Zyren, what are your thoughts on a cleric trying to cast a spell that she has not memorized, something like say, remove paralysis. I doubt this is in the rules, but what sort of penalty would you consider if she was to try and cast it?
Unfortunately by the rules if you haven't memorized it you simply don't have it to cast. If you, however, have left slots open you can spend about fifteen minutes to memorize it. Looks like this is just going to have to be a drag out slug match between me kanyk and the bat. I suggest not holding back on this guy.

Piece of cake - only you need to take about 4 levels of Oracle to spontaneously cast divine 2nd level spells.

Besides the rules, the only chance to be able to cast a spell you haven't memorized is by divine intervention. I don't think Cayden cares enough about Harry - I mean, he's not even drunk.
Well one day Karlan's going to convince him that he's a better guy then he'll admit and convince him to take paladin levels. <_<
Ragnvald Hrolfson
Looks really bad for Nymeria-I wonder what will happen afterwards...
Depending on how hurt Attalas is. Probably an unconscious ogre followed by a dead Patrissa. Ragnvald certainly doesn't like Rekkart but he's not about to watch a helpless old man get slaughtered. That's not Gorum's way.
Ragnvald Hrolfson
Probably needed a map. All these people moving about would have been provoking AOO's due to Attalas' reach too!
Wisdom damage in encounter 1, then a Charm on top... GM is nastier than the module :p
Thank you for reminding me Ragnvald has a...commanding personality.
I think I'll let the tension sit for a bit I seriously need to get going. :)

Of course it is quiet - you are sleeping in one campaign, I am getting thrown out of a play in a second and the good old ogre is in the process of killing another PC in a third game.
Shifty, have you talked to VooDoo about jumping into his Fire campaign? We could use a healer and I know you have a Pseudo-dragon oracle sitting idle. I do not know whether VooDoo wants a 5th player, but it would be interesting.

Aurichalcum would be welcome. we're just kinda hobbling along with a newby bard as the designated medic. if you're interested at all.
We have more than just a bard, also have a fighter with no strength, an old thief and a wizard. We are going to be called Team Combat Adverse.

A healer of any kind will not solve your issue.

A college drop-out wizard. way to sell the game, Tirion ;P
Of course when I ran LoF in real life, I had a greedy priest of Abadar, Idiot half-orc barbarian, and a Pesh junkie...

Maybe the Ogre would have felt less... patronised if someone gave him more huggy-bears and reassurances... or had someone bothered to sort out Patrissa before she finally set the crazy train in motion. :(
Ragnvald will sort her out. In boxes of various shapes and sizes.

And as for poor little Nymeria... we'll see! HaR! She's definitely a little...naive? Shall we say? Or maybe just so good-hearted she's an idiot. I mean, grabbing a pretty lady away from an Ogre and threatening to kill her if he doesn't back down? Not on my bucketlist....

OK well the character I was running is Aurichalcum from my profile.
The game he was in was a 20pt build game, but he was built on a 15 pt build as 'balance' and started as a L0 Pseudo-Dragon (ie an out of the book one with better 'stats', but nothing else).
Not sure how that would have to be approached for your current campaign, as I am not sure where you guys are up to yet.
GMVC would have to work out what 'build' would be allowable.
My main annoyance with Auri is once he drops his couple of spells he is limited to the role of eyes and ears and scouting, as he can't fight his way out of a paper bag... there were a lot of people on the boards crying about a PD being overpowered, but it was rather underwhelming in gameplay.
Similarly, the point of the character was not to be some optimised killbot Ubermonkey, but rather an interesting character prone to doing the oddball stuff youd expect from a delusional lizard with his Napoleon complex and firm belief he is the little Rajah.
Cool concept though. :p

Worse, the same Ogre she already used Intimidate on and threatened earlier :(

If only I had gotten that rock to not hit you in the dome... oh well. Did you see my query about the human shield factor?
Attalas
Yeah we covered it, at worst it was considered soft cover providing an AC bonus, by RAW its no cover as he's Size L and can disregard it (can reach over it). You'd also be in a grapple and easier to hit anyway... and you are dealing with an Ogre under stress who took wisdom damage from that clock.
Still waiting to see what mojo Ragnvald is going to pull out...!
Attalas
I'm waiting to see what others think of the options. Did my post not show up?
Sure, but I'm keen to see how this whole rockshow unfolds... its been 12+ hours already, a whole round is only six seconds! :p
TarkXT
Well, sadly the options are.
1. Murder you (possibly). Murder her. Lose module (maybe).
2. Try an ability that is unlikely to work (Zyren's call).
3. Blow more precious resources to stop a party member from murdering another party member or our only source of healing (Sir Rekkart).
In all three cases I kind of need the other three characters to not stand around and lollygag while Ragnvald attempts to tame/neuter the ogre. Particularly since Ragnvald is sticking his neck out pretty far.

Mobo just doesn't care about the non-singing folk to take action. If Rekkart or Nymeria or Patrissa get offed, it doesn't change his opinion of anybody, though I suppose a dead Patrissa right now would make an angrier Attalas...
TarkXT
Well the collective lollygagging was what got us into this mess :p
Well, to be fair no one really knows Attalas or his reactions to things. We met maybe an hour or two ago. Or Patrissa for that matter. Very difficult to pull a complete stranger aside and let them know the other complete stranger might be dangerous for them. As opposed to you, the third complete stranger.
This is particularly difficult when you are a tiefling, a goblin, and a massive Ulfen male who'd rather be in the middle of a corpse strewn battlefield right about now. Overall this was a really bad group for Nymeria to find herself in.
And judging by the reaction of the others this will quickly turn into a TPK. Attalas can straight up kill at least three of us in one shot. So, the only chance we've got now is to stop this before it gets too bad and Ragnvald can only do so much.
Attalas
Yah thats why I was continually putting Attalas' clearly troubling reactions in each post, that people might clue in that the whole thing was likely heading into pretty dark waters... every time Patrissa spooned him on or Rekkart snubbed him I made a particular point of clearly expressing the big lunks plain as day (and horribly foreboding) reaction.
To be honest I think the person with the biggest wisdom damage has to be Patrissa, why on earth would you charm up an Ogre like that!?
At L1 just about anyone can pretty much one shot anyone else though, so its an interesting game of rocket tag :(
Diplomacy was probably a better idea before things got nasty, or perception checks to spot the charm spell going off, spellcraft checks to notice it etc...
Similarly the Intimidate use earlier was probably not the best move on an Ogre you are stuck with, as it leads to bad blood. And Ogres are like Elephants.
