I say, no to this idea, and will continue to not like this idea, until I get an impersonal mass e-mail inviting me to try it
then, count me in
Congratulations you were chosen for a limited betatest key. Now you have to log in your account using your login name and password through provided link and set your credit card number as a future payment method. (hey, why just limit oneself to account phishing, let's go all the way to the core of the matter).

One great thing about playtesting a PvP game is that we will need folks to test out the high-level kingdom gameplay. I hope it will make for a much more fun beta time :-)
Oh noes, you can be quoted on calling PFO a PvP game. *Starts building an Anderson shelter to protect him from the tsunami of ass-hats*
This aside, I can't wait :)

I'm posting here mainly out of paranoia that this thread will be used heavily in determining playtesters. So uh..
Oh yeah, AND MY AXE! That's the code for getting in, right?

I think it's been heavily implied if not outright confirmed. Anything modeled after EVE without PvP is somewhat... odd.

I don't like PvP much, but for the good of betatests, with heavy heart I will lead our valorous troops into battle... Many of them shall die in pain on battlefields protecting our Motherland, but this is a a sacrifice that I am willing to perform for the good of the land and my crown! Now, get off of my throne!
Dammit, who let KaeYoss spread anarchistic leaflets amongst the peasants?! Oh, wait, it was our secret propaganda weapon against previous Overlord of this land...

Having volunteer testers can let you take a 'mass swarm' approach to finding bugs. Sure not all volunteer testers will recognize all bugs they encounter, but with enough of them (and professional testers behind them cleaning up the gleanings) you can accelerate your testing phases. No, you can't. A swarm of amateurs dicking around with your pre-alpha code will give you a swarm of useless tickets that it'll take professionals longer to sort out than if you had just hired a real QA unit to do the job in the first place.
Unless, of course we already are professional QA testers ;)

Seriously, how are you going to test a game with swords, bows, and axes? I suppose it'll be nice to test how much damage the CD can take, but still!
I'm thinking it's the rage quit axes to the computer... Caused by software bugs. Nasty things (Although I believe I heard it won't be a big issue for Early Enrollment.)

Yup... Still waiting for those of you hopping on the River Kingdom ship to make a "living" as bandits... That's when I get to earn my keep.
Such is life in the River Kingdom. *grinds sword* *alarm spell* Oh hey, time to do my other work *whistles*
Not that you are all bandits... But I bet some of you are. I'm pretty sure you know who you are.
