Depends on the target. For instance, if used to finish a witch character or a hag, it'll be "DING DONG!"
The DM really makes you use a different sound everytime? Annoying as hell... If you have a smartphone just get one of those free apps with tons of different sounds. If not, buy one of those annoying toy guns that make all kinds of different sounds and light effetcs.
And when you're really bored, get a squirter gun instead and shoot your DM in the face when you cast. Then say his "WTF??!!?" is the new sound for your magic missile.

Cast by a Draconic bloodline Half Orc Sorcerer with the Favored Class Ability and Elemental Spell: "THOOM! THOOM! THOOM! THOOM!" "WTH? OWWW!"
Cast via a wand to interrupt another magic user's casting: "Frrzap-click" "F!#%!"
Cast into someone who has a Shield spell up: "Tink-tink-tink-tink" "Crap. Well, at least it was only a first level spell."

I like to imagine them as being utterly silent. The only noise they cause is when they hit something and then I imagine it sounds very similar to the sound of a fist hitting flesh.
I imagine elemental spells have some sort of sound to them depending on the element involved. Electric attacks have a slight buzz or crackle to them, fire sizzles, ice sounds like it is cracking apart. But force effects I imagine as being utterly silent.

That's hella awesome.
I always 'picture' them varying from caster to caster*. Demonic bloodline sorcerer they look like little demons, Magus they might look like miniature copies of his weapon. My infamous 'rabbit mage' concept would shoot little 'force bunnies' from his hand that bit the target, etc.

Tell me more about the bunny mage.

I agree with TCG, please point me to this archtype!
Also, what sounds to the 'force bunnies' make open firing?

I imagine the sound of impact as being a sort of smack or crack, reminiscent of the sound they make in Order of the Griffon on TurboGrafx (which was, incidentally, my first exposure to Magic Missile).

Ok... (I couldn't find the original post)
The idea was the mage would have rabbits as his 'theme'. So a rabbit familiar, his magic missiles would look like little force bunnies, his flaming sphere would be a rabbit that hopped instead of rolled, his fireball would be a little red rabbit that hops through the air to the target, looks cute, and explodes. Delayed blast fireball, rabbit hopps up, looks cute, explodes. He'd have his wall of force look (and feel!) like rabbit fur (and call it wall of fur) etc.
Edit: For happer, I never thought about it. I suppose they could go 'ANNNYAAAAAAA' while heading to the target, culminating in a 'KA' noise when they hit.
Divinations would be fun too, his nose twitching as he 'sniffed' magic with detect magic, etc.
And yes, his phantom steed would be a 'gamma world' style riding rabbit.

Cure spells go WAH WAH WAH WAH WAH! My players have to hold out their hand and say it.
Never had cure spells make a noise, but to me they always had a 'signature' from the deity in question. For Golarion Cayden's healing would give you a brief tipsy feeling, Sarnae would feel like a sunbeam on the spot, etc.
Oh and Zon Kuthon's would be as painful as the wound in the first place. You'd heal, but it would hurt like hell. :-)

Magic Missles go PEW PEW! My players have to say it too.

Ray spells go FREEM!
And I make bard players start singing a song when they inspire courage. Usually Eye of the Tiger or AC/DC.
when I play a bard I am usually "Neil the Diamond" and i do my best karokee of famous diamond songs!
my bard is usually this guy
