isle, since the one was in danger and the other had things to do. I assumed that Kwen and Rev- I mean Brontide would keep on going, since the one was more comfortable in cities and the other had a fiance to reunite with. Then it looked like maybe that didn't happen? So now I'm trying to work around my confusion by writing an independent narrative that anyone can synchronize with or not, as desired.

Angels bleed from the tainted touch of my caress

Just post what you're doing and don't include anyone else for the next post. Once everyone has established their plan, feel free to unite your movements/plan with them.

Angels bleed from the tainted touch of my caress

Mike, dig in on the wedding thing and playing Arwen as well. It's your roleplaying moment to shine.

Oops, that's "[Nogglegrop] gnomes the rudder", not "mans" : )
