Yar!

boo-urns is all I have to say. (Also, flagged every post)

Maybe we should all start sending "legitimate" franchise queries to their business manager. Followed up with lots and lots of requests for weirdly specific business reports and further information.

I'm particularly fond of some of their faqs:

"12.Is this a legit website?
Yes.We are selling the items displayed on our website. We have sent many packages to different countries. This is James,a real Person, working for you now,not machine.Thank you."

I feel so much better.

Hey thanks, I checked the flag queue, removed all the spam posts and permanently banned the "fghfgj " account. Any other spam, please flag it so we can find it.

So someone has now adapted a spambot to be able to spam the site's messageboards.

I've done the same. Up to the moment all the posts are flagged.

We've discussed adding a content-based filter to posting but my experience is that just starts an arms race where we have to continually revisit a complicated regex to match their ever-more-inventive attempts to get around the filter. We're trying a couple other things today, we'll see how it goes.

In my experience, a keyword list would be appropriate, and much easier to implement than complicated regex, for this task.

Okay, that's the moral event horizon for this guy.

Thanks folks. This guy got a few posts in before I noticed the flags, but he's gone now. Keep alerting us when someone like this slips through.

How about anything matching the regex only gets displayed to the person who posted it and people who logged on as guest? That way they would have to check from another account that their spam wasn't being silently ignored.

Damnit! I missed them again!!!

This could be fun. We could all sign each request as "Calistria" or "The Savored Sting".

New spam -- and very unsubtle.

Duh. The mods remove them so fast I can't even see what is advertised... Maybe aside the times when I noticed spam first and flagged it myself.

Here he is again.

I'm still disappointed he's not spammed this thread.

Spammer offering sales of fake ids in off-topic. Flagged.

Scarab Sages

Yup, most interesting spam I have seen in a while ;-)

How terrible, I flagged the same post Drejk did. Hope they give up soon.

You shouldn't said that. Now those who'll learn about that after the spam is deleated will whine that they haven't chance to see it :P

Mmmm . . . . time to sign up their spam e-mail for some random newsletters!

*edit*
I copied-and-pasted the content into a .DOC, for posterity.

Out of curiosity: What flag do I use?

"Breaks other guidelines"

I think I flagged for "other content violations," or something to that effect.

*edit*
What Drejk said, hehe.

Thanks!

So I did do something right, for a change...

Note that this spammer showed certain degree of smarts... He posted on Sunday afternoon (EDIt: taking into account the board default timezone) so his post may remain for a while until someone with Moderator privileges will come and find him.

Woohoo! We got spammer advertising "THE BEST BLACK MAGIC EXPERT WITH POWERFUL LOVE SPELLS <phone number redacted> ANCIENT PSYCHICS SPELL CASTER"!

Ok, I might understand putting that ad in Advice section... But Pathfinder Society Scenario #4-21: Way of the Kirin? What the hell?

For future generations:
THE BEST BLACK MAGIC EXPERT WITH POWERFUL LOVE SPELLS <phone number redacted> ANCIENT PSYCHICS SPELL CASTER

Are you looking for a powerful, Witch? Here is ANCIENT PSYCHICS SPELL CASTER. the Witch, after years of successful casts. He has all the experience needed to understand how he can help you with your unique situation. He analysis your situations and help you. Are you really looking for a spell caster who can sort all your problems? Tell him about your situation.

Revenge spells are cast very carefully in order to avoid any backfire, unlike the revenge spells cast by many of other spell casters who can be dangerous. You can check below the list of spells that I'm often being asked, but don't worry if your situation isn't explicitly described, you can still contact me and tell me about your situation, and I will check out if I can do something for you.

REVERSE A CURSE AT SOMEONE
Did someone cast a malicious spell upon you? If so, you can remove the effects of this spell with a protection spell, but you can also reverse the effects of the spell back to this person. It will take only a few days before that spell work. If you want, you can also ask me to enhance the effects of the curse so that the payback really worth it.

PSYCHIC CURSE ON SOMEONE
In fact, it's not one spell that we will discuss here, but many spells. Each spell can have a specific effect on the physical health of someone. Therefore, you can cast a spell to have the following effects: make someone hairs fall, make someone teeth fall, make someone nails fall. If you ask me, I can also make the opposite and increase enormously the rise of hairs of any part of the body, or cause to someone intense stomach pain. For the most powerful spells of this category, know that you can also make someone blind or deaf..

BELOW ARE OTHER EASY SPELL HE DO CASTS
Evil Spells
Money Spells
Lost Love Spells
Divorce Spells
Magic Spells
Protection Spells
witchcraft spells
love spells

He's obviously at best an Adept. Like anyone on this board would hire the services of anyone with an NCP class.

He's certainly not a witch, while his spelling is decent he clearly has problems with grammar not possible in case of high level, high Intelligence witch.

However, he is refering to ancient psychics... Maybe he found some obscure arcane caster/psionic class hybrid prestige class?

Drejk wrote:

Or is he deliberately trying to pose as exotic wiseman?

Or, grumble: A scarred witch doctor? (most ridiculous archetype: Lets you use CON insead of INT for everything about the witch save skills.)

Scarab Sages

We've got some douche thread in the Off Topic Section offering real and fake passports, IDs, etc. I've flagged the OP as well.

When are they going to start selling fake Wayfinders?

More seriously, I just flagged this post too, but there wasn't an "advertising spam" option listed among the possible flags. Could this be added? It seems to crop up with some regularity.

Just use "Breaks other guidelines."

4 posts in a row now; they're smart enough to strike on a holiday evening. :P

A little bit dim* to make all of them in the same thread though. :/

Silly bot, fooled by an illusion.

Uh, I am not sure if this is spambot or spammer.

User who made three posts composed of nonsensical topic, single sentence and bunch of links to reviews of some episodes of various tv series. I haven't verified all the links, however.

Holidays!

So the spammer is back. Now with nonsensical user-name but otherwise linking to the episode guides/movie downloads pages as the one I mentioned in post before. Flagged all three posts.

yep, just spotted 3 new ones in the OTF ... all flagged

Here's some other spamming a-hole, Gary.

I flagged the nutsack with "breaks other guidelines" as well, just to be sure.

Do these passports work for interplanetary travel? I'm just saying, we might not be so quick to ban him if they do...

Not that I did anything wrong on Bretheda. It was just a misunderstanding you see....

If someone could code something like that and actually make it work, there would be money there.
