You betcha. Sadly, however, I do not have the complete run. Got all the way into the World's End storyline when I stopped. Still, that is one of my all time favorites, right up there with 1988 four issue Martian Manhunter miniseries, Kingdom Come, Miller's Dark Knight series, and Batman: The Killing Joke.
Pick up Wolverine: Old Man Logan if you can find it. I HATED Wolverine with a passion, but it was a damn good story that kinda brought me around.

I really, really enjoyed that run of Wolverine. I'm a wolverine fan though in general... but I can't say I'm crazy with some of the stuff they've done with him recently.

I just got a really fancy volume of Dylan Thomas poetry at B&N. I love that poem in particular.

It's good that you love that poem, or we might not be friends anymore. I haven't read much poetry recently but you may have inspired me to pick it back up.

It has been ages since I have read any poetry. I think I might pick up a volume or two.

I dunno, I have a hard time believing that. Then again, every time I try to picture you doing anything I see a gender nuetral codex from "The Guild" healing people and having panic attacks.

I dunno why?

Yes, that's what I meant.

My interest in it waxes and wanes. One of the items on my Christmas list (which I got) was a volume of Anne Sexton poetry. Kind of a dark Christmas present, but I'm glad I have it now.

Story time...

Spoiler:
Many years ago I was working at Village Inn as a cook. We hired this girl that ... well, let's just say that she might be able to match wits with a turnip. For example, she claimed to be a wiz with accounting yet didn't know what a "credit" or "debit" was. She was from California and thought that Chicago was in California. I said, "Seriously? You think the Chicago Bulls are based in California?" And she said that they were.

Anyway, I forget exactly how the conversation was going, but she was bragging about just how smart she was and told me (to my face) that she was smarter than me. Dumbfounded I asked her what she based this on. She replied -- "poetry". Wasn't sure what to say after that...

welcome back to the land of the students. Get prepared for a culture shock. I challenge you to find someone who actually has a view on things while you are there.

Wait. This is college. A lot of folks tend to have 'views' there. Or am I not understanding what you're saying?

I blame codeine bliss.

In Iowa there is not much for serious thought appearing in students at community college level, or in the lower classmen at the four year universities.
Since I'm slogging away at a community college, we'll see. The only one I've seen given their opinion quite vocally was the street corner preacher across the street from the bookstore quoting bible verses and telling us the end is near and we must turn from our sinful ways. Blah blah.

wait. Did he see you? If so did he burst into flames upon laying eyes on the unholy one?

I love poetry, wish I was good at writing it. Father Leafy used to read it to me when I was a kid.

Spoiler:
Oh and my co worker finally got here:2 hours late.

And did they not promise that one "sekrit" would be revealed in a blog post, written by Lilith, and to be published on Wednesday?

Today is Wednesday!

I missed 50 pages?! Sorry for being MIA. Been sick, then had inventory, and was sucked into a Scrubs marathon. :D

I hope everyone is doing well. I am enjoying a lazy day off. Hubby has done all the running for me, I have yet to even get out of my PJ's.

Not gonna go back and read 50 pages. Sorry if I missed anything important.

Speaking of idiots inflicted on the nation...

I recently got around to watching the Roast of Donald Trump that I DVR'ed. Watching 'The Situation' do comedy. was. very. painful. I couldn't bear to watch; I had to fast forward his segment. But boy did they roast on him hard there. He may think it's all in good fun (and most of it is supposed to be), but he's probably too dumb to realize that there's a lot of truth in what the other roasters were saying.

Marlee Matlin's appearance as a roaster caught me off guard. She was a good sport and quite funny. Someone sign her up for a comedy flick.

Snoop was awesome. Gilbert was awesome.

The Situation bombing.......sweeeeet.

~thinks~ Most anime just ends wierdly, so the anime that is not too wierdly list must be short.

Well, all such attempts are relative, but relative to me:

Not too weird: I say "WTF?" a couple of times.
Too damn weird: I get angry that I actually stuck with it and watched the whole thing. "WT" is left out of most ejaculations.

vs

Not weird: The ending is satisfying, if not revelatory.
Awesome: The ending is revelatory in some way.
