Saw the Hobbit yesterday - I loved it.

Male Wood Elf Kensei Monk 7; AC 16 (18-melee Kensei), HP 5/52, Str +3, Dex +7, Con +2, Int +1, Wis +2 Cha -1, Perc +5, Acro +7, Athl +3/+6, Stealth +6, Ki 1/7, (DC 13)

Can't wait...neither can my boys!

My boys and I are looking forward to it too!

A: AC 15/11/15; hp 35/35; F+7 R+1 W+7; Per+7 T: AC 22/14/18; hp 26/26; F+5 R+7 W+3; Per+6

We're seeing it Saturday.

Without any specifics, did anyone else enter RPG superstar?

Male Half Orc Bloodrager (Rageshaper, Draconic) 4 (HP 35/40, AC 20/T10/FF 20, CMD 16, F 6, R 1, W 2, Perception +7, Init +0)

I'm seeing the Hobbit tonight, in about an hour and a half. (that's when we start, I'm not seeing the whole thing in 90 minutes, that would be double speed.)

Also, my Wondrous Item is just about ready to be submitted, likely tomorrow which is my day off I will be doing the finishing touches.

The Exchange

Good luck chaps.

Hobbit wednesday evening and almost finished my entry for Valhalla Calling.

Cheers

I'm entering both RPGSS and Valhalla Calling.

F Human Fighter 2/Bard 2 (HP32/32 AC 27 Ft+4 Rf+4 Wl+3 Pcp +7)

I saw the hobbit with my nephew yesterday. I didn't really want to take the nephew because a) he sometimes gets a migraine at the movies which means that we have to leave half way through (Avengers) and b) he tends to witter on and effing on through movies. So I gave him a stern "do not ask me any more questions" and after that he behaved (and didn't get a migraine). I liked it, although the slapstick elements of it got on my nerves - I know they're in the book, but I'm a grown up now and I would have preferred a more grown up film. But Richard Armitage is great, Bilbo is perfectly cast and the cameos of various important people are very well done.

A: AC 15/11/15; hp 35/35; F+7 R+1 W+7; Per+7 T: AC 22/14/18; hp 26/26; F+5 R+7 W+3; Per+6

I feel like Tolkien wrote The Hobbit to be read to children by adults, but it's a mite wordy for that niche.

Elinor that's the worst run of dice luck I have ever seen on these forums. Usually the roller is pretty average, but that was truly horrendous.

Aidan - are you watching Bryndyn's to hit rolls??? I think he has connected twice since we started....

The Exchange

I am currently reading the Hobbit to my kids. It gets them both to sleep very quickly but we have managed to reach the ledge doorway outside Smaug's gaff. I managed about six pages at a go.

Reading it like that I am enjoying it more. Except for the violence which the kids love.

I once told off a couple for talking during Lord of the Rings after the intermission had finishes. It takes a lot to get me riled but they managed it.

Cheers

I am in the same boat with my young boys. I also am reading the Hobbit, and I get about 4-5 pages a night. They have been watching the Lord of the Rings on DVD, and they love it.

Female Human (HP 18/18, AC 13/T12/FF 11, CMD 13, F 1, R 5, W 5, Perception +3, Init +2)

My wife and I don't get to see the movie until the 27th when the in laws come. I hope our 3 screen theater is still playing it or else I'm driving the hour to DC.

Christmas Week

Starting The 24th and through the 1st, what is your feeling for the game? As it happens, I'm home, so running it is no problem for this week, but I know alot of us may be traveling and distracted with holiday stuff...

Let me know please

Thanks!

Put me in the neutral camp. I'll be traveling on two days in that stretch, but I'm happy to keep posting or take a break.

Other than getting Tuesday off, my schedule doesn't change.

I have had a hard time getting on the website in the last 12 hours though, anyone else have that too?

The Exchange

I am working a fair bit around Christmas to take advantage of my wife being off. But I can manage a few posts here and there. Maybe Christmas Day and Boxing Day would be taking the michael though.

Saw the Hobbit last night and loved it, especially the riddle game. Can't wait for the next one.

Cheers

F Human Fighter 2/Bard 2 (HP32/32 AC 27 Ft+4 Rf+4 Wl+3 Pcp +7)

I will be no more erratic through Xmas than I am normally. My dad read the hobbit to me when I was little, and then the year after the Lord of the Rings. I was very intense and obsessive so we got through more than a half dozen pages every night, even with him doing accents and voices. They're definitely books intended to be read aloud, but given Tolkien's background that's not surprising. At college our games society did a charity sponsored Tolkien read and we read the whole LOTR over about forty-eight hours with more or less 'acting' depending on who was reading at any given time. By coincidence, a friend of mine and I read both Gorbag/Shagrat and Ugluk/Grishnakh together. Bit of a theme...

F Human Fighter 2/Bard 2 (HP32/32 AC 27 Ft+4 Rf+4 Wl+3 Pcp +7)

I'm just wondering, isn't the shadow immaterial and therefore immune to non-magical damage?

A: AC 15/11/15; hp 35/35; F+7 R+1 W+7; Per+7 T: AC 22/14/18; hp 26/26; F+5 R+7 W+3; Per+6

It is, but as yet none of our characters actually knows that. That's why I kind-of-meta suggested fire.

Male Wood Elf Kensei Monk 7; AC 16 (18-melee Kensei), HP 5/52, Str +3, Dex +7, Con +2, Int +1, Wis +2 Cha -1, Perc +5, Acro +7, Athl +3/+6, Stealth +6, Ki 1/7, (DC 13)

How is it that I damaged it then? Was our stand in GM lying?

Stats:
AC 19/12/17 CMD 16 HP 24/30 F+7 R+3 W+10 Init +1 Per +5

Or the shadow is pretending...or it isn't a shadow...or you're under an unexplained enhancement of some sort...lots of possibilities.

Could be any one one of those...(with the exception of lying...assume WRONG or misinformation before just lying ;) )

Male Wood Elf Kensei Monk 7; AC 16 (18-melee Kensei), HP 5/52, Str +3, Dex +7, Con +2, Int +1, Wis +2 Cha -1, Perc +5, Acro +7, Athl +3/+6, Stealth +6, Ki 1/7, (DC 13)

Ahhhhhh...no disrespect intended.

Sorry all - lost the bubble a bit. With my son back from college, he's consuming the computer time...plus the holiday and the snow storm!

I hope you all had a Merry Christmas!

Happy New Years Eve everyone! Unless of course some of you have rolled over the New Years Day in which case I hope you're enjoying 2013.

I have a quick announcement that I have had the very good fortune to be selected as one of the five finalists in Kobold Press's Valhalla Calling adventure design contest. Definitely check out all of the finalists and vote for your favorites. There are some very good pitches.

Well done miichael. What a great way to start the year. Happy 2013 everyone

Ok, let's get back to the game! I hope everyone had a restful time, safe, fun and just the way you like it.

I think we all had good intentions of playing through, but really, focus was tough during the holidays. I'm ready and hope you all are too, to get back to our fight.

I'm still looking for many actions from folks before the Zombies go again...

Liberty's Edge

Hello All,

I have lots to catch up on, but I do have a regular connection now. And a chair. And a box village to live in. :) Thank you all again for keeping this going, with special thanks to Arkobla Conn!

Best,

Liberty's Edge

Please help me with a few things... We left the wagons between the towns? The valuables too? Secured the bodies in any way? Where is Alam?
I saw a note from Harlynn. Any other notes or communication with Haugin's Ear?

One more thing... Does anyone have an ability to make an editable copy of the map of Isger? Especially a focus of the areas where we have been thus far? I would like to start making note of some of these non-canon places so you have an idea where you are in relation to these other things.

I could do a map for you Sigil. A couple options
1. I could screenshot or export the ISWG map and send it to you in PowerPoint. In the game I GM, I use PPT for a lot of the maps. You can re-export to a JPEG or PNG pretty easy for sharing or posting.
2. I can get my Campaign Cartographer groove on again and do a map for you that way. But, unless you have CC also, you'll basically wind up doing the same thing you would do with #1.
