I got in to work tonight, and find a note in the logbook. Apparently the breakfast hostess wasn't happy with the way I left the kitchen after breakfast setup, and had the first shift clerk write a note for her. Since it won't do any good to try and explain anything to them, and I need to vent, I'll answer the points here.

(They are played with my wife, my brother-in-law - when he's around - , and our kids; sometimes other family members, too.)
In any event, they'd served us well for quite some time. It's only recently they both started being unresponsive.

- 4) Card Games (Magic, Sushi-Go, Smash Up)
- 5) Video Games (mostly various Nintendo multiplayer IPs, but also Pokemon various Civ games, and others)
- 7) Comics (Fables, among others)
- 8) Literature and Drama (she was an English and Theater major; so all of them)
- 9) Films/Television (Indiana Jones, Star Wars, Marvel stuff, Dark Matter, Firefly, Clone Wars, and so on)
- 10) Martial Arts (karate and Taekwondo)
- 11) look I'm sick and exhausted, and don't feel like typing more lists by looking around our bedroomThe problem is that she likes those things with me (or our boys, or her brother; none of which really go well in the Abscondi cave).
But, you can feel free to comfort yourself with the idea that she's less geeky, since she's about the single most responsible adult I know, and likes her geeky things as a form of stuff extensively shared with her chosen loved ones.

Just so peoples don't worry that my local car looter didn't return and do me in, it's just "one of those weeks" for me: I'm supposed to update a 30-lesson course (no small feat in a week already), then I got asked to write a brand new architecture lesson for another course (a fairly daunting task). Still do-able in a week, except I learned that:
I'm going to warn you right now, lisamarlene: It's going to be a heck of a week for me. I may be too exhausted to run on Saturday. I'll keep you informed.

Tuesday: Impus Major school meeting, Fallout Boy concert
Wednesday: Impus Minor optometry appointment, then Serpent's Skull for the first "real" time in 3 weeks, so I can't cancel
Thursday: NobodysWife is out, so I desperately try to catch up for the week
Friday: A massive medical appointment for most of the day for Impus Major
Saturday: Crimson Throne
I'm going to warn you right now, lisamarlene: It's going to be a heck of a week for me. I may be too exhausted to run on Saturday. I'll keep you informed.Have a happy FaWtL week, all!

Netflix show that is bizarrely wrong...watch at your own peril...Big Mouth.
My wife and I were supposed to attend an event. I went early to help with setup, and then she fell down the stairs to the garage and ended up not coming (she's fine). She ran across Big Mouth. Binge watched the entire season. Next day, forced me to watch it with her.
This show is what happens when Family Guy, South Park, and Rugrats have an orgy and the resulting offspring of that has sex with a demon. THAT offspring is Big Mouth.
Maybe they are the same.

I am, generally speaking, uninterested in having immortal nuns in our house. If they are here, it's kind of creepy, and I'd rather them leave.
(Exception: unless they have a very distinct desire to be/religious focus upon being house cleaners and cooks, for some reason, and/or they are willing to share the secrets to their immortality, or otherwise guarding my family, ala "guardian angels" - you know.)

Captain Yesterday fun fact: Some of the meanest, most foul mouthed people I knew was a group of elderly nuns that would come into the thrift store I worked at.
They were wonderful.

He was one of them to talk at our Pre-Cana, about "mixed families" (i.e. those of Catholic and non-Catholic pairings; because he was a child of such a family). Swear words in church, you guys! With ribald jokes!
... it, uh, it was a surprise to pretty much everyone.

Well, so far I'm all of 35 minutes ahead of schedule for my "week from Hades".
One of my favorite office mates ever was a Christian Brother at Saint Mary's. 6'6", 280 lbs, with a mouth like a sailor. He believed in "tough love", and would heap amazing abuse on students who he felt weren't trying hard enough.
And if a student was trying, he'd give the student the robes off his back.
Amazing, wonderful, generous, kind man. With not a single ounce of tolerance for laziness or self-pity.
(And LM, don't worry -- I'm planning on buying lunch and the dungeon is already prepped, so the main risk now is that you guys do nothing post-dungeon. But it's a dungeon, it's a lot of fights, and at 20 minutes per turn Whingy Wizard can probably make the dungeon last the whole session.)
