Augh, creature sent. Wanted to do two, had to settle for one.

Scarab Sages

Article sent last night, but doesn't seem to want to leave my outbox.

I've shut down and logged in again, and it says it's been sent (fingers crossed).

750 words on magical figureheads, with 2 examples. Would have been more, had my parents not been out of action these past months.

So, what's Wayfinder #9's theme?

Ruyan.

Dark Archive

I really wanted to get something submitted for this issue....

Oh well, there's always #9.

I am available for crunch editing. :D

WINTER! Just a guess...

WINTER! Just a guess...

I wouldn't be surprised if it's dungeon-themed.

And that's a wrap, folks!

Thanks to everyone who submitted one of the 59 articles I received!

NOW, to assemble my team of editors, AND artists.

For the editors, I'll be contacting you all shortly, to inquire as to whether you are able and willing. Consider your schedules and availability for October/November.

As for artists, if you are interested in donating your time and talents to fill Wayfinder 8 with lovely art, please drop us a message, and point us towards your work (portfolios, galleries, DeviantArt, etc.).

Keep in mind that artwork in Wayfinder does get noticed by Paizo staff and 3rd party publishers! We are all about getting new talent noticed! And if you know an artist that is really good and is looking for that kind of exposure, point them in our direction, PLEASE!

Did you get a good mix of article types?

Also, I'd gladly help with the proofing or editing, if you need any more hands.

This is so true. Every panel at PaizoCon and GenCon on breaking into the RPG business or working on Pathfinder talked about how they look at Wayfinder for prospective talent.

Just checking to be sure: Tim, you weren't sending confirmation emails to every submission? Were you?

I was trying, but I have an incredibly difficult week at work (big deadlines, right on the week I didn't need them), so my attentions are a bit occupied. I will try and confirm receipt of everyone's submissions.....

Take your time.

Silver Crusade

Yeah, no need to rush.

Just excited to be taking part this time around. :D

Dark Archive

well i sent 3 or 4 things and never got a confirmation email... *becomes paranoid*

Now begins the long wait to discover whose articles make it in and we can read the awesomeness (I hope!) that will be Wayfinder #8...

59! Woo hoo. How much above the norm is that? Or more importantly how many do you normally use? (Dinnae answer that I can count my copies. :)

I promise not to put back all the missing 'u's, from armour, colour, etc.

If you edit any spells, at least make sure they spell centred correctly, will ya? ;)

Don't trust them. They will edit everything into Orc Taladan!

Hey Tim - sent a possible advertiser your way. Look for an email from Jason Sonia of the always wonderful Stormbunny Studios.

Scarab Sages

You may be getting a message for advertising from Mick Leach, of Eastern Front Miniatures. He's started creating minis for folk tales, including a planned 'Baba Yaga's Hut', and I suggested the possibility of tying it into the upcoming Paizo AP.

Sovereign Court Wayfinder, PaizoCon Founder

Stormbunny Studios is ON BOARD.

Eastern Front Minis? No word yet. I'd like to get all advertisments reserved by the end of November, so yes, I have extended the deadline.

Seriously, more ads would be very welcome for this issue.

Also, theme for #9 is set. I announced it on Know Direction #50's live podcast/Google Chat.

;-)

Good news good news :)

Can't wait to see this edition.

So...since you announced it, can you not also announce it here? :-)

Inquiring minds want to know.

So, what's the theme for #9 - for all the other lazy people out there *whistles innocently*

Ruyan.

EDIT: Ninja'd by the big blue...

Some of us don't listen to podcasts...

We haven't learned how to read for nothing, you know :P

Completely different thing: there were 59 total submissions or there were 59 people who submitted? (I submitted four different things myself in separate mails).

Indeed, as anyone who knows me can verify, I read much better than I listen. :)

I just went and listened to the episode. Tim comes on for the last half hour and tells a touching story of a slain paladin - but not much about Wayfinder. The episode ends rather abruptly, so I suspect there may be more. Anyone know?

Sounded like he said it was goiong to be about "Dork Lads"... But maybe I just heard it wrong?

:)

Dark Archive

What is it? We wonder

Spoiler:
DARKLANDS!!!!

For those unable to listen to 2 HOURS of gamers chatting.....

The theme for Wayfinder #9 will be.........

Spoiler:

THE DARKLANDS!

Call for Submissions will be posted soon, but feel free to start now! Guidelines will be pretty much the same as those for #8.

Wayfinder #9 theme is the Darklands?!

Fire Mountain Games will be all over that issue if I can help it... you know, what with Throne of Night on the horizon for 2013.

Great theme!

We're really grateful that Tim chose to reveal the theme of Wayfinder #9 during episode 50 of Know Direction. If anyone still wants to hear that portion of the episode, here is the video of the episode, just skip to the 1:11:00 mark.

EDIT: Ninja'd by the big blue...

Tried Googling "Know Direction 50" - kept getting 50's rock n rolls, One Direction and Knowledge/Wiki sites - no actual link to the podcast/transcripts/files or any form of downloadable at all.

Gah! Anyone actually know where to go cos it seems to be well hidden.

Try this.

Alas, my Golarion-hopping mashup misadventures of Dork Tower and Lethargic Lad will never see the light of day...

i think you can still sub it... there may still be hope yet! :P

Hi all

Just a quick question from a Golarion neophyte :)

Which books are the best go to point for details that are canon for the Darklands?

Thanks

Anthony Adam wrote:

Into the Darklands, Lost Cities of Golarion, parts 4 & 6 of the Second Darkness Adventure Path & Classic Horrors Revisited

Edit: And in addition to those there's The Compass Stone about the adventures of Eando Kline.

You could roleplay as a Pathfinder chronicler, delving into the mysteries of the Darklands without any clue about them.

Might get an article accepted.
