Women's World Cup is about to start, here in Germany

a lot of media hype and the German Players are getting superstars. Female soccer has come a long way. Till the mid-80's the German Football Federation had forbidden female soccer.
In 89 we became Euro Champion and the players got – a dishware set! as a reward from the federation.
Still female soccer has the stigma of a lesbian sport and still many man (and women) think females should never play soccer and that it is no real soccer.
And still only 3 teams in the female Federal League are professionals (In Male soccer the 3 highest leagues are professional and the next 3 semi-professional (the players could live from the sport but are officially amateurs)
But in the last years things change, we won 2 World Cups in a row and a lot of female Players are big stars and get good comercial sponsorship. Lira Bajramaj even has a Nike commercial together with Germany's only current international Super-Star Mesut Özil

I'm having fun running it too. The most common complaint I've heard is also some groups aren't into the kingdom building, or they like a little more obvious direction to an adventure path (prefer more rails, less sandbox). There are sidebars in Kingmaker to help allow the game to proceed without worrying too much about the kingdom building side if you want - but our group has players that like it, as far as I can tell. :)

So we dropped off the kids for Scout Camp today. Youngest will be gone a week. The oldest will be paid staff for 3 weeks. I am not sure what I will do with myself.

I have a theory about favoriting: be generous with yr support in the short term, but in the long term, only keep the favorites that are of enduring importance.

We've played the first book, and liked it very much. Our DM tweaked the Kingdom building rules to make them more intuitive. Alas he's being deployed soon.
