The problem is that if we move back, Mrs Gersen loses her cushy work-out-of-the-house gig and goeas back to an epic-length commute.
Dude, I'll get my limo friend to drive her to work every day if it means getting my freaking DM back!!!

Why, after that last post, do I suddenly picture you smuggling across the border a different cargo, in the opposite direction? ;)
Mrs Gersen: "Wait! What did HD do with our larva?!"
Me: "I haven't the least idea in the world, I assure you. But we're suddenly $200,000 richer. Let's call it a win and move on!"
Mrs Gersen: (kills me).

Let's see here... I get decent roads, restaurants, cheap and available liquor, warmer weather, and a top-notch set of players back. Mrs Gersen gets a chauffer.
I'm not really seeing a down side here, which makes me think I must be missing something.

Pfft. We're putting Arwen in karate classes. I'm all about the raising of bad asses ;-)

I am looking forward to my copy. Thanks kirth for all your work
As to gaming with kids. My wife encouraged me to take the baby out of the house even if that meant taking her to a game. Babies are a lot of work and you will be tired but you can still game. It gets easier as they get older and then you hit that magical age when they game with you.

Glad at least a couple of people liked the quotes; it was a pain in the neck looking for appropriate ones, and sometimes they're a stretch. I'm also miffed I didn't have time to find a better wood elf quote -- I originally wanted something about the Iroquois, just left out of context.
I think it was Robert Asprin who said (of the MYTH novels), "The hardest part of writing, for me, are the quotes at the start of each chapter. After that, the rest is easy."

Wait is there gaming without beer if all are of age?
Yes.
In fact, I generally prefer to game without alcohol present. Not because people can't drink responsibly, but because I have infinitely more experience with people drinking irresponsibly to the point I'm shifted slightly out of my comfort zone being in the same room as people drinking.

When I'm hosting and DMing, I like a beer or two while gaming (or, with the right group if all are doing the same, a beer or five or six!) But at someone else's house I follow their rules -- that's just basic etiquette.
I applaud TOZ and other teetotallers who are OK with some people having a beer and others not and don't get all freaked out one way or the other.

edit:also under domain disciple, when it says mysticism do you mean the mystic domain? if so can you clarify how the first level power works.
you might have missed this the first time since i slipped it in with an edit, am i right in assuming you mean mystic? If so, if i pick it and select option. A(which is weak arcane spellcasting synergy) and select the enlightened fist sutra, would they stack into strong synergy?

The new Intro has a long section, with examples, spelling out when synergy features (including theurgy) stack and when they don't.
In general, it has to say "this stacks with X from Y," or it doesn't.Kirth Gersen |
I see reference to a feat called Magical Talent but am unable to locate it. I believe it was meant to follow the racial spell-like ability chart?
Check under Arcane feats: "Talent, Magical." It gives you one SLA, so it does not follow the racial SLA progression: one feat does not give you a whole suite of abilities.

Is it just me, or does Iron Gods look like the adventure path I should be converting to Kirthfinder when it comes out....
If so, then you absolutely must read Roger Zelazny's Changeling as an accompaniment.
From Wikipedia: "Mark is ostracised by the people around him and wanders in the hills until he finds a graveyard of machines, left from the ancient war between magic and technology. Able to restart them, he returns in triumph on a flying machine to claim his childhood sweetheart in the village, only to be assaulted by the villagers, losing an eye. Fleeing back to the graveyard he creates an army of machines to take revenge..."
