After reading the Ultimate Combat Playtest Round 2 document: gunslinger I am confused.
Why are there magical enhancements availible to firearms? I assume that all firearms in Golarion comes from Alkenstar the Magic-Dead Microstate, which not only restricts firearms from appearing outside (not sure how they accomplish this but nevermind that), and seems to distrust magic.
It seems to run contrary to the thematic concept of firearms/Alkenstar, at least IMO.

Someone will eventually take a firearm from alkenstar -- in fact some are even sold to people outside of Alkenstar -- some of those people could be spell casters of some sort and decide they want this weapon to be better than it currently is -- hence they enchant it to make it magical.
Heck a traveling gunslinger that doesn't even understand magic might take the master craftsman feat and craft arms and armor feat to enchant a firearm without 'knowing' it in character -- they just know that while they've traveled the world they've done better and better with their gun, getting more range out of it, and hitting/penetrating things better as time goes by.
Not like they have detect magic to know why the gun is working better.

Ha, thanks Abraham you gave me an idea for a gunslinger. Give her Master Craftsman and let her enchant her guns, but other than that she's from Alkenstar and HATES magic. She doesn't realize her guns are magic, she just thinks she's a Bad Ass

Plus just because people in Alkenstar distrust magic doesn't mean the firearms themselves are unenchantable.
They don't exactly distrust magic. Magic just doesn't work in Alkenstar (which is smack in the middle of the Mana Wastes.) In some places of the Mana Wastes magic does work, but unpredictably. They're probably a bit distrustful of *that* magic, but that's understandable. They're not distrustful of any other magic.

They restrict that by not selling any guns except the really basic stuff. I guess they'll make sure nobody is looting them, either. They probably won't give them to rangers that go too far outside the city, and if someone gets a gun, they'll hunt him down. Something like that.
I guess that the occasional gun is smuggled out, but those are isolated incidents. And I guess they'll just sell or use them, not try to reproduce them. You'll need someone who knows about this stuff, and you'll have to invest money. Those guns are quite expensive.
So you might find some adventurers or other really wealthy people running around with a firearm (maybe even a magical one), but nothing widespread (you won't see armies with snipers instead of archers), since nobody wants to pay thousands of gold pieces for each soldier's weapon.
