If Kyra is going to be a stick-in-the-mud about things, why not leave her at port and take Feyia along? She's good at healing, and also quite interesting to follow around. Two words as well: Touch Spells.
Might I also suggest Sajan and *Link come along as well? Both would be quite handy to have around on a ship, as Lini can talk some of the more dangerous critters into leaving you alone and Sajan doesn't need heavy, sinkable armor to protect himself.
And no beards on any of them!

I made it up. Turns out, when you make up your own name, you can make it sound as elven as you like.
And I don't particularly think my name's at all hard to pronounce. Haven't really had a problem at all with other people mispronouncing my name at all.

Archons are kinda too rigid and boring and safe.
Angles aren't outsiders at all. They're corners, and I like them because I can hide behind them.

You'll note in that picture that while I'm grabbed... I'm not the one getting parts of my body lopped off.
Being grabbed is generally not as end-gamy as being lopped apart.
