This is correct. The Tomes and Manuals emulate the effect of wish spell, which has an expensive material component.

Okay, thanks=)

Hi, I noticed that the tomes that grants bonuses to stats (understanding, leadership & influence, etc) have less than double the cost of buying a tome than the actually creation cost. Isnt the standard rule that double the cost of creating is the cost of purchase?

EG: Tome of Understanding Cost 26,250 gp (+1), 52,500 gp (+2), 78,750 gp (+3), 105,000 gp (+4), 131,250 gp (+5) to create but its Price is 27,500 gp (+1), 55,000 gp (+2), 82,500 gp (+3), 110,000 gp (+4), 137,500 gp (+5).

As PRD.

Is this correct or an error?

Plus just because people in Alkenstar distrust magic doesn't mean the firearms themselves are unenchantable.

Also true I suppose. It just makes no sense to me, but then Alkenstar never did.

Pathfinder RPG isn't Golarion, even if Golarion uses Pathfinder RPG rules. :)

True enough.

After reading the Ultimate Combat Playtest Round 2 document: gunslinger I am confused.

Why are there magical enhancements availible to firearms? I assume that all firearms in Golarion comes from Alkenstar the Magic-Dead Microstate, which not only restricts firearms from appearing outside (not sure how they accomplish this but nevermind that), and seems to distrust magic.

It seems to run contrary to the thematic concept of firearms/Alkenstar, at least IMO.

Whew, finally found my item. Thank you for taking time to post the reason for rejecting.

I noticed several rejections being based on "it makes adventuring easy"*, why is that a bad thing? Isn´t that what magical items, especially Wonderous items are supposed to do?

*not the reason for my item, just an observation.

Here is my item open for critique =)

Pommelstone of Power
Aura Moderate transmutation, Aura of special ability; CL +2 of special ability
Slot -; Price 8,000 gp; Weight 0 lbs.
Description
Pommelstone of power are attachable pommelstones that contains a magical power which are transferered to any weapon which the pommelstone has been attached to. Attaching a pommelstone of power requires a successfully Craft: Weapons check of DC 10. The weapon only gains the pommelstone´s power as long as the stone is attached to the weapon. The pommelstone can be removed and attached to another weapon using the same Craft DC as before.

The power of a Pommelstone of power can be any of the +1 special ability for a weapon, such as Bane, Defending, Flaming, Frost, etc. One such pommelstone of power might be of Frost, which may be attached to a melee weapon thereby granting the weapon the Frost ability without futher increasing the weapon bonus. Only the +1 special abilities may be stored in a pommelstone of power, and only one such ability.

These pommelstones looks like fine gems cut to perfection and clearly brimming with magical power. Designed to be attached to any melee weapon, replacing the previous pommelstone.

Construction
Requirements Craft Wondrous Item, in addition any feat and spell requirement of the special ability; Cost 4,000 gp

Thanks Fletch, I couldn´t find the dungeon maps but boy does that site have a lot of other goodies;=)

I purchased the Shackled City book a while back from the local store but seems to have lost the mapbooklet with all the dungeons. Is it posible to download that or maybe purchase the mapbooklet?

Any European subscribers received their copy of #357? Been looking after the mailman for a while now:D

When I ran it for my group I added monsters to some of the empty rooms as I felt it was too empty. Of course that meant it got harder but hey noone said an adventurer´s life was easy :D

All in all I agree with Mary, cut it down. It can get frustrating with all those locks, traps just to find another empty room.

I have the SCAP hardcover and I think its worth it. There is a lot of hours of gametime to be found between its covers, and I like to have all the infomation under one cover. But then again I dont got the Dungeon issues of SCAP. I do got the Age of Worms issues and I would buy a hardcover version of that adventure path should it be published (hint hint Paizo). From what I understand (and I could be wrong here) its also a 3.0 (dungeon mags) and 3.5 (hardcover) issue.
