"So, your magic is good for more than just impressing folks with parlor tricks, well done putting out the blaze..." Harsk is speaking to Ezren when the screams ring out and everyone dashes away to investigate.

Here we go again. Bring it on, gobbos, I can do this all day.

Harsk again reloads and stumps off after the others as fast as he can manage.

Seeing Ensu run off with spoils, Mattie also sees the shortbow he left behind. She rides up, dismounts quickly, and snatches up the bow and quiver. Then she hops on her pony and prepares to gallop off when she sees the stablemaster.

"Mr. Hosk. Are the stables secure?"

"Oh yes ma'am. They're secure. The horses are loose. No gobbo's gonna come within a hundred yards of the place, once they know that. You look after yerself!" With that he spurs his mount anh gallops off toward the West, heading toward the centre of town.

You rush Northward, finaly coming out of a side street facing the front of the White Deer tavern. A pair of wooden life-sized deer, carved with painstaking care from white birch, stand astride the entrance to this sizable building. You see that the White Deer commands an impressive view of the Varisian Gulf to the north. The building is new, recently rebuilt after the previous inn at this location burnt to the ground five years ago in the same fire that destroyed the Sandpoint Chapel. The new building is a grand affair, three stories tall with a stone first floor and wooden upper floors.

Amid the smoke drifting South down the street, you spot a large goblin mounted on a big dog, squatting in front of a broken gap in a fence beside the tavern. This mangy dog’s face has the flat nose, beady eyes, and protruding teeth of a rat grown grotesquely large. Tiny clawed forelimbs and a long, hairless pink tail add to its verminous appearance, and the smell of sun-baked sewage practically steams off its patchy fur.

An aristocratic human is down on the ground in front of the goblin dog, cowering behind a rain barrel. "Help! Help! Please, for the love of Abadar, Help Me!" The mans dog is bravely protecting his master, barring its teeth and barking at the mounted goblin.

As you arrive on the scene, you are just in time to see the mounted goblin kill the dog with his horsechopper. The dog crashes dying to the ground as the mounted goblin's four goblin kin (who were themselves cowering nearby behind the fence as the dog was handled) throw up a cheer and emerge from hiding.

The goblins are still distracted by their kill, and as they turn their attention to the cowering man, you have the opportunity to attack with surprise. Roll initiative for action order.

OK, initiative in the suprise round is as follows - Galstock, Harsk, Ensu, Kendrick, Gallus, Ezren and then Mattie.

Galstock charges forward, swinging his earthbreaker. With a bloodcurdling scream he swings the weapon at the mounted goblin, and hits it in the head before it even realises it is being attacked. Blood spurts into the air and the goblins head lands with a sickening thud next to the young man being attacked. He quickly backpeddles away from the grisly trophy, breathing rapidly.

Harsk rapidly lets fly with a crossbow bolt, yelling in frustration as it flies wide and obliterates the head of one of the life sized deer carvings that are a feature of the tavern.

Ensu also launches an attack at the mounted goblin but misses as it slumps from it's saddle onto the street.

The harty song of the bard strikes up as Kendrick begins another powerful song to ward against the goblins.

Gallus leaps into the frey, bringing his mighty glaive down onto the goblin mount, cutting it neatly in two. It lets out a pitiful whimper and slumps heavily to the ground. At this the four watching goblins, seeing their leader brought low in such an easy and grisly manner decide that enough is enough and that fleeing is the best option. However, straight into the whirling windmil of death that is Gallus's glaive may not have been their best decision as three of them are promptly ripped apart by the blade.

Amid the falling body parts, Ezren lets fly with his cane which flies straight at the remaining goblin, knocking it straight off it's feet and sending it sprawling into the dirt, where it land with a bone snapping crunch.

Mattie rains in her mount, realising that all the goblins are now lying dead, most of them in several pieces.

Grog runs into the street, just as Mattie reigns her mount in.

Appologies to Grog. I sort of went ahead with the combat there, without waiting for your call. OOPS!

With an almost feral visage Galstok looks around for any additional threats appearing ready to strike out at the nearest foe(one hopes).

If none seen:

As he catches sight of Gallus, Galstok shifts his weight and grip on his hammer as if he were about to continue with the Chelaxian. Almost immediately however you see him go rigid and taking deep breaths. The feral look on his face fades and the cheerful face you had seen before returns albeit still splattered with blood and gore.

Raising his hammer in a salute to Gallus, "Not bad Gallus Domitus" he says with a grin looking around at the bodies littered on the ground.

"What say you? Think the hunt be over for now?"

Looking around at the others to see their reactions, the grin stays on his face but a little forced as if waiting for them to recoil or worse.

Ensu will come up and examine the carnage. "Most impressive, I must say, perhaps now that we have found the hole, we have finally taken care of this end at least." Looking at the trembling noble, who probably is just as stunned by the sudden dispatch of his foes as he was by the goblins, "Are you harmed, good sir? If you are, I am a cleric and can patch you up. If you are not, I believe I saw a few vendors in the square who hadn't completely panicked whose food and drink could do your nerves a world of good right now." If there are any remains left to be searched, he will start searching them for anything of interest or value.

Male Human (Chelaxian) Fighter Lvl 2

Gallus wipes the blood from his face. "I do believe the hunt is over for now Galstok" he says to Galstok either not noticing or not being concerned by the Shoanti's momentary slip. "However, a greater hunt is just about to begin." Looking around the square for any more threats or anyone injured he then approaches Galstok.

Perception1d20 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3

" I have never seen a Shoanti in his blood rage before though I have read about many times. I must confess it is very impressive"

To no one in particular "How did these creatures get into the town? Surely the walls are guarded even during the festival."

Gallus looks towards any citizens in the area"Where do I find the local guards post?"

Male Shoanti Human Barbarian 2

Breathing a bit heavily Galstok nods in agreement, "As you say, all of this could just be the diversion for the strike to throat. Now the question would to which throat."

Looking over at the dog killed, he goes over and kneels besides it. He murmurs short prayer in Shoanti.

in Shoanti:
"May you run wild and free and your fangs always find their mark, Brother."

Gallus Domitus wrote:
" I have never seen a Shoanti in his blood rage before though I have read about many times. I must confess it is very impressive"

"Aye, accepting the Beast has its uses. However, you must fight it lest it controls you."

See the man still cowering on the ground he approaches picking him up by the arm and setting him on his feet, "Enough of your whimpering!" Pointing back at the dog, "He stood his ground to defend you cause you sat and cried! The least you could do is honor him as he deserves for the loyalty he has shown!" Realizing he is shouting in the man's face covered in blood, he stops and turns away disgust on his face.

in Shoanti:
"More loyalty then he deserved the coward."

Male Human Bard 1

Kendrick walks over towards the noble and slightly bows, "Kendrick Loreseeker at your service. My apologies sir, for the manner in which my large friend just spoke his words, he can be as blunt as the hammer he carries." Looking down at the dog he continues, "still he does have a point. You are fortunate to have had such a loyal friend. But I am sure that you know that and will see that he receives a proper burial."

Male Human (Taldan) Wizard 1

As Ensu searches through the aftermath and the man on the ground gets his tounge lashing from Galstok, Ezren leans against the fence to catch his breath. "I do hope that was the last of them, for now at least."

You are fortunate to have had such a loyal friend. But I am sure that you know that and will see that he receives a proper burial."

The man starts to dust himself down, wiping his eyes to hide the tears welling in them. "Yes, Brutus wasa loyal friend. A man could not have wished for a more trusting and loving companion...'sniff'"

He extends his hand in an offer of friendship.

"Aldern Foxglove. You have my thanks Kendrick, as do all your friends. I am most impressed by the way you handled yourselves. Impressive...most impressive."

Aldern glances about nervously, obviously on the lookout for more goblins. " Look, I'm going to be in town for a few more days. I'm staying at the Rusty Dragon, so if you get the chance I'd love to talk to you all some more and maybe reward you properly for what you have all done here."

To Gallus, he says "I'm not to sure where the guards are posted. Possibly on the walls to the North?"

As the day turns to night, the few surviving goblins flee north in droves, in some cases preferring to leap to their certain death off the cliff's rather than be captured alive. However, several of the little menaces have been caught alive, including the creature that Ezren stunned, but they all prove utterly useless when interrogated;
none of these goblins know much more than that they were given orders to "kill's everyone's in town" and "burny down the place". None of the captured goblins can even remember their leader’s name, apart from the fact that he was "one of 'you longshanks'.”

The people of Sandpoint start to return to their homes, confident that the threat is over, now that the fires are under control and the pesky little goblins are dead or run away.

male gnome cloistered cleric 3 [ HP: 19/23 | AC: 14 T: 11 FF: 14 | F: +5 R: +1 W: +6 | Init: +1 Perc: +2 | Effects: ]

As soon as the dust settles, all the remaining goblins are thoroughly searched, and everyone in the party has a chance to introduce themselves and talk with each other, Ensu will share the information of the coin pouch. "We are at the very least a touch richer to end the day. I found a pouch on one of the suicidal maniacs that will give us each 3 gold."

Male Human Bard 1

"Well now, that certainly was exciting. I had not thought Sandpoint to be so lively. But now that things have calmed down, please forgive my earlier lack of manners and allow me to introduce myself properly."
With a bow, "Kendrick Loreseeker, traveling performer, student of history, and warrior at need, at your service".

male gnome cloistered cleric 3 [ HP: 19/23 | AC: 14 T: 11 FF: 14 | F: +5 R: +1 W: +6 | Init: +1 Perc: +2 | Effects: ]

Ensu seems deep in thought after he passes out the coins. Another wild goose chase. Those foolish paper pushers will see the use of magic in anything. They wouldn't know what magic looked like if it bit them in the rear. He snaps out of it when Kendrick introduces himself, "Ah yes, introductions; I am Ensu. I trust everyone had a productive afternoon."

Male Human (Taldan) Wizard 1

Ezren gladly takes the offered coins. It is not much, but it is a start... and a sight better than what I had in my pouch! "Ah, thank you Ensu." He turns to Kendrick, "Yes, proper introductions..." As everyone gets to know each other who did not already know each other Ezren takes stock of what he has seen this day. I cannot shake the feeling that there is something... more going on here.

He notes Ensu's comment about a productive afternoon and responds, "I would say that everyone did not have a productive afternoon good Ensu. Some of these folk have, no doubt, lost love ones this day." Realizing that his words probably came a bit more harshly than he intended he waves his hand dismisively, "Forgive me... I am weary from exertion, both physical and mystical. I shall retire to the Rusty Dragon for some much needed rest."

male gnome cloistered cleric 3 [ HP: 19/23 | AC: 14 T: 11 FF: 14 | F: +5 R: +1 W: +6 | Init: +1 Perc: +2 | Effects: ]

"I was referring more to events before the goblins decided to interfere, but you do have a valid point I suppose." Ensu shrugs as he also heads back the Rusty Dragon, torn between exploring the Old Light tomorrow and finding out what the cause behind the attack was. He seems to be in a very quiet mood at this point, suggesting that no matter what he tried to say, he did not enjoy the festival all that much for some reason.

"This town ain't no metropolis. But whoever sent these varmints ought to have known that it'd take more to bring this place to its knees. Don't ye think?"

Ensu doles out her portion of the spoils...

"Why thank ye Ensu, darlin'. That's right fair 'of ye to share the booty. Right fair, I say" She shakes the coins in her hand and chuckles..."I could get used to this adventurin'"...she says. And she stashes the money in her purse.

Male Human (Chelaxian) Fighter Lvl 2

Gallus nods to the others " My name is Gallus Domitus formerly of Cheliax. I too feel that the events of today are unusual. How did so many Goblins get into town? They are sneaky vermin but not that bright for sure. As well, the attacks coordinated in different parts of the town? I suspect this is only the beginning"

He nods as Ensu hands him his share of the coin.

To Aldern "I too am staying at the Dragon I will look for you there though first I think I would like to wash this filth off. He states as he runs his fingers over his blood spattered head.

With that he turns and follows the others back to the inn watching closely for any signs of trouble.

"I see you, Kendrick Loreseeker." Galstok says extending his arm in greeting. "I see you, Ensu." extending his arm to the gnome as well. "I am Galstok of the Shriikirri-Quah Shoanti."

As Ensu hands him the coin he looks confused for a moment till he sees the others pocket it and hears Miss Mattie speak of sharing the booty.

Looking at Gallus, he nods and says, "The beginning yes, but to what? The diversion has likely succeeded, but what has it masked?"

"Reward? For what? Doing what needs be done? I guess I will be returning there anyways, atleast for now. Do you suppose they still have room available?"

You slowly make your ways back through town towards the welcoming lights of the Rusty Dragon. The air still has the smell of smoke lingering on it, and you pass various groups of town guard, many of them sporting injuries ranging from bite marks to broken arms and even a couple of missing limbs. You also see several shrouded bodies being tended to by the young priets and priestesses from the cathedral.

On the way, Kendrick stops in at the Goblin Squash stables to cash in a small collection of goblin ears that he has claimed. Daviren Hosk gladly receives them and promises to dry them out and display them proudly. Hosk agrees to pay the going bounty of a copper piece per ear.

As you approach the Dragon, you can see from the open door, and the windows that the tavern is crowded. A constant buzz can be heard from the numerous conversations going on in the place.

You walk in through the door and the place goes quiet as all eyes turn toward you. Then the place erupts in cheers. People are on their feet and you all loose count of the number of slaps on the back you receive.

As the night turn to early morning, the Rusty Dragon starts to empty until it is just yourselves, the other guests, (amongst them the young man you saved, Aldern Foxglove) and the serving staff remaining.

Ameiko stands and walks to shut the door, shutting out the night air that has developed a chill at this late hour. She goes back to sit by the bar and turns to address you all. "I have heard that the cathedral will beconsecrated tomorrow morning, but the ceremony is going to be scaled down to just a small private blessing, for obvious reasons really, I think." She smiles at you all. "You should all be proud of your actions today. The people regard you as heroes now, you know."She finishes her drink and then stands, "Your rooms are ready. You should get some rest. You've earned it I think."

Aldern stand to go to his room, declaring "Lady Ameiko, if you please, I'd like to pick up any bill that my new friends here run up. It's the least I can do for them, after what they have done."

Male Human (Taldan) Wizard 1

Ezren strides silently to the Rusty Dragon, his thoughts on the current issues his own for now. As he enters the Dragon and the patrons errupt into cheers he seems humbled by the attention... and possibly annoyed with the multitude of slaps on the back. He shrugs it off though, seeming to understand that they mean well.

He takes a seat in the back of the room, "A glass of wine please." He says to the serving girl as soon as she takes notice of him.

Later that evening after Lady Ameiko's words he takes his leave. "Yes my Lady, a good nights rest is in order." He stands and nods to the others, "Good evening to you, may you all find your rest this night."

As young Foxglove offers his coin Ezren pauses as if he is going to object... then remembering how light his purse is concedes. "Most kind of you young master Foxglove." He turns and winks to Lady Ameiko, who had already offered him quarters for performing minor feats of magic as entertainment for her guests. It seems she will make out well as he fully intends to keep his comitment to the exotic woman. "You will excuse me Lady Ameiko, tomorrow evening though... the entertainment we discussed, barring any unforseen acts such as transpired this evening of course. Perhaps young master Kendrick could join me in performing?" With that he smiles and departs for his room, the fatigue of recent days travels and todays exertion evident in his walk.

Kendrick stands and extends his mug before speaking, "It is said that there are two things by which a man may be truly judged, his generosity and the company he keeps. I'd like to propose a toast. To the fallen defenders of Sandpoint, whether they went on two legs," he fixes his eye on young Aldern, "or four".

"And next, a toast to new friends. May fortune, whether by the favor of the Gods or that which is made by our own actions, see us through to success in our endeavors."

"I am looking forward to it already Ezren, if I may call you that?" With that Ameiko walks up the stairs to bed.

Ensu perks up a bit when he enters the tavern and sees the greeting awaiting them, seeming like his normal self for the first time today, as he talks and jokes with the locals, glad that the trip at least had value to them, even if for him personally, it was a wash so far. When morning comes and the offer of the room is made, he takes it gladly after thanking Aldern and agreeing to the toasts of the bard who proved himself capable in battle the day before. It is only when he gets to his room that he allows himself to worry about just what the purpose of the attack really was. It could have simply been an attempt to disrupt the ceremony, or, as the Cheliaxian suggested, be a diversion in part of a much larger concern. Either way, it didn't look like he was going to get to see the Old Light any time soon.

Sorry to see you go, I understand perfectly however. I am right there with you with school and baby. Thankfully I can do most of my posting and some school work at work. Best of luck to you!

Seeing the crowd in the common room, and then the realization of why they are there, Galstok gets a nervous not quite panicked look on his face. As people crowd around him he starts edging his way back towards the door murmuring responses not quite intelligible to those around him.

Making his way back outside into the yard, Galstok takes a deep breath of the night air thankful and a little ashamed he fled from the room. For a short time he stands there looking up at the sky then he speaks softly in his native tounge.

in Shoanti:
I have a lot to learn from these folk, but I am not sure I will ever understand them...but that is why I was sent here. And the Chelaxian. I would never have suspected one like him. Spirits willing what he has shown is truth not some feint to divert attention. ... Not that they would know I would be coming out here. We shall see what we shall see.

Smiling at the sound of his own tounge he heads towards the stables. There at least he can be with creatures he understands and maybe bed down in the hay loft.

Mattie takes the time to bring her pony to the stable and wipe him down, give him some fresh water and hay. The smells in here remind her of home.

She looks around for a shelf to lay down some hay and make a bed for herself. She's so tiny its not hard to find a nook under the rafters to make a bed.

"Well, pony. Before I join ye for a snooze I guess I've got to go into Dragon place an' see what all the commotion is about in there. And I sure could use a dram o' somethin' stiff"

She washes her face, tidies her things and ties up her hair. Suddenly the stable door opens and in walks the huge Barbarian Galstok.

"Mercy! What the heck you doin' out here! There's a party in our honour and they've opened the taps. We oughta be celebratin' Hey - you feelin' all right? Listen if ye need some quiet I can leave ye here for some peace. Ye know ye may talk to my little hoss here. He'll listen to ye...and he don't yammer like I do. I've been thinkin of a name for him....

You know, I grew up in a big city...in a big stable actually. It was a busy, bustlin place all the time. We was always runnin' around causin' trouble. But we always had to watch eachothers' backs ye know? There was always someone to watch for. Well, today...ridin' along the road and into Sandpoint ....I experienced somethin' I never truly experienced before. I don't know. I've never felt so free in my life. I love that feelin'. The feelin' of freedom. I think you know what I mean Wildman. Tell me. What's your folk's word for "free"?

Gallus accepts the thanks of the people in the bar graciously nodding to each one in turn. He drinks conservatively throughout the night his hand still never far from the shaft of his glaive.

During the night he raises his drink and utters a somber toast "To those who fell today, let the gods honor them."

Noting Galstok I wonder what the Shoanti is up to? What would my father say to see the events of today? Me fighting side by side with one of the barbarians.

"Thank you Ameiko for your hospitality and to you Aldern your generosity is most appreciated. Hopefully tomorrow is a little less exciting then today." With that Gallus heads towards his room to clean up and get some much needed rest.

I wonder at the reason for that attack today even goblins would not attack without a reason. Unfortunately I think the coming days will reveal it to all of us.

Despite the late night Gallus arises after just a couple hours rest. He proceeds downstairs for a light breakfast then heads outside to practice with weapons as he has done for years. After about 45 mins of this he settles down inside to wait for the others to come down.

Male Shoanti Human Barbarian 2

Stopping in surprise at the presence of the halfling woman, Galstok stops and stares at this tiny woman chattering away at him. After he a moment he starts realizing she had asked him a question.

"I'm not a wildman! I am Shriikirri-Quah Shoanti!" Looking abashed for a moment he continues "I'm uh... not one much for crowds. I don't understand..." pointing towards common room, "that. No honors won or clan enemies defeated, yet... Children could have stopped those goblins yet people of this town cowered and now try to bestow acclaim on those who only did what was needed." He falls silent for a moment, "I was sent here to learn about these people, and so far outside of the fight all I find is confusion."

"It is always good to have a brother or sister to watch your back. Why is it none of yours have journeyed with you to hunt down your father's killer? Is this something that is normal here?"

"Horses I am comfortable with even if they don't always respond well to me. Dore al'Dieb would be here with me but he broke his leg on the way here, startled by a hare." Shaking his head at the thought he continues, "Yes, being in the open is the way to be. We will see how long I can stay cooped up in this city. I might have to take some time away from it before I go crazy." Saying the last with a toothy grin he chuckles. "Istiqlal, is the word your looking for."

Looking at her pony, "If you have trouble finding his name, I would be honored to help you both."

After they finish talking Galstok will climb up into the loft, wrap himself in his blankets and fall asleep.

Waking up to the sound of the hands going about their business, he will climb down and walk out into the yard. Seeing Gallus working his forms he will sit down off to one side to watch the Chelaxian.

"Istiqlal. That sounds right. Thank you, Galstock. You already have helped me. That'll be his name. And I think it fits him. Freedom for the open skys, and in Shoanti 'cause he's a great warrior - like you.

Sadly, I've been left to carry out the burden of vengeance on my own. I don't think its normal....or it shouldn't be. Same with all the cowerin' we seen in this town. It ain't healthy. I think we could all learn a thing or two from the Shreeky-Craw about standin' up and fightin' for your own."

Anyways. I'm aheadin' out to see whats up. And just so you know...I got yer back. Sleepy tight, now."

Mattie exits the stable into the evening air. She'll spend some time exploring the environs through the shadows. Then she'll join in on any festivities at the Inn to gather some news for a short time...and have a sip of something strong to help her sleep the night before the slipping quietly back into the stable for bed.

Being especially watchful, her professional skills may come in handy for the next bit of roleplay.

Quite a bit later in the morning Kendrick comes down the stairs, each arm around a local beauty.

"Mornin' everyone, Gods it's early. Everyone this is Anna" he says with a nod towards the gal on his left. He holds his gaze upon her for a moment until she gives him a nod. "And this is Io...Iolana, he says with a nod to the gal on the right.

"They came by last night in order to show their appreciation. But since everyone had gone to bed so early and I was the only one here, I felt duty-bound to properly reciprocate their appreciation. Don't worry, honor was served' he says with a wink.

"Anyway, it's time you ladies got back home, no doubt your families are wonderin where you are." He then escorts them towards the door. "But before you leave, a last kiss eh?" He kisses each of them deeply, them pats them on the rear as they leave giggling. "Be good now girls."

Walking back to an empty chair, he plops himself down in it and rubs his temples. "So what's the plan for today? At some point in time I need to find master Brodert, seeing as how I missed him last night, but other than that I don't have any fixed plans."

He reaches into his coin purse and produces a hand full of copper coins, which he drops onto the table. "This is the bounty on the goblin ears, I figured it belongs to y'all as you were the ones doing the killin' yesterday."

Closing his eyes and rubbing the bridge of his nose he says, "It's probably too much to ask, but does anyone know if they have coffee here? Or at least strong tea?"

I think Grog is going to have to get lost in the crowd. With school and a baby I'm just not finding enough time to keep up with online gaming. Sorry guys, it's been a lot of fun.

Thanks for taking the time to let us know Fraust. I totally understand. (I have a family too and it was this that really put a hold on my tabletop gaming.) Any time you feel like re-joining please feel free. Best wishes.

The door to the tavern swings open and in walks Aldern Foxglove, a big grin on his face. "Good morning my friends. And what a morning it is. The sun is out, the sky is blue and the air is fresh. The perfect day for a hunt. What do you say? Will you join me?"

Aldern is dressed in green riding breeches and wears good boots and an expensive looking jerkin and cloak.

" I return to my home in Magnimar tomorrow, and was hoping to get a bit of boar hunting in at Tickwood before I leave. I would be honoured if you would all join me. I have already arranged mounts for you all...a little thankyou gift. Oh, and this is for you all. A little extra as a token of my heartfelt thanks."

He deposits a small pouch onto the bar and it makes the unmistakable sound of coins jangling together.

After a good nights sleep, Ensu seems in a much better mood though he is obviously looking for something interesting to focus his attention on at the moment. When Aldern comes in and mentions the hunt and drops the coin, he looks up intrigued, though wondering why someone up to hunting boar couldn't find the nerve to face down some mere goblins just the day before.

Male Human (Taldan) Wizard 1

Ezren rises early in the morning. It has never seemed to matter how late he was to bed, he always woke early. A brief stop at the basin, a pour of fresh water from the urn, and a good splash upon his face of the cool water. He then takes a seat and opens his spell book...

Later, he finds himself down stairs to take breakfast. He shakes his head as young Kendrick comes down stairs with his "companions". "Tea they have." He says to the young man as he raises his own cup to his lips. "Though I think you will need more than that to replenish the energies spent last eve." He motions to Bethana, "Las, please bring young master Loreseeker here a strong cup of Lady Amekio's best tea." He turns back to Kendrick, "Who is this master Brodert you mentioned?"

What, if anything, do I know of this Brodert fellow?

As Aldem Foxglove drops the coin purse on the table and ask them to join him for a hunt Ezren seems reserved. His right hand comes to his face to stroke his beard as he contemplates the young man and his offers. Though he has, as of yet, said nothing regarding said offer.

Spoiler:
Brodert Quink is a cantankerous old man and a bit of a distracted academic type in his 50's. Brodert has been studying ancient Thassilonian ruins for the past several years and has recently become obsessed with the Old Light. He is regarded as the local sage, and is interested in finding and cataloguing anything he finds there.

Continuing his conversation with Kendrick

"You do not mean Brodert Quink do you lad?" Ezren takes another sip of his tea. "I had hoped to speak with him myself, my main reason for passing this way actualy. I am hoping he may have some text on the ancient Thassilonian dialect I might be able to study. Perhaps I could accompany you when you go to speak with him?"

Ensu really perks up at the mention of Thassilonia. "Perhaps, I shall join you as well, if you don't mind. I fear the church elders read a little too much into the construction of the cathedral, and I hate going back without some kind of new and useful information."
