I also just found out that I now need to submit full costuming pictures before I can attend my larp on Friday, so trans group tonight probably won't happen.
Having volunteered for an anime convention for five years now, I will say that some people can be "snobbish" about costumes.

I shall stick to playing Gangrel; where a 10 gallon hat, jeans, and boots are appropriate cosplay.

I bought a snow blower for Christmas in 2015. We haven't had more than 1/2 inch of snow since then. Depressing. I'm going to have to drain the fuel tank on it as gas does go bad after a long time. GRRRrrrr...
My Dad first brought a snowblower the first time I moved out.
I think like most people I used to love the snow till you geto handled to a snow shovel the first time.

REALLY glad I'm not doing that so much anymore.
The costuming 'requirements' I'd put on myself were bad enough for the Werewolf: The Apocalypse LARPs (and for a while for VtM).
-Distinctive outfit: check
-Distinctive haircut/shaving: check
-Distinctive accessories: check
...and that was before 'getting in character'...

Sorry to hear about that Selene :(
Freehold! Control your weather Dominatrix!
*channels positive feelings and offers hugs to anyone and everyone that wants or needs some*
It is all right...in a way it is fortunate as I had to go with my Dad to help dig out her car after work so I had very little time to get ready anyway.
And it gives me more time to...prepare for a new situration...though I wish I got it done tonight.
But anyway...
*hugs*

I don't actually mind shoveling snow, and I've shoveled a whole lot of snow. But I hit 50 a few years ago, and my back really does mind shoveling snow.
Coincidently, we bought the snow blower the year my son headed out to Ohio University for school. After that one year, he moved back home and is going to school locally to save money. He's bummed that he hasn't gotten to use the snow blower either.

Be careful what you wish for, you may just get it. Several years ago, we had really severe snowstorms which completely shut down the Pittsburgh area. No Mass Transit, no cars moving, several feet of snow on the streets, etc. It took me three hours each time to walk home, only a couple miles. No way was I staying at work. Be glad for a mild winter. I am.

I'm cool with that. My company gives paid time off if the base shuts down. Most contractor's are forced to come to work or take leave.

Happy St. Patrick's Day, everyone!
Enjoy some green beer!
On second thought, just enjoy some beer... and don't dye it green.
I am partaking of some adult beverage.
It is not green, and due to a change of taste it is not the traditional Guinness Draft.
*resists urge to go on a rant*

Wow, I'm usually more on top of things than that. I blame post-Kickstarter exhaustion.
That's ok...to the core of my soul, I believed St. Patrick's Day was March 14, not March 17. Like, painted-my-nails-green-Monday-and-took-it-off-yesterday convinced. At least my coworker reminded me so I could wear a green scarf today. For the four hours I worked before going home to die in peace of an emerging flu. No revelry for me.

From anyone and everyone that would have potentially gotten ill from a stubborn insistence to continue to work, thank you for exercising wisdom in your health.
Far too often we have people at work that are hacking out a lung and 'claiming' it's only 'allergies'... and then within the space of two days everyone's ill with something nasty.

So it went well coming out to my oldest friend tonight.
All my friends have been good about it...except maybe one. He has not been with the group for that long. But after I sent the message out to the Yahoo group the next time I saw him he seemed to aviod even looking at me and timed his cig breaks to be right when I was coming back from having a cigarette. I might be reading into something that is not there so I asked my friend to talk to him about it. I hope I am just misreading it.

Yay, Selene! I'm glad everything (except for the possible exception of the one you mention) is going great for you, and I hope it continues to go that way!
*hugs*
It would not bother me that greatly if he leaves over this...I barely known him and if he has problems with it...well that is his issues. Though I don't how I would react to a similar thing from a older friend.

I guess it's ok to pile on more good news in this thread. Date #2 was a success. We watched Logan. We didn't get to spend a lot of time together, but we did get to do the gentle hand holding that couples do. That was good enough for me.
Congrats.
I got word back from my friend about the new guy. He says he does not have a problem..,I guess we will see the next time we get together.
