The new season has been going for a few weeks and I have tried very little of it.

Your Forma is basically a mash-up of Asimov's Elijah Baley stories with Ghost in the Shell. The result is not as awesome as that sounds but it's good enough that I will finish the show and forget all about it after it's done.

Once upon a witch's death Generic anime teenage witch is going to die unless she makesa potion that requires her making a ton of people happy enough that they cry. Very generic but entertaining enough that I will probably finish it.

Witch Watch - yet another generic teenage witch lives with her familiar who happens to be a hot teenage boy and does slice of lifey- magic stuff. Maybe I'll finish it.

Lazarus Crazy scientist is going to kill the world with painkiller. It's by Watanabe Shinichiro - I want to like it. Sadly, it's pretty bland. Almost certainly dropped unless episode three is vastly better than the first two.

Scarab Sages

I saw an article about production on The Legend of Aang: The Last Airbender, a movie sequel to the first series. Oddly enough, without the original voice cast. My daughter was really into that show, and even I liked it somewhat, so we'll have to catch it when it comes out.

For fans of Bakarina, the "My Next Life as a Villainess, All routes lead to doom" movie just dropped on Crunchyroll.

Catarina finds herself caught up in the plot of a different story and must save someone else from Doom flags.

Thanks for the heads up. I'm off to watch it when I get home.

*stumbles in from crayon shin-chan pride parade in inappropriate kill la kill attire through minmay & toad sage's onsen prison school scene* ooooooh, Excitement Beyond Belief!

currently
+ Lazarus 7 down. It's a somewhat philosophical anime posing 'deep' questions couched in a chasing detective plot. There are some wry/ironic points. So it is more adult than most and worth watching right there. Stylistically there are Cowboy Bebop flourishes and framing. I find the opening song annoying (sure - it's trivial).

+ Your Forma 7 done. Again, a somewhat philosophical anime in a more focused simpler detective plot. The points are more Heinlein like. It's not as sophisticated as Lazarus as it's not trying to be artistic. Stylistically it is more straightforward futuristic 1970s.

+ Bye bye Earth 2 7 watched. Strongly moral/philosophical in an action & drama setting. Straightforward story with good to basic writing, thematic artistically. It makes it worth watching season 1 and there's alot in each episode. It's a bit adult with it's thematic world and themes, somewhat silly too.

+ Left my A-Rank Party to Help... 18 down. Episodic moral & action story with a pseudo harem cast in a unique world setting. Part adult, part stupid, but interesting overall. Average writing and animation.

+ Teogonia 6 down. A kids action show but I think it rises above that. Interesting world setting. Average writing and animation but stylistically it has a unique flair.

- Sword of the Demon Hunter 7 down. An exploring plot seeking 'justice' but it's really a series of vignettes with an action hero. Average animation.

- The Beginning after the end 7. More coming into age and power plot for kids. Average animation.

- Brilliant Healer's New Life 7. At arm's length story with some vague morals and action along with a pseudo harem cast. Average animation.

0 Iyanu 8 watched, more animated story than anime. A mix of moral and social education targeting the young. It's interesting and enjoyable but basic writing and crude animation, kinda a niche Naruto.

+ Devil May Cry 8 watched. Entertaining moral/adventure story, stylistic, pseudo antivillian and all (good villians do bad things for the right reasons). Average to good compressed animation. Seems to be reissued.

-- Dragon Ball Daima 2 watched & dumped. Classic dumb fluff.

-- Yandere Dark Elf 1 watched & dumped. Classic dumb fan service fluff, episodes are half length followed by half chibi filler.

Finally got the crew together to watch Overlord: The Sacred Kingdom.

Man, we were glad to have Carbot on tap afterwards to lighten the mood.

New season off to a good start. Plenty of returning favourites along with some new surprise
The Stunned Hero and the Assassin Princesses - Our hero. neigh invulnerable and can kill a dragon with a single punch. Needless to say plenty of folks want him dead. His sole weakness - painful social awkwardness. So bad that he hasn't even been able to join a party. Enter the three ladies out to murder him (well...two trying to kill him, one ...has other plans to ruin him) Each pretending to be adventurers looking for a new party. The Apprentice Sorceress out to learn about he world (IE: Daughter of the demon lord and mistress of black magic), the Holy Priest out to help those in need (IE: Foul Mouthed assassin for hire who can magically summon any weapon) and the Joyful Dancer travelling the world for fun and adventure (IE: Poison and Drug wielding dominatrix looking to add to her collection of pets).
With these trusted companions at his side our shy boy hero is ready for his quest to defeat the Demon Lord.

First episode was a lot of fun. So far the Priest/Assassin is probably my favourite. She's like if Revy from Black Lagoon got Isekaied.

Nyaight of the Living Cat: Take all the tropes of a Zombie movie...but it's Cats. Also seems to include various Cat facts.

That bad?

I am liking The Summer Hikaru Died. Big Parasyte energy, a hint of gay awakening, and no small amount of horror and body horror. A potential classic in the making.

New Cute High Earth Defense Club series starts today.
Set in the Taisho era. Not sure how it will hold up to the original or even to Happy Knights but I am SO ready for our super gay magical girls boys I'll watch it even if it's a slight disappointment.

It was very good. But yes, also that bad.

Somehow I am reminded by the old Perfectual Earth Defense manga.

Demon had Specialization in Improvised Weapons

Apocalypse Bringer Mynoghra had a nice example of the two kinds of Paladin

When confronted by a mystery person who is setting off Detect Evil like crazy.

Paladin A) We are being given a chance to walk away and not all die. We will take it, go home, tell our superiors and get a ton of reinforcements before we come back.

Paladin B) "We are on a Holy Mission, and you will not stand in our way foul fiend"

Paladin A) "STFU Dude!"

What shows are people watching this time around?

I'm sorta watching the Silent Witch, only because our protagonist makes cute faces.

CHEDCL-Haikara is frustratingly delayed in its releases but quite enjoyable. So far it's better than Happy Knights, even if the concept is far closer to the first series and less a unique spin on things.

Clevatess is a moderately enjoyable brutal fantasy series. I think I'm watching it mostly because the name is stuck in my head as 'cleave dat ass'.

Second season of Dandadan. More of the same. I like it.
The second season of A Couple of Cukoos, because I like my dumb high school harem comedies.

Another season of "Rascal does not dream of bunny girl senpai", aka Bakemonogatari-lite. Haven't quite gotten around to watching it but I will. I believe there is a movie I have to watch first.

Grand Lodge

Started Leviathan last night. First episode was good, but our guy that read the books is worried they are converting it directly instead of adapting, making him worry about pacing issues.

after 15 years a 2nd season of Panty and Stocking with Garterbelt

Show is high speed chaos and WTF....

still trying to process the Fast and the Furious parody

Feel like I've out grown this show (15 years is a long time) but I think the younger fans will have a blast with it.

Welp, I have a reason to pick up Disney+ again

My first childhood Anime Crush is back

New Cat's Eye series

My only experience with Cat's Eye is the Lupin III crossover movie.

And we will soon get an announcement about the new Magic Knight Rayearth.

It was already announced and know we're getting an announcement for another announcement. Seems to me as though there are a a couple unnecessary steps there.

I saw Ado did the OP, that was nice.

Got tickets to Infinity Castle tonight, pretty hyped to see it in theaters.

End of the Anime season.

Clevatess was a surprise in a good way but still mostly kid's show.
Rising of the Shield Hero S4, very RPGy.
Dan Da Dan S2, vibrant.
Kaiju No8 S2 good, overall plot arc is there though it is very 'in the moment'.
Gachiakuta has been a good surprise even with the stylistic drawing.
The rest kinda ho hum to several I had to bore-quit.

Cat's Eye? LoL... I don't think it was anything special back in the day, some of it was the usual formula in a turnabout. I'd do something new rather than rehash it or pay for the old I.P.

LoL... I saw episode 1, just a redrawing using current CGI. They kept to the original mostly as it was stylistic.

OMGosh - Speed Racer, Cat's Eye... is Manzinger Z/UFO Robot Grendizer next? I'm not sure people can handle Devleen/Baron Ashura in a red branded baseball cap...

LoL... I'll have to mention "Nyaight of the Living Cat" where a cat borne disease magically transforms people touched into cats (sans clothes) in about 3-60 secs. I have to say the cats are cuter than the original people... Could be a couple of Starfinder episodes...

it can't have been 15 years.

It just can't.

Now I have to watch this. They will take my Freehold license away if I don't.

OK so first one to really catch my attention this season is "May I ask one final Thing".

Start up looks very familiar
A young noble lady engaged to the 2nd prince of the kingdom, finds herself dumped for a new girl in front of the his court of sneering supporters. She takes his false accusations of her misdeeds with grace.

and then she beats the ever living tar out of everyone present starting with his smirking new fiancee and ending with him.

Gotta love a girl who can throw hands with style and grace.
