Remind me to do a maptools item exchange with Zyren. You've got a ton of stuff I don't and I'm sure I've got tons of crap as well you'd like. I in particular need more monster tokens that ahve pathfinder rather than 3.5 images on them.

Divine Gamemaster of the Abyss and below...

I mostly use the Devin Night token set, which is pretty generic (though it also has beholders and mind flayers), are you looking for a specific token?

Male Orc Expert 5

Don't recall ever buying any tokens. I've just collected vast amounts of crap donated by people.

Divine Gamemaster of the Abyss and below...

Devin Night is free and one of the semi-pre-installed packages.

Random question.

How many folks round the fire have been the recipient of a suprise party?

Raises Hand - my better half has gotten me a few times on big birthday parties.

Divine Gamemaster of the Abyss and below...

never!

Male Orc Expert 5

Never. Probably because it'd upset me immensely.

Female Human Rogue-Knife Master/10 (Init: +4)

That last time anyone tried to throw me a surprise party was on my 13th birthday. They have never tried since then because I refused to play dumb for their sake, even to the point of hiding in my room while they decorated for me. I told them I hate surprise parties, and that I knew what they were doing anyway so why bother? They thought I was just being a jerk for not playing along. Whatever.

Hahaha! So true. I could also mention that he's a self proclaimed hoarder.

I have never been the lucky recipient of a suprise party. Not sure if I'd like it or not either.

Dungeon Master

Actually, I was given a surprise Birthday Party for my 30th. I actually had a fun time. My wife had invited a number of great friends and we all had a fun time. I think it all depends on who you invite.

On another note, my wife and I are going on a Bird watching trip this weekend to the coast of Maine. We will be out in the woods and/or on the ocean with our binoculars looking for all sorts of flying creatures. I am sorry, but I will not be posting on Saturday or Sunday. I will try to post on Sunday night after I get home. In the meantime, please feel free to run Solaric, Celestra, and/or Kyren as needed. Thanks!

VC - Sydney, Australia

I've had one.

And a few parties that kicked off by surprise :p

I've had several suprise bday cakes from friends and family that were great, but no big production jump-out-from-behind-the-couch surprise parties.

Having grown up in New Hampshire, I am big on Mass warfare, should we start in we western part of the state and move east pushing Boston into the ocean, or just start in the east and obliterate Boston?

I think a feint in the west followed by assault landings in Boston harbor to take the city.

Na - we are not taking anything, the goal is to sink the cesspool beneath the waves so that NH and VT get about 150 miles of new shoreline.

If you could get on with the invasion before Sunday, when the Giants play the Patriots without their Number 1 receiver and running back, that would be appreciated.

Divine Gamemaster of the Abyss and below...

Giants vs. Patriots, sounds like a nice Bloodbowl match...though I would appreciate more info regarding the race of the Patriots - if drow or high elves, I guess they'll win with nearly no alive players left.

Na - it is just a costume party - actually both sides are a combination of Mwangi and other southern tribes together with a few Ulfen - but since most of them have been using alchemy which increases strength and constitution while dropping wisdom and intelligence, it is usually pretty up in the air.

Well, he's generally very reliable. I say just NPC or have someone take over his characters for the next couple of weeks. If he's not back by the end of the month, well then he might just be gone for good. :(

I like american football, just find the system pretty goofy. I actually go to 1-2 Bears games a year. Would love to make it to see a real European Football match sometime. ManCity-ManU, Barca-Real, Inter-AC, Celtic-Rangers - now those would be interesting, even more so if I had enough armor on to be brave enough to attend. (Sorry, the Bundesleague has great teams, just don't see the chaos and insanity of Italy, Spain, England and especially the nuts in Scotland.)

I like my American Football but I also like watching Rugby...But not enough to subscribe to a Rugby channel, so I only manage to catch a match on TV about once a year. But the time between viewings is enough to remove any prior knowledge of the rules. It just seems so random but fun. My wife who doesn't like sports, loves to watch rugby because there is no downtime.

Used to watch a ton of Australian Rules Football back in the infancy of ESPN when that was all they could afford to show. Still catch an occasional game on late night TV.

Male Pale Master

Im more a fan of Ice Hockey. Its fast, theres very little downtime and lots of brutality. Now thats a sport!

Aussie rules rocks - here are the rules, put like 40 guys in a 200M circle - try to beat the crap out of the guy with the ball. If he gets away he can punch or kick the ball to someone else. Repeat. Eventually someone with the ball tries to kick the ball through tall or short poles. If he make it little men in funky while suits with hats on come out and flash gang signs. Then it starts over after the dead bodies have been removed from the circle.

I am expecting lots of comments from the Australian peanut gallery.

VC - Sydney, Australia

Aussie rules is just what we consider 'Aerial Ping-Pong'. It is a game played by girly men with unspeakably tight shorts who wish to become underwear models later. Rugby League is where its at.

League, is good..

I used to play League, great game.

Played Rugby Union for a while as well, think League was far rougher.

Hmmm - Rugby - your invasions against the Black Shirts don't always succeed on the field, and thats is just a few of them, sure you want to send a whole pack of wallabies into a land of kiwis?

Annoyed.

The ultra-ultra-slow-as-all-heck LOF campaign I am in looks like it has petered out. Now I don't mind that part, but the ultra-uinique and completely interesting character I had finally got a group for is now dusty and out of use. My whacky Pseudodragon Oracle of Flame wannabe who delusionally thinks he's a brass dragon and harbours a deep Napoleon complex... mind you by having a lesser stat array than the party and having to start at L0 he's now pretty much subpar in the party... once he pops off his heals he stands there looking pretty - cant fight worth a dime.

Annoyed.

With extra annoy sauce.

Sorry tro hear that, Shifty. The character sounds...interesting.

I'd agree with Shifty as far as which of the three sports is generally the most physical in content. But I'll have to put up a slight defence of AFL.

Evidence for the court

AFL until recently allowed full body checks to be carried out regardless of whether the player has the ball or not.

That being said I'm a Union man through and through - though can understand the visceral appeal of League for those that enjoy it.

That is a cool character. well, we're short a designated healer in my LoF themed game (Katapesh Nights). I could run it by my players- (at least one is at the campfire). we are a bit behind where you were because i've been running some intro material, but I figure we should be caught up in maybe a month if you're interested.

Yeh - we have a funky group to say the least. A slightly naive bard, a wily rogue, an impatient crossbow woman, and a slightly self centered wizard. So no real fighters and no healers. You would fit right in.

Great, I looked at your video and after checking the Journey thread with Attalas, this song came to my mind, Dicke.

Note - I did not watch the whole video as my 7 year old is looking over my shoulder and I did not think that it was appropriate.

Divine Gamemaster of the Abyss and below...

I hope you don't think Attalas was:

a) fat
b) sweating
c) stupid

Westernhagen made himself to a persona non grata for like ten years in the German media even though that song was mega successful.

It was popular when I level there in 87-88. Don't know much other than that, but with german opposition to so many extreme views these days, I can imagine that the song would have offended a lot of people.
