The Exchange

My PC has suffered a bad accident. Will keep you posted but NPC Abbas for the foreseeable. Ta

Liberty's Edge

Will do. I hope you are back soon.

The Exchange

My hard drive has failed so I cannot post for now. Abbas will make a handle animal check at +6 on his next go and coax Leftie away from the hole.

Liberty's Edge

Please forgive my absence... I will be getting on a plane in a couple hours and will not have access to a PC until Tuesday late so my next post might be all the way until Wednesday. You guys will have all the time in the world to put your final strategy together and finish initiative rolls etc and we will hit the ground running on Wednesday.

A: AC 15/11/15; hp 35/35; F+7 R+1 W+7; Per+7 T: AC 22/14/18; hp 26/26; F+5 R+7 W+3; Per+6

Aidan plans to use entangle once the force starts to split up, hopefully isolating some soft targets. Tkurzhan is a machine- his high speed and damage output make him an excellent candidate for taking out key targets, but his relative low saves make him dangerously vulnerable. He'll wait for a target to be available. I like the kill squad idea, even if it's lacking a good healer.

F Human Fighter 2/Bard 2 (HP32/32 AC 27 Ft+4 Rf+4 Wl+3 Pcp +7)

I'd be careful with entangle - the 40' radius may mean it causes us more trouble than it causes them. But a bear trap! You absolutely rock!

For a healer, there is Larayn who can fix us after the fight and Sigil won't mind her tagging along with the kill team to patch up as necessary.

A: AC 15/11/15; hp 35/35; F+7 R+1 W+7; Per+7 T: AC 22/14/18; hp 26/26; F+5 R+7 W+3; Per+6

I'll be casting it well back. I can generally nail down a useful area for it, and I'll be slowing down mostly Narnel's targets, but I'll be careful with the radius for sure.

The Exchange

Happy Birthday Bryndyn.

In answer to Seneca's question, do the clerics have any protecion vs evil or shield of faith spells for Bryndyn and Pluchak. Abbas has a very decent AC but I know Pluchak's is much lower especially when he is enlarged.

Cheers

I do have Shield of Faith, but no Protection from Evil.

F Human Fighter 2/Bard 2 (HP32/32 AC 27 Ft+4 Rf+4 Wl+3 Pcp +7)

Anyone got "protection from old age" or "shield of selective deafness"?

June - so you have seniority my master. Still, getting older is a whole lot better than the alternative.

French Wolf - you and I are it - 46 as of Yesterday...

The Exchange

Thank you Bryndyn. I suppose having a wife ten years my junior and two children does make me feel younger. Sometimes.

lol - my wife is only 2 years my junior, but we had kids early, so my son's are 19 and 16. I'm "hoping" that as they move on, I'll have more years with my wife...but with this damn economy and instabiliy in our jobs, who knows what will happen. RPing remains my 'get out of reality' card.

The Exchange

Let us know if it works. Sounds hopeful even if our godforsaken economy hates us.

I am lucky in that Helen lets me game one weekend day a month (Kingmaker), down the pub another evening (Smugglers Shiv which I get to DM) and every six months I organise a weekend convention here in Devon. Very small but perfectly formed in its fourth year.

Any of you guys (and gals) are more than welcome this November by the way.

Good game this, isn't it?

Cheers

Ahhhh yes...I have at two boys (2 & 4). My wife is only two years my junior as well, but we started late. Still host a tabletop game once a week though.

F Human Fighter 2/Bard 2 (HP32/32 AC 27 Ft+4 Rf+4 Wl+3 Pcp +7)

Happily without parasitic life forms requiring my attention (and no pets either) - which means I manage more gaming. ;-)

Happily Belated bday!

I am running at 30 here. Though whether I look my age depends on how much facial hair I am sporting at the time.

whew, I'm really bringing in the rear in years. Buncha old-timers!

Female Human (HP 18/18, AC 13/T12/FF 11, CMD 13, F 1, R 5, W 5, Perception +3, Init +2)

My wife is a year my senior, and we basically live in a zoo. An infant daughter, four cats, and a gecko. Time is a commodity especially with looking for a new job. I feel lucky to be able to game, so play by posts will have to do.

The Exchange

I remember the pressure of running a game every week. Now I wish I was so lucky but scheduling more than once a month for my friends and I would be impossible.

Old timer indeed young fella-me-lad, I'll have you know I can still run in a mile in under an hour!

Cheers

Liberty's Edge

Buncha old timers says the whipper snapper. In my day we had something we called respect, and you know what? We liked it that way. :D

37 nearly 38.

Happy Birthday Bryndyn. Here is to hoping you have more ahead of you than behind you! :D

Ya, happy birthday belatedly Bryndyn!

The Exchange

Just back from Orcombe Point, overlooking the bay with my little daughter, reading a book about dragons and playing hide and seek in the cliffside woods. It doesn't get much better than this, especially now that the sun has come out.

Ready to fight some bad guys and score some xp. Taedric see if you can crit again.

Practise roll to simulate sat at our table 1d20 ⇒ 1. Oh dear, I fear for Abbas now.

This is the best mapping I've seen yet in pbp. The link was kept in the campaign description, so it looks like this on every page.

I'll be at GenCon too. At Scotty's Wednesday. GMing First Steps (various parts) on Thursday, 2 slots Friday and Saturday morning. Friday Night Special. PFS games in the other slots. Going to be a busy weekend!

Ps: expect me to take those days off from PbP!

Liberty's Edge

Thanks Aidan, I will see about making that work for us.

Also, I may end up needing to be out on Thurday, Friday, Monday and Tuesday. :( Will do what I can to limit that probability, but for now count on it. It is the last time I see this happening in the immediate future. Thanks for being patient.

The Exchange

I am running two evenings this week so coupled with my son being on vacation now I may be a little less verbose with my posting for a while.

Cheers

Have fun at Gencon. I have been once in 1997 to Milwaukee. Never to be forgotten.

I just got Campaign Cartographer, and it's very much worth it.

Liberty's Edge

I own CC2 and cannot figure it out. I should start sending you pencil sketches and let you make maps for us! Apparently CC runs off of a CAD background, so if you know one, the other comes pretty easily.

A: AC 15/11/15; hp 35/35; F+7 R+1 W+7; Per+7 T: AC 22/14/18; hp 26/26; F+5 R+7 W+3; Per+6

It's true. They're pretty interchangeable skillsets. I'll get a map copy up when I can and email you the file, you should be able to open it in CC2.

Liberty's Edge

Eek... Apart from opening it I am not sure I could do much else...

A: AC 15/11/15; hp 35/35; F+7 R+1 W+7; Per+7 T: AC 22/14/18; hp 26/26; F+5 R+7 W+3; Per+6

Thinking of entangling just north of the "Kill zone" to keep those extra soldiers off us and give Narnel some slower targets =] That should slow down those soldiers enough for Tkurzhan & Taedric to rush the archers and Seneca to blast the soldiers... I'm going to ready it "if the northern soldiers approach south or east". The western soldiers should run forward to engage Narnel (and possibly any summons of Harlynn), catching in the bear trap and caltdrops, leaving the archers unprotected. Tkurzhan and Taedric run down archers, Seneca blasts away at soldiers... he'll probably mirror image now during surprise round so he has some extra protection when they get there, readying "if soldiers approach". By the time everyone figures out what the heck is going on, Abbas might not even have hit anything with his big stick.

Normally I don't discuss tactics OOC, but Aidan has a VERY high sense motive and military training coupled with an IQ and insight well above mine. The only way I can see to "simulate" this is collaboration.

The Exchange

That's fine Aidan. I'd do the same but Abbas' stats are single figures Int and Wis. I've bitten my tongue for all this talk of tactics. Not that I don't approve of what we are doing. I do.

Does entangle pull them prone? Against Narnel that may not help so much. I doubt it but just playing devil's advocate.

Cheers

A: AC 15/11/15; hp 35/35; F+7 R+1 W+7; Per+7 T: AC 22/14/18; hp 26/26; F+5 R+7 W+3; Per+6

It gives them the entangled condition with a reflex save and makes difficult terrain no save, reducing those who fail to about 1/4 speed and much, much less AC, but no, no prone. Though, they may just decide to fall over, all the good that walking does them!

The Exchange

Sweet. Good map skill there too.

Cheers

A: AC 15/11/15; hp 35/35; F+7 R+1 W+7; Per+7 T: AC 22/14/18; hp 26/26; F+5 R+7 W+3; Per+6

I've just started using Obsidian Portal, and it has an excellent map upload feature. Additionally, it has draggable tabs... I'll let you know if I find a way to make it a viable map alternative.

A: AC 15/11/15; hp 35/35; F+7 R+1 W+7; Per+7 T: AC 22/14/18; hp 26/26; F+5 R+7 W+3; Per+6

This is my first map using the Obsidian Portal system. The tabs are indeed draggable by the GM, and additionally, they display the name of the character when scrolled over. It also allows for a GM-only view you may find helpful. The primary drawback is display ablity on phones, which suffers a bit. Given the scope of our normal maps, I feel that this is a pretty good thing to try out, especially since it zooms so well.
