I got in to work tonight, and find a note in the logbook. Apparently the breakfast hostess wasn't happy with the way I left the kitchen after breakfast setup, and had the first shift clerk write a note for her. Since it won't do any good to try and explain anything to them, and I need to vent, I'll answer the points here.
I'll spoiler it so you can ignore if you want to.
** spoiler omitted **
TL;DR, I did everything like I always do (i.e. everything I'm supposed to do), but today that apparently was annoying.
I have had days like that. Sorry man. I hope things get better.

That sucks, my dude. Maybe she's just going through her own stuff and mistakenly took it out on you? Either way, been there and empathize.

I'm still using my original controller for my Xbox, for eleven years now.
Original or 360?
Cuz my 360 one only recently started giving problems...
Yeah, our first nunchuck shuffled off the mortal coil about eight months ago. This one just did just now. Eleven years sounds about right? Or is it ten?
(Can't remember when the Wii came out.)

Tacticslion |

Wait.
You had two controllers.
At the same time.
Well, yes!
For mutli-player games.
(They are played with my wife, my brother-in-law - when he's around - , and our kids; sometimes other family members, too.)
In any event, they'd served us well for quite some time. It's only recently they both started being unresponsive.

That said, I wonder if this whole enterprise is you trying to cover up for your wife's lack of geekiness...hmmm...
Pfffffft.

Dagummit, she's hot.

Aw, man, she mentioned, like, half a dozen things I missed.

Just so peoples don't worry that my local car looter didn't return and do me in, it's just "one of those weeks" for me: I'm supposed to update a 30-lesson course (no small feat in a week already), then I got asked to write a brand new architecture lesson for another course (a fairly daunting task). Still do-able in a week, except I learned that:
I'm going to warn you right now, lisamarlene: It's going to be a heck of a week for me. I may be too exhausted to run on Saturday. I'll keep you informed.
Have a happy FaWtL week, all!

TL, do you have two immortal nuns attached to your Nintendo, or have I been reading things wrong?
... what?
EDIT: Okay, so this was meant as a joke response to what I'm pretty sure was joking post. However, then I re-read it and realized it looked like I was baffled and/or unpleased. Lousy lack of tone. While that was kind of correct (I am... impressed... that you somehow got "immortal nuns" from "nunchuck lasted 11 years before it stops working") I am not so baffled that my only possible response was "... what?" - I just thought it was funny. Anyway, no: I do not have two immortal nuns attached to my Wii. I mean - just for clarification. You know. :D

Friday: A massive medical appointment for most of the day for Impus Major
Saturday: Crimson Throne

Okay, how can Seven Deadly Sins flip from kind of creepy* to stupidly sweet, and then to irony(+)super awesome in the span of 30 seconds.
And then end on a tear-face. :'(
EDIT: Oh, come on, me: it's, like, right there. Blech.
* The whole Ban/Elaine thing is, while understandable in-universe, suuuuuuuuuuuuuper creepy from a meta-perspective, given what they look like.

okay, you can either have the unabscondable geeky wife OR the immortal nuns.
You CANNOT HAVE BOTH.

Netflix show that is bizarrely wrong...watch at your own peril...Big Mouth.
My wife and I were supposed to attend an event. I went early to help with setup, and then she fell down the stairs to the garage and ended up not coming (she's fine). She ran across Big Mouth. Binge watched the entire season. Next day, forced me to watch it with her.
This show is what happens when Family Guy, South Park, and Rugrats have an orgy and the resulting offspring of that has sex with a demon. THAT offspring is Big Mouth.

Maybe they are the same.
Although probably not, with kids and all.
Well, she is Catholic, the vow is technically called "chastity, not "abstinence," sooooo.
She is not - well, to the best of my knowledge! - a nun, though her mom used to think she might become one, considering she used to love to volunteer for stuff.

I am, generally speaking, uninterested in having immortal nuns in our house. If they are here, it's kind of creepy, and I'd rather them leave.
(Exception: unless they have a very distinct desire to be/religious focus upon being house cleaners and cooks, for some reason, and/or they are willing to share the secrets to their immortality, or otherwise guarding my family, ala "guardian angels" - you know.)

Captain Yesterday fun fact: Some of the meanest, most foul mouthed people I knew was a group of elderly nuns that would come into the thrift store I worked at.
They were wonderful.
My wife was traumatized* by a super-strict nun when she was a child.
... she was a math teacher.
(It is why my wife still doesn't like doing math, to this day, despite being naturally better at it than I.)
I can see the smug look on Freehold's face, right now.
* Well, okay, for a certain value of "traumatized" - there weren't any beatings, or other such similar awfulness. Internet communication is haaarrrrrrd.

One of the most vulgar explicitly religious person I've ever met was a simply delightful priest. He was one of them to talk at our Pre-Cana, about "mixed families" (i.e. those of Catholic and non-Catholic pairings; because he was a child of such a family). Swear words in church, you guys! With ribald jokes!
... it, uh, it was a surprise to pretty much everyone.
:)
Very nice fellow, though.

I'd say the same (well except for the expletives), but:
a) I'm sick and got to recover, still (so, you'd have to wait a few days)
... and...
b) YOU'RE ON THE WRONG COAST, DANG IT
EDIT: I mean, I don't even know that many expletives.

Well, so far I'm all of 35 minutes ahead of schedule for my "week from Hades".
One of my favorite office mates ever was a Christian Brother at Saint Mary's. 6'6", 280 lbs, with a mouth like a sailor. He believed in "tough love", and would heap amazing abuse on students who he felt weren't trying hard enough.
And if a student was trying, he'd give the student the robes off his back.
Amazing, wonderful, generous, kind man. With not a single ounce of tolerance for laziness or self-pity.
(And LM, don't worry -- I'm planning on buying lunch and the dungeon is already prepped, so the main risk now is that you guys do nothing post-dungeon. But it's a dungeon, it's a lot of fights, and at 20 minutes per turn Whingy Wizard can probably make the dungeon last the whole session.)
