Bad accidents suck.

Until you've been dragged backwards down the expressway by an eighteen wheeler, you haven't been in a *real* car accident!

Glad to say, I have never been in a *real* car accident. :-)
+1. Sheesh. I thought hitting a bus head-on at 40mph was bad.
I dunno, that sounds worse to me! O.o I mean, yeah, the accident was bad, but there was little momentum involved, and I wasn't injured. The one where we were broadsided at about 55-60 mph in the rear driver's side was worse as far as injuries and stuff goes. Accidents with 18 wheelers just sound so dramatic, though.

Most of them tend to be, thankfully I have never had one. knock on wood [Slaps.....Wood]

I have a buddy who had 3 of them. 3 Times he was lifewatched to a hospital by helicopter. He was not at fault, nor was he driving. He drives himself everywhere now.

Life is great. Life is way better than China life. Manila is a cool town, lot's of stuff to do, much more engaging than the cultural black hole I've been in for 9 years. Went to see an actual MOVIE yesterday, in a theater (cartoon, with my 6 year old: edit: it was her first movie theater experience ever). First time in 9 years. Saw the Thor preview. Sweet. Scared the snot out of my kid.

Aw poor thing. What did you see?

HOP.

It's an easter bunny movie. Not a classic, but the kid loved it.

And the husband only got that contract, because he called in a favor with a buddy of his at the University of Saskatchewan.

Mornin', everybody.

Good Morning (and a RSS feed would be nice on someone's blog. Just sayin)
I'd say, if there is something you want on someone's blog, you should use said blog to contact them. Also, don't assume they know how to do this RSS feed thing. If you can give them pointers, it will probably help immensely and be appreciated. ;D

I would if I could figure out how to contact them through said blog, without actually logging into Google.

That being said, I did figure out how to add the RSS feed through firefox by using the bookmarks tab. Now I will instantly be able to view new posts through my yahoo page.

This may help - tips for setting up an RSS feed on Blogger

Yeah Wal*Mart has been deluging their stores with adds for it. I have not heard much good. I might watch it in a few months when it comes out on Starz.

Are you staying in Manila? I was under the impression that you were headed back to Canada.

All I know about it was the early preview of the rabbit playing the drums was unutterably cute, but I have zero desire to see a movie about it. :)

:) Yup, and I think it was a good thing. But at the time, the closing of the company and losing the job I'd loved for three years and moving across the country definitely seemed to suck! Sorry to hear about all that Jeremy. :(

Liberty's Edge Contributor, RPG Superstar 2012

I'm pretty much moved into the apartment in Alpharetta. I took one of our cats with me, and it's taking her a while to get used to the new situation. I think the cat likes all the extra attention she gets when I get back from work.

My boss took me to an Indian buffet on Monday, and I met several people in the department at lunch. We're going to play Rock Band on the department's XBox Friday night, and the boss is buying beer. Evidently, this is something they do periodically.

Since I'll be working in an area of code very similar to what I worked in at the job I left last year, it was nice to see some familiar stuff.

I hope you all are doing well, and I hope I didn't miss anything in the last, oh, 30 pages or so.

(((Hugs))) Jeremy, I am so sorry to hear that.

Thanks! I'm looking forward to it based on what I've seen so far.

One thing I'm going to have to get used to is the age differential. A lot of the new hires are right out of college. I'm used to working with people pretty much my age. I figure as long as they're not on my lawn, we'll be good. :)

Very cool. I almost had a chance to visit with a previous job. Never did make it there and the company went out of business.

Honestly though between family and friends I have suggested a couple of times to my wife to move to Texas. She is not going for it. I tried Louisiana as well. We might pull off Oklahoma or Colorado, but that is the best I think I can do for now.

First math quiz. Five questions. Twenty points. Only twenty minutes and at the end of class, so you feel hurried to get it done because another class comes in 10 minutes.

Pretty sure I got three of them, meh on one, and one I completely bombed. It ended up being a trick question that did not dawn on me until I walked out of the building. I wanted to turn around and run back and ask if I can make a correction, but I knew better. It hung on my psyche all the way on the half-hour drive home. If I get 16 out of 20 pts, it's not the end of the world. 12 out of 20 pts and I'd dread it.

Why can't solving for X just be where the pirate's treasure is located? :P
