Hrunndalf:
Answer to first question -- yes, if you like.

Answer to second question -- This is actually the round before combat, not the surprise round, so you have a full round.

Rhost: Iron Chef Barbarian. That's a cuisine type, right?

First garlic. We break it. We flay it! We CRUSH it! WE DRAG ITS RUINED DRIPPING CARCASS ALL THROUGH THE BOWL! RRRAAAAH!

Then a light sprinkling of nutmeg.

Female Quarter-Orc Sorcerer

We mix garlic and nutmeg?

That may be good... or horrible.

It's supposed to be barbaric. ;)

"I see that Rhost-san is using his teeth to grind nutmeg directly from the nut. Have you ever seen a man's mouth froth that color, Guest Judge #2?"

"Yes, it reminds me of spring. Tee hee."

Male Human Cleric 10

That is disturbingly accurate.

I randomly saw Chairman Kaga in a movie the other day. It was disconcerting. He was playing a cop. And not a flamboyant 17th Century cop, either.

Wow, combat. I remember combat.

(What is best in life? To crush your garlic, see it driven before you, and to hear the lamentation of their peelings.)

Did he bite a yellow pepper?

In Hrithik's defense, he doesn't know how to be anything else. :-)

Fair warning: Post from him is kinda intense. He really is very sorry.

(Edit to add: anything further you'd like to add on the "But Wait There's More" thread back in Brinewall? Potential time if you had more thoughts there.)

Female Elven Urban Druid 9, Brightness Seeker 1

Hrithik:
Lio knows Hrithik is sorry, but she's pretty messed up right now. Lio will likely be putting some space between them in the following few days to a week, so they can both cool off, and because she is really hurt and fragile. That at least, explains the week of in character time where I've hardly posted... Lio will also not be making scrolls in his wagon during this time. There was the post from the Halfling story time... if you'd like to finish that... where Hrithik finds Lio reading? :) I think I'm ok with ending Brinewall, unless there are things you'd like to add. Have I missed any other interactions that I should be responding to?

I'm going to make a couple of in character posts about Lio's general behavior during the week after Kopparbergt (i cannot remember how to spell that) because she's going to be a bit erratic for a while. But other than that I think she's going to stay quietly in the background nursing her wounds.

Since multiple PCs have done this recently, I feel I should warn you ... One of these days, all of you people who are barging into Koya's Wagon without knocking are going to find her in flagrante and the image will be forever burned into your brain.

Ry:
Yep... and after doing that to her mothers once, mel always knocks... :P

So long as it isn't with Sandru, all good. Lady is allowed to enjoy herself.

Fair enough.

Raises hand. Barbarian here.

Liothonae:
Incidentally, it wouldn't be that hard for you to increase your Perception by +5 through magic -- Aspect of the Falcon + Owl's Wisdom, which would give you other nifty bonuses as well.

Stealth is a little bit harder for you to achieve with straight-up spells, because druids don't get the invisibility sequence, and the stealth spells you do have access to don't stack with the cloak. However, the shape-changing ability you get at 6th level effective gives you a +5 to Stealth whenever you take the form of a Small humanoid (+4 size bonus, and your Dex also goes up for another +1 bonus). And yes, you can indeed use that ability to become male.

There are also magic items you can upgrade to for stealth when you can afford them; I can give you a rundown of that if you like. It'll be a while before you can afford it, but if you focus on it a little you can use magic items to make your stealth INSANELY high when you reach higher levels.

Can I just say... that's going to be so much fun! At least, after the initial shock at what she can do wears off...

And there could be drawbacks, besides the obvious no one recognizes her and thinks she's an enemy.... Lio changing into a, say... Male Orc, for whatever reason she might have to change into such a form... might make her very ill when she changes back to an elf girl.

True, I know I have some spells, so if I prepare just right, I can be downright scary perceptive, but for Lio that means planning ahead ;)

Oh, Hrithik asked Lio to make him a couple of scrolls in the downtime post Brinewall pre Kopparberget. Lio would have done so. (in addition to making the healing scrolls she was going to make for the party to use). I can't find the darn post so I don't know what he asked for.

Female Elven Urban Druid 9, Brightness Seeker 1

Hrithik:
Lio would have made those scrolls that Hrithik asked for between Brinewall and Kopparberget. Can you remind me what the 2 scrolls where that he asked for? :)

Liothonae and Hrithik:
There was a list of potential spells in THIS POST, but I don't know if it was refined down to a couple of priority spells at a later time.

Hrithik:
Just to warn you ... with me gone for the weekend, and flex time due to reset shortly after that, you just started five new conversations, four of them with NPC's, when you're already involved in several. I *might* allow perhaps *one* of your scenes to persist past reset ... or I might not. If you don't wrap up a bunch of these quickly, they're simply going to get dropped.

(It's also, frankly, a little difficult for me as GM when a player starts a whole bunch of scenes all at once like that. I understand if an older scene is already ongoing when a new one starts, there's going to be some overlap, but someone suddenly starting five scenes absorbs a huge amount of my available time.)

Male Halfling Cavalier 10

Sometimes I'll have a slow stretch at work, and I'll find myself repeatedly refreshing the IC and OOC threads hoping for some new posts. But there's nothing to see.

Come on people! Entertain me!

Human Ranger

There Myri posted. Happy now? :p

Still two points better than Myri's perform chk. So either it's a pretty good mangling or Silmemir's trying to cover her ears.

True. He's basically shouting gibberish, but at least he's doing it on key.

Human Ranger

I'm just curious if Kalimac will give us a translation of what is actually being said, instead of what we're trying to say. ;)

You mean what Kalimac is singing (and Rhost and Hrithik if they join in) or what he's hearing you guys sing?

Human Ranger

absolutely what he's hearing...assuming it's anything except pure gibberish of course.

Human Ranger

...hmmm, combat round resolution. Do you think that was a message from Kyra to try to get us to shut up? What do you guys think? I think we need to go into the next stanza. :p

Just kidding, of course.

Male Human Cleric 10

...okay, can I get a status report on everyone? Or would you all rather shout for me in character?

Human Ranger

Myri shouts she's fine...unless the Ulfen surrounding her take her down this round. :)

Male Halfling Cavalier 10

Kalimac's fine. They have to roll pretty high to hit him; he's only taken 4 HP damage.

Female Quarter-Orc Sorcerer

Mel and her 5 hp are absolutely fine. Really.

Human Ranger

ah, c#@p, really? Sorry. Maybe Myri will actually notice next round.

Female Quarter-Orc Sorcerer

No, is OK. Her AC is higher than it was at the beginning of the last round, which may help a little. So all is good (hopefully).

CARAVAN COMBAT

No surprise.

On the first round, the wagons are drawn into a defensive position (+4 AC)

The raiders attack:

1d20+8

The Caravan takes no damage this round.

Question: Why didn't we get an attack in round one? (Esp since our first round attack has an extra +4 bonus?)

So, I'm pretty much on cell phone posts now. As a practical matter, that means I will be responding to some stuff periodically, but nothing too length intensive and combat update will most likely not happen until I get back.

Melinda:
they circled the wagons

Female Quarter-Orc Sorcerer

Kyrademon:
I thought we do that automatically when we stop for the day? Or did the attack happen before we stopped?

Female Elven Urban Druid 9, Brightness Seeker 1

Kyrademon:
So the scrolls Lio would like to have made are:
1 scroll of lesser restoration. 1 scroll of bear's endurance, and 3 scrolls of cure light wounds. Lio's picking since Hrihtik mentioned a few... so she will pick what she thinks is more useful to him, since he's not so tough, and could use the endurance

i think that leaves enough time for doing other things, but covers the days of travel pretty well... unless I can't count, which is also possible. i will have my equipment updated tomorrow (your late night today) so the gold and stuff should match up and i can figure out how much these scrolls are costing me ;) thanks!!!

Sorry about that. With Lio and Hrithik finally put to bed, trying to touch base quickly with others before reset kicks in. Work schedule tends to mean I get a few hours in one big lump and then a huge heap of nothing, so I do tend to cram lots of little things into that lump. Sorry for the burden.

On the upside, most of the bits were intended to be simple and outward-directed ... Hrithik sharing something or noting something to the NPC in question, and consequently they should wrap pretty quickly. I just didn't want two whole weeks to go by without him touching base with Spivey, or trying to engage Reta, and so on.

The only one I would ask be possibly able to continue (or explicitly raincheck to address first thing in Karlsgard) is the one with Ameiko, because it needs to be more interactive. Koya and Hrithik have expectations of weekly followup, and all the other bits were more about Hrithik sharing with others than getting into complex scenes.

Melinda:
I cannot check right now, but I believe the feat specified that it takes a combat action

Female Quarter-Orc Sorcerer

Kyrademon:
You are absolutely correct.

Female Elven Urban Druid 9, Brightness Seeker 1

Hrithik and Kyrademon:
So I do not forget to mention it, If approved by the Ry,

Lio would have made these two scrolls for Hrihtik between Brinewall and Kopparberget:

1 scroll of lesser restoration
1 scroll of bear's endurance

and of course given them to him prior to arriving in the city.
She would not have asked for gold to make the scrolls, however, she would also not refuse the gold that the spell requires if it were given to her.

Very nice! Thanks for the making of!

Also: Gah! Gave money away already! (seriously, gave Hrunndalf 100gp, most of Hrithik's remaining money, for his armor buying because the money wasn't claimed)

Retroactively, that makes Hrithik more of a skinflint and more ungrateful than I would like ... to make some sense of why it would shake out that way, I figure Hrithik hasn't transcribed the scrolls at this point, and that the scroll gifting came so close to the Dinner from Hell that Hrithik had planned to give the money in Kopparberget, then everything went bad, to not feel weird and awkward he gave the spare cash to Hrunndalf, and he plans to recompense Lio (and actually use the things) when they have had a chance to get to a better place (Karlsgard?)

Hopefully a 1/9 share of a million zillion Ulfen's eq is worth enough to pay her back :-)
