Heart of Riddles
Are you content with the story:
So far the story itself hasn't gone very far, but I am enjoy playing it out.
Are you content with the pace (story and Xp-wise):
I think that everything is moving along smoothly, it is definitely nice to log on and see that everyone is staying active and there are no days where no one posts.
Do you think the NPCs are colourful, unique and interesting to interact with?:
Yes, I find it hilarious that you would have Larur be so fascinated with her crappy posters. And it tickles me to no end that you played out people that I wrote into my characters past.
Are you content with the ratio of fights/roleplay:
I've always been much more interested in the roleplay, and get annoyed with fights that don't seem to play into the story itself. I think you've done an excellent job with this so far.
Are you content with the battle maps and the kind of fights? Are they difficult enough?:
There's only been a couple of fights so far, but so far I am pleased.
Are you content with the amount of rolls and skill checks you have to make?:
I'm sure I probably make more rolls than I need too, but I'm still getting the hang of it all and having to have switched DM's means switching styles as well.
Are you content with the descriptions and the general way of storytelling?:
I am.
Where do you see room for impovement?:
For me, and especially for my character's personality, I need to have more direct interactions with the others in my campaign in game in order to feel like my character is bonding with them on some level and has a reason to stay with them. It's a little difficult to do this while we are all working different locations in The Golden Goblin.
Any other comments?
Erm, I'm hungry and need to go eat. Oh, and thanks a million for picking up the campaign in Tom's absence.

Are you content with the story: Always. Even in HoD, which has become almost a perpetual dungeon crawl, is very interesting and entertaining. And I don't even like dungeon crawls :P 9/10
Are you content with the pace (story and Xp-wise): Yes. I think the biggest downside to PbP's is how slowly they move, for example: I started a Kingmaker campaign at the same time I started HoL. In HoL we are level 5 and in the Kingmaker campaign we just turned level 2 :P. Granted, the Kingmaker campaign is only almost to 1,000 posts, but we've had plenty of encounters and it's much, much slower. I appreciate the quick pace of your games :) 9/10
Do you think the NPCs are colourful, unique and interesting to interact with?: Yep, all good with me. I have trouble keeping them organized in my head from campaign to campaign, but it's always only a matter of doing a little research before I figure things out. 8/10
Are you content with the ratio of fights/roleplay: Everything good to me. 9/10
Are you content with the battle maps and the kind of fights? Are they difficult enough?: Yeah, the battle maps are awesome. Very useful and easy enough for me to understand even on my laptop. Difficulty of fights always seems pretty good to me, too. 10/10
Are you content with the amount of rolls and skill checks you have to make?: Yes. We use skills plenty enough for me. 9/10
Are you content with the descriptions and the general way of storytelling?: Yes, they are very vivid and I am extremely impressed because English is a 2nd language for you. Any time a piece of grammar is slightly off, it's never confusing and always easy to understand. And you have a magnificent imagination that you convey very well. 10/10
Where do you see room for impovement?: Mostly as a player, I think I could improve my own role in each of the campaigns more easily than you could improve on anything. For example, I'm worried Bonzo's character is a little dry... but I'm not sure where I should try to fit him into the party. Combat-wise, him and Donna are important as damage output and buffing, but outside of combat they are an odd pair. I'm still figuring them out :P
And in HoL, I'm having trouble playing Kirk as the cutthroat killer I imagine him to be without overstepping his bounds in a mostly-good party. Or at least partly-good party. Victoria and Pitr are less good than the rest :P. I've found that he's basically polite to the people he doesn't want to piss off, and silent to most of the rest. I'm hoping once his career as an Assassin takes off, he'll be a bit more interesting socially :P

Just had a thought, does rapid shot work with thrown weapons? Because with quick draw and a couple of spears Kanyk could become some kind of terrible spear throwing machine, would be a much cheaper way than a composite bow to add strength to ranged weapon damage. Only downside would be looking like a bit of a porcupine and the range increment for a spear.
I also enjoy the image of a big half orc toting round a giant golf bag (a la the loud man from Caddy shack) sized quiver filled with spears.
"This looks like a long drive, I think I'll take the javelin for this one Danny" Throws a spear through a charging goblin, pinning it to the floor "Oh how wonderful, a hole in one."
Shifty
I think it would, says 'Ranged' weapon, the only problem is needing the Quickdraw feat. Sadly, thrown weapons require a move action to draw another one, which is a major disadvantage (my Ranger in Tark's game was going to be a knife throwing specialist - but its so subpar it hurts) with the exception being Suriken because they are treated as 'ammunition' not weapons...
Cheezeburger players might point out they can have say a dagger already drawn in each hand, but then cheezy GM's would make them apply the offhanded weapon penalties.
Thrown weapons, along with Crossbows, need major love in Pathfinder.
Kanyk
Damn, never mind then. Guess I'll just stick with throwing the odd spear every now and then and stick with the classic springy bit of wood and string.
EDIT: Wait a moment, you mean without Quick draw I wouldn't be able to do it but with I would? Was thinking about taking quick draw anyway because of the whole ranger switch hittery thing and so being able to fire a few arrows, put the bow away at the start of my turn and then charge in with and make with the hammer smashery. This would just be a side benefit for it.
Also, hittery and smashery are now words and I am going to try to use them as often as possible.

In which of Zyren's campaignns do you play atm:
Are you content with the story:Heart of Riddles
Are you content with the pace (story and Xp-wise): Story has been moving great.
Do you think the NPCs are colourful, unique and interesting to interact with?:Quite. Have enjoyed the characters of the Goblin and the arious beggers
Are you content with the ratio of fights/roleplay:I enjoy a fight, but I love RP.
Are you content with the battle maps and the kind of fights? Are they difficult enough?: The one map so far seemed fine.
Are you content with the amount of rolls and skill checks you have to make?:Love making skill checks, so having fun here.
Are you content with the descriptions and the general way of storytelling?:Yep
Where do you see room for impovement?:Not yet. I have enjoyd your short stint so far.
Any other comments? Sebastian is still a very malleable character. He is currently different than I initially envisioned him. I have enjoyed seeing how this evolution has occurred. I guess, just expect a little more evolution to still occur. Sebastian is definitely eccentric but I guess in this group that isn't saying much. Definitely having fun.

Alright, I'm outta here: packing the car as we speak. Please DMPC my actions in combat from now on, or if anybody in any of the campaigns wants to run my characters please feel free. I'll fill in with posts whenever I have access, and will try to keep you updated as to when I'll be able to post next when I can.
I might actually be able to post tomorrow afternoon (in about 30-35 hours), depending on if we camp or stay with friends. Otherwise, it'll be a few more days. Have fun everybody, I'll miss the games!

Sorry, I really don't frequent the OOC thread all that much . . . didn't see this 'til just now
In which of Zyren's campaignns do you play atm:
* HOD
Are you content with the story:
* Yes. The whole "rotten city" thing is pretty cool and interesting, adn there are more than enough side-thrills to appeal to everyone (IMHO)
Are you content with the pace (story and Xp-wise):
* Sort of. but that's no one's fault--I think my biggest beef is the time zone problem.
Do you think the NPCs are colourful, unique and interesting to interact with?:
* This seems to be a real strength. You're able to get your points across, and effective descriptions of NPCs, without huge amounts of prose. I like succinct and effective!
Are you content with the ratio of fights/roleplay:
* heh. Yes, I believe I am--but I'm at a distinct disadvantage having chosen a fighter (which I knew I was getting into). I mean, hell, I'm a FIGHTER. I have few skills, few class skills, and Cha was my dump stat. So, if it were me and only me, I'd say "MORE FIGHTS! MORE FIGHTS!!" but everyone needs their time to shine.
Are you content with the battle maps and the kind of fights? Are they difficult enough?:
* So far, so good. I'll have a better idea after the fight we're currently in (vs. Derro) :-)
Are you content with the amount of rolls and skill checks you have to make?:
* Sure. I try to let others do the skill checks.
Are you content with the descriptions and the general way of storytelling?:
* See comment on NPC's above--it holds here too.
Where do you see room for impovement?:
* Move to USA Eastern time zone?
Any other comments?
* There is something that appears to have been "fixed" without my bringing it up, but since you wanted to know whether we're honest, here it goes. When Kyren started in the campaign, I felt you were favoring him quite a bit. (Example: he got a hefty XP bonus for a completely non-game related letter; later on I saved his life almost single-handedly and I felt like that wasn't acknowledged at all) It looked to my eyes that Kyren was getting all kinds of opportunities for RP and for nifty bonuses/extras, whereas the other New Kid (me) just didn't have the same opportnities, or resources (crappy skills). I'd like to point out two things:
1) I know that I can't see everything behind the DM screen, so I always tried to give the benefit of the doubt and keep my mouth shut.
2) I figured I needed to "figure you out" and I feel like I'm getting there.
Also, note that I no longer hold this opinion, that it appears to have either fixed itself, or you noticed it and actively changed something. I'll assume that it was a perception problem on my part and that nothing has really changed. :-)
Thx for participating!
NO, thank YOU for allowing me to participate. Both in the survey (because it's good to know the DM cares enough to ask these things) and in the campaign itself. Must be a lot of work to deal with the likes of us!!

Have a great trip dude! If you're OK with it, I'll contemplate running Bonzo (I'm undecided as of yet).

Volunteers for taking over these characters?
Kirk-HOL
Ah yes, I bet Kirk would be up for a little old school hit on a certain one-eyed Jack- (ass)!
Heck if you were interested in the Assassin Pclass, maybe I could hire you and make you a pro! :)
EDIT: actually, after reading Kirk's last post it does sound like he wants to go assassin. here's your chance, buddy.
Zyren Zemerys
Mornin' Bree
I know that Kyren had his moment to shine first, but I hoped to make up for that with the small sideplot about Tessa and Goldie, which isn't finished yet, I surely don't ant to favor anyone :)
@ Pitr:
I got the strange feeling that Kirk wouldn't mind some levels in the assassin class...*_+

Then apparently I must never sleep or leave the computer again to save all potential fantasy worlds from danger... that's a lot of responsibility. I think I'm going to need a snack *walks away from laptop to make some bacon*

...!
That's nasty.
Mind you, I don't shift my food habits one iota to preserve the delicate sensibilities of others. I am a carnivore through and through. The other day I went out and had Emu burgers with Crocodile salad for lunch, and at home had Kangaroo steaks for dinner. True story.
Shifty
Emu is unusual, its actually closer to a red meat. Crocodile is pretty good as well, slightly gamey but still a light 'fish' meat - same as snake. Kangaroo is my favourite meat, real food of the gods stuff, a lot of people have a hard time cooking it and it ends up dry because it has so little fat content (3%), but I got the strategy sorted, sear both sides then bake it! Perfect every time.
I spent a lot of time in my early years running wild with the Aboriginal kids out bush, so the habits kind of stuck; if it has feathers fur or fins and lives in Australia I have probably eaten one. I love bush tucker ;)
There's a great cafe specialising in native foods about 15 mins drive away, bargain prices and epic food: purple-goanna

Y'know what makes bacon so much better? Eating it in Israel, every time I visit my family I pack a big bacon sandwich and sit on the train after the flight chomping away. So much more delicious when it is frowned upon.
that is hilarous!
how could anyone frown at bacon. so ridiculous.
Sable Eboncrow

Emu is all right, gator is gamey, Kangaroo IS delicious, but yes, I could very well survive on bacon alone. I am a self-imposed bacon deity.
I probably would Not eat sugar glider as I have them as pets... then again I've had both cat and dog meat so... yeah.

Living here in Okinawa I have seen and tried a few unusual things, but there are couple that seemed like they should be so good that I could not really stand. Grilled eel of all things for one. It is sooooo fatty that it just got my gag reflex pumpin' pretty hard, but I choked it down while trying to look like I enjoyed it, haha. Made me mad that it smelled and looked so good, but came off so offensive to my palate. Oh well, I'll try again some day.
