NOTE: I tried to edit my last post. I thought I could. The actions of the goblins have changed what I would like to do slightly. I have learned my lesson to wait until one round is over before I post for the next. My apologies.
A laugh escapes Haken's throat as he watches the goblin nearly stumble. "You nasty, little weasel! Rumble will make short work of you. RUMBLE, COME!"
Haken takes a 5-foot step back and pulls out his slingstaff and loads it with a stone from his pouch. Rumble continues to fight the goblin he charged if it still stands (attack rolls shown in my last post) or rushes to the goblin that's attacking Haken if it falls.

A third goblins pops out from behind a merchant's stall, and the canvasing upon which it stands dips beneath its weight. A piece of flint in each hand, it reaches out towards P'Aye and begins striking them together frantically, attempting to light her hair on fire. Before it can make any progress towards that end, however, the canvas gives way, and it falls to pavement below.
"What?!? Why you little...," I shout as I swing the oddly weighted longsword at the goblin that tried to set me on fire. "The blade is so heavy," I think to myself.
I'll presume that we're using the same attack roll and action noted above (since conditions of the ready are met). On my turn I am also going to see what I can recall about goblins, even common knowledge (DC 10) information that may be more useful to me than this ill-weighted sword. :)

(Assuming he is still standing after the goblins take their initiative,)Vors will take a swing with his gauntlet at the goblin that cut him. If it drops, he'll take a five foot step back to get a clear line of fire on the one that dropped to the ground, and any others, with his bow.
Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5
A critical hit as the first hit on me, followed by a nat 1 on my first attack. That's an ill omen if ever I saw one.

I can use my performance to render you invisible to all within 30' Vors, perhaps it's time I do that so you can recover to a more favorable position?

Th goblin near Haken gives out a scream of terror as Rumble rears up and takes a mighty swipe at it. Her massive paw comes crashing down upon its head, carving deep gashes in its face as the goblin falls to the ground with a gurgle, and twitching for a moment before it goes still.
As I said in the ooc thread, I'm REALLY sorry for my abscence. That concludes the surprise round, and in light of my absence (and the fact that there are a couple unannounced actions and rolls to be made), we'll run through a quick recap of the scenario, followed by a final declaration of PC actions.
There are two goblins left in the square, one within melee reach of Vors, one atop the statue by P'Aye. The villagers really don't know what direction to flee, so they're basically running everywhere, and it's going to be almost impossible to cast any area spells without hitting the villagers (though they might forgive the use of nonlethal spells if it stops the goblins). I want to make sure I've got my actions right here... Haken is drawing and loading his staff, Rumble is charging one of the goblins (I assume the one by Vors), Calla is casting Daze on the goblin by Vors, P'Aye is taking a knowledge roll to see what she can recall about goblins (Nature or Dungeoneering would both work), and Lila is as yet undecided?
| Nirthuus |
The goblin attacking P'Aye should be close enough for Lila to close and attack with her staff. If the goblin is on a statue, she will attempt to knock it off with her attack.

A quick note, the Knowledge skill should not take my whole action if I recall correctly. If that is the case, I plan on attacking the goblin that tried to set my hair on fire. I had already included my rolls for an attack action previously but, if it would make it easier for you, I can refrain from doing that in subsequent posts. I did not see that it was a suprise round so I am good with your taking what I have already posted or rolling again when called for now that it's a proper round. I'll defer to your choice on that. If you want, since a die roll is a die roll, it may be easier for you to roll for our actions instead of trying to pick it out of our posts. That might make it easier for you to oranize the rounds (i.e. players state actions and you roll for us using our modifiers as needed). Just a few thoughts.

As noted, I do have an opening in the Kingmaker game I'm running, if any of you want to pitch a character (whether the one you were using for this campaign or a different one).
You can pitch in the discussion thread.
We're currently about 500-plus posts in, about halfway to level two, with people averaging 5-10 posts a week. Here's the game thread if you want to take a look.
The group currently has a human witch, human rogue, dwarven bard, half-orc cavalier and half-elf ranger.
