How can I get my strength score higher?

Advice

Started with an 18 Str.
Has Rage +4
Can Enlarge +2
Bought a belt of Gaint Strength +2

But then I read where Enhancement Bonuses don't stack, so that takes a lot of other magical gear off the table like ion stones.

Any suggestions.

Other info: PFS character, 6th level, Barbarian.

I will post again once I am home from work but five wishes can give you +5 to an ability score.

Bull's Strength gives a +4 but it will override your belt.

To be honest, there is not a great deal you can do to boost ability scores. I wouldn't expect you to be able to get much higher then 28-30.

You should be able to kill most bad guys with that. Don't forget about power attack though. :)

Dip into alchemist. The mutagen gives you an alchemical bonus which would stack with all those other bonuses. In fact, if you go for the ragechemist the STR bonus goes up to +6, but I don't think the bonuses really outweigh the downsides there.

Or into cleric (see the Strength domain.) Although I warn you from experience that as soon as somebody in the party has a STR of about 24 or more, the DM has to start designing foes that will live long enough to endanger that character while all the other party members become "Rick Jones" to your "The Hulk."

Bull's strength > belt of strength for additional +2

potion or spell

Righteous Might > Enlarge Person for additional +2

Range is personal but you could maybe have a magic item custom made, which allows you to righteous might a certain number of times a day.

If you have a Cleric with you with the Strength Domain with sufficiently high level, he can enhance you higher than +4 but only for 1 round.

Inherent Bonuses from wish spells or manuals of gainful exercise, after you maxed out belts of giant strength.

In level 12 you might reach

18 +2 (attribute bonus level 8 and 12) + 4 size (righteous might item) + 6 enhancement (belt +6) + 6 morale bonus (greater rage)

= 36 Strength

A level of alchemist or 2-4 levels of dragon disciple are the ones that spring to mind.

Just felt I should point out, after 24 hours, enhancement bonuses are treated as permanent. What this means is you could easily buy a strength ioun stone, or a keg of bull strength potions or any other enhancement bonus to strength items you can find and they all stack, provided you keep the item ones on for more than 24 hours. Just make sure you only have one item per item slot.

This is not entirely accurate if I read your post correctly. While the bonus becomes permanent rather than temporary it still remains an Enhancement bonus so will not stack with other Enhancement bonuses to the same stat (either temp or Perm).

The Exchange

True. If you have a "permanent" +2 enhancement bonus to Strength and you drink a potion that grants you a +6 enhancement bonus, you use the higher bonus (not both) until the potion wears off: the "permanent" indicator is primarily a way of telling spellcasters that they can memorize additonal spell slots based on their artifically augmented stat 24 hours after they don the item.

Synthesist Summoner.

Here's how to MAX Strenght at level 20...

16 Base (BIPED)
16 Size (HUGE Evolution)
8 Str bonus (Level 20)
6 Evolution Ability increase (Evolutions)
6 Belt of strenght (Magic item)
3 Ability score increase (Level progression)
2 Rage Spell (Morale bonus)
5 Wish (when maxing... go to max!)
---------------

62 strenght. Need I say more? And even a pretty low levels you can still have an amazing strenght way over most of other characters. And I'm pretty sure other min/maxer could find way to get this even higher.

But keeping in mind you want to stay a Barbarian... all the post over mine are good hints. You could use some points in UMD to use scrolls and wands to get spells like Righteous Might.

the 3.5 miniatures handbook had a prestige class with 0 bab progression and instead you get +2 Str every level. Raging hurler or something like that.

Other than that Amuny probably has to most strenght, an alchemist might be able to get close.

Curious about it, I don't know the alchemist very well. Just over-read it. Never saw one in-game.

I see that ability of self-buffing and those mutagens, but I'm curious how he could nearly challenge something that actually have +33 strength only from size and level progression (and in this case, evolutions).

Drug up! If you are addicted to Zerk (Gamemastery guide) you get 1d4 strength bonus.
Zerk

Spoiler:

Type injury; Addiction minor, Fortitude DC 18

Price 50 gp

Effects 1 hour; +1 alchemical bonus to initiative. If addicted, the user also gains a +1d4 alchemical bonus to Strength for as long as he is addicted

Damage 1d2 Con damage

Minor addiction
Spoiler:

Type disease, variable; Save variable

Onset 1 day; Frequency 1/day

Effect –2 penalty to Con; Cure 2 consecutive saves

So, you'll be trading 2 con for 1d4 strength. I'd imagine you'd also be rather aggressive while addicted, but that's up to player/GM.

Don't forget this: "While a character is benefiting from the effects of the drug he is addicted to, he does not suffer the penalties of his addiction disease."

I wonder if maybe there is an oversight with Zerk zomewhere, it seems OP. When do you roll the 1d4 anyway? I think the 1d4 strength lasts for 1 hour as long as you are addicted, so remove the word "for".

ok so most of you didn't pick up that its a PFS character.

Alchemist (Ragechemist)is the most bonus to strength you can get

but this build is from what i have found is the highest PFS legal Strength you can get.

Half Orc!
Barbarian 4 (Archetype: Mad Dog) Hunter 3 Alchemist 2 (Archetype: Ragechemist) Mammoth Rider 2

Rage power at 4th "Ravenous Beast" companion "rages" while you do

Starting Stats. Str 14, Dex 13, Con 15(+2) int 13 wis 13 cha 13

important feats: Power attack, Warleaders Rage (cha 13), Raging Vitality (Con 15), Amplified rage (Rage, Orc/Half Orc) Extra Rage.

so at 11th Start Str 14 +2 Level +4 Rage +4 Amplified rage +6 Alchemist Mutagen +4 Belt giant strength STR=34

so the concept is "amplified rage" gives you +4 str +4 con while adjacent another with the teamwork feat. Warleaders Rage makes that 30'
3rd level of Hunter your animal companion gets all of your teamwork feats
Choose a Tiger (big Cat) Enlarge person your cat +2 STR it gets rage and amplified rage at 11th level that is a STR 40 Raging pouncing Gigantic Animal companion of doom

Tengus Nose feat through racial heritage = +2 or 4 str (depends on reading.

Eldritch heritage (abyssal) +2 to 6 str.

18

+2 Level 8, 12

4 levels of druid + shaping focus. Medium size earth elemental replaces enlarge with a +4.

2 levels of alchemist. +4 alchemic bonus.

+2 Courageous Furious weapon 32k +2 Strength

+4 Rage

+4 Belt of Giant strength

38 Strength

Greater ELdritch Heritage(Orc) can help if you got the Charisma.

Silver Crusade

Kind of an old threat, but I was busy doing something similar.

Be a Half Orc
Get a mount, Mounted Barbarian is the easiest Archetype to get one. You can bring it up to par with Boon Animal and you can make it something cool with the Beast Rider feat or a level of Mammoth Lord. Take the Ferocious Beast Rage Power to make your beasty rage. A half orc should have no shortage of rage rounds.

Rage +4
Enlarge +2

Get the Amplified Rage Teamwork feat for yourself and your Mount. Str +4

Dip into something that gives you spontaneous arcane casting to get access to Dragon Disciple, 4 levels will give you +4 str

Total without items, outside help or levelled ability increase: +14 strength when raging

If the DM starts b#$!*ing about the animal not being able to learn Amplified Rage because of not having its rage power itself, Then:
1 Hit him/her with a rolled up newspaper on his head repeatedly for being a whiny ... person
2 Get around his/her problem (not yours) with the Cavalier's Tactician ability or the Inquisitor's Solo Tactics. With so many dips, however, you might want to get your mount through the Animal Ally feat, or simply not at all (with the Inquisitor)

Speaking of Dragon Disciple. An Abyssal Bloodrager going Dragon Disciple from level 6 will be a Large Dragon at level 12 and a Huge dragon at level 15, because of their non-humanoid enlargement. I kinda like that

That brings me to another way to (temporarily) increase strength:
Form of the Dragon I: +4 str
Form of the Dragon II: +6 str
