I would think Caotic, the way she swiftly transforms from good, to evil, and back as needed.
Now that I've seen "The secret of my excess" I'm wondering if dragons in that world could take barbarian, and substitute rage for greed. I have long been a proponent of enlarged rage.

We're going to have to nuke this thread from orbit.

It's the only way to be sure.

The Orbital Friendship Cannon already took out your nuclear space platform. That's why you lost contact with it. :)

Well, I'm not really making up Princess Luna from the show as a goddess. I'm making up a facsimile for use in a ponyfied Pathfinder game. There's some leeway there. :)

Also, when deciding on Domains for a homebrew deity, I prefer to look at the deity's role as opposed to personality traits. That's why I didn't follow Darrigaz' suggestion of the Trickery domains, despite the popular "Trollestia" meme. ^_^

I also realize now that I goofed and didn't give alignments for the goddesses I suggested.

Both, in my mind, would be Neutral Good.

This gives them wiggle room to be either lawful or chaotic in nature as the situation demands. In general, Solaria is NG with lawful tendencies. The sun is regular, measurable, and dependable. Selena is NG with chaotic tendencies. The moon is ever-changing and mysterious.

UPDATE 1-15-13 -
Solaria and Selena added and credited to Molly
Sliepnir lose access to Focused Study so as not to step on the hooves of pegasi.

and Lamontius, the ponies already nuked themselves and still they thrive

How about this guy?

PANDEMONIUS
God of chaos, disorder, and anarchy.
Alignment: Chaotic Neutral
Domains: Chaos, Luck, Madness, and Trickery

Thinking about it, Discord would probably be more like a servant/emissary of Lamashtu than a pony-specific god in his own right.

Well if you're going there then solaria and selena could easily be servants or aspecrs of sarenrae and desna or something.

There is a Moon domain these days.

What source? Trying to stick to PRD as much as possible

It's a subdomain of Darkness from the Dragon Empires Gazetteer, so one hundred percent original Pathfinder.

In light of new information (aka today's episode) I am reconsidering Pandemonius

I suppose I'll drop in my shot at making a pony race for Pathfinder

http://paizo.com/threads/rzs2p5hv?Pony-race

Anyway, it was this thread that inspired me to make that race. Keep up the good work everyone!

1-11-13 update: New Spell

** spoiler omitted **

The rumors say this spell was developed by a light green unicorn Maestro Sorceress with an unusual obsession.

Haha, I think Pinkie Pie might have you beat there in the canon. Or at least one of her clones did. Anypony remember this? ^_^

BTW: Love the ideas for Solaria, Selena and Pandemonius. I've actually been braintstorming humanized versions of the mane 6, Spike and the CMC for a regular Pathfinder game, complete with new names. Though Pinkie Pie as a character concept keeps jumping back and forth between a gypsy, a pirate and a tavern-owner. ^_^()

Sorry if that seemed a bit random, but I just read through this thread and was wow'd by all the awesomeness, so I had to dot it.

I found these a while ago. They're for 3.5e, but it would only take some minor tweaking to bring them up to code with Pathfinder.

Rainbow Dash, the Fighter

Pinkie Pie, the Bard

Fluttershy, the Druid

Rarity, the Rogue

Twilight Sparkle, the Wizard

Applejack, the Ranger

Then add Spike, the Dragon Sorcerer/Barbarian. (He needs to take a level in Barbarian so he can control his enlarged rage).
My Character/Monster system has them gain monster powers as they go up in character levels. That's what they get instead of the goodies humans, elves, or ponies get.

I'm considering redoing the pony rules so they all get Stability and filling in more stuff in the breed alternates. Probably remove Long Runner or something.

A bonus to trip attacks comes with being a quadruped, but technically you can't make a quadrupedal race with the ARG unless the race is monstrous. The stability bonus is a good way to replicate that without breaking the rules. The bonus is even the same. ^_^

Punycorns and Pegaponys are monsterous. So are talking ponys.

Darrigaaz made them fey, and I believe he is trying to balance them to be playable beside the core races. Thus, he's avoiding using the advanced and monstrous levels to keep things all within that Goldilocks zone of "9-12 RP."

Yup. Currently 11rp plus whatever adjustment you'd assign for the custom quadruped ability (-0 to -1 I assume).

Alrighty, here's that change I was working on (abridged). Note I have not updated the GoogleDoc with these changes yet, I wanted to get some feedback first.

.

All Pony Traits:

Fey
Medium Size
Normal Speed
+2 to 2 ability scores based on breed
Normal Languages: common and sylvan plus auran, draconic, dwarven, elven, giant, halfling, or undercommon
Stability
have to buy barding instead of armor

Sliepnir Traits:

+2 Str, +2 Wis
Bond to the Land
Desert Runner
Relentless

Pegasus Traits:

+2 Dex, +2 Cha
Gliding Wings
Jumper

Unicorn Traits:

+2 Con, +2 Int
Arcane Focus
Envoy
Lightbringer
Spell-like Ability: Unseen Servant 1/day (broken up into 10 minute increments)

I like em, but whadda I know? I'm just a Noob.

I have gotten a request from offsite to make up griffons as a playable race. Anyone want me to take a stab at it? Probably going to end up a 20 point race.

Yes, please?

Though if you make playable Griffons, consider making them just as bizarre as the ponies to "naturalists". That is, these are griffons from the same place as the Sleipnirs, et al.

Hm.

+2 STR +2 WIS -2 CHA? Mighty muscles and acute senses, but terrible tempers make them brusque.

If they have the same gliding-to-flight thing as Pegasi, they tend to be just as irritated if they can't actually fly.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

You know... being a mythology buff I don't know why I didn't think of this sooner!

This may not be a popular choice among die-hard Bronies, but there is a way to make these types of characters more playable without having to worry about them being non-humanoid quadrupeds with hooves.

The Sileni, of Greek Mythology.

They are like satyrs, in that they are half-human, half-animal, but the animal part is equine. The mythological Sileni still have human heads, but you don't have to stick to that description. Most mythological creatures in D&D/Pathfinder have been changed from their origins, so your Pathfinder Sileni could just be Small fey anthropomorphic equines.

(My Small Sileni, My Small Sileni... )

You could make up the Sileni as a playable race, in three varieties (one with wings, one with a horn, and one with neither).

This would solve the hoofed quadruped problem but still retain enough pony-like features to make them fun.

But then again...

... maybe not... O_O

I'll put that in as an option, just remove the quadruped clause and we're there. Though I like the ring of Sileni as the race's name whether anthro or not.

They can probably climb better. Ponies probably call crampons griffon claws.

Since you are talking about small griffons, it's probably not 20 point. My powers by level system will keep them from being a not a character yet problem. One dice and gliding at 1st level. They don't get pounce till they have 4 or 5 attacks in one round(all attacks in one round used on one target after a charge).

2013-3-22 changelog:
Sileni added to alternate racial abilities and credited to Molly Dingle
Night Guard updated to include bat winged appearance
Skyseeker replaces Slow Fall with 1/2 level bonus to acrobatics and fly checks.

rules for hippogriffs, hippocampi, and crystal ponies (I need a good name for these) are in the works.
