Crossbow Monk

Advice

So I was looking over Sohei to see what kinda quirky little academic practice I could put whip up in terms of character building, and I noticed that it's possible for a monk to use Flurry of blows with a double cross-bow.

I'm not entirely sure what it means in the long run, and while the number of attacks doesn't increase at all, but it could make for either an interesting NPC, or a fun party member.

To note - Crossbow-mastery in required for this to work, so getting that ASAP is a must.

It wouldn't work. There's no way to reload the double crossbow bolts as a free action. You say crossbow mastery is needed, but if you read the text of the double crossbow, it only takes it down to a move action to reload both bolts, not a free.

Whoops, haha, guess I messed up on that one then.

On the flip side, I'm still interested on drafting up a Cross-bow sohei, not necesserily for personal play, but definably as some high-level NPCs to harras the party.

Please remember that while the sohei may indeed use FoB with a ranged weapon, it doesn't mean that the fact they are technically able to use Rapid Shot or Manyshot (a limitation even the Zen Archer has) isn't an overview that you should take into account when using this NPC. With these feats, the sohei is incredibly broken.
