ok so im having a little confusion about the half elf cleric favored class bonus from the arg.
"•Cleric Add +1/3 to the amount of damage dealt or damage healed when the cleric uses channel energy."
does that mean 1/3 a point of damage? or 1/3 of total damage, im just assuming it means 1/3 a point of damage, otherwise this would seem over powering.
Yes. It means you get +1 point of damage to channel energy for each three levels of cleric where you choose this bonus.
To elaborate a bit, Pathfinder generally states that you round down when encountering a fraction.
At 2nd level, a half elf Cleric technicallywould do an additional 2/3s of a point of damage or healing when channeling - but you'd round that down, so it's effectively not there.
As an aside, I actually had a GM once who ran the game with all fractionals in place, and it was a nightmare. :P
Indeed, it is intended as a boon in multiple levels of whatever the denominator of the fraction is. In your example, it would be every 3 levels.
Xaratherus, I had a similar situation where our GM used fractional damage.
2 handed weapon with a 12 strength is weapon damage +1. Our GM multiplied the STR damage by 1.5 per RAW, thus doing 8.5 damage one round, 6.5 the next, etc.
It didn't bother me that much.
