Aaaand... it's the first rain of the season for us. On a Monday morning.
NobodysHome the psychic predicts traffic chaos and mayhem this morning, because water falling from the sky is something that none of us could ever have been prepared for.
Indeed, I could have taken jacket but the weather forecast hadn't mentioned rain. It was a very slight rain so I went through without my sweater getting soaked.

Question: can people see when they have PMs? Is there a little red dot for when they are new? I cannot. It appears on my iPad and really nothing else that I frequent, and I use my iPad infrequently at best. I’m trying to isolate any issues, and it’s a bit weird that I seem to be having these if others are not. I started a thread about it some time back, and got a suggestion, but it didn’t work. I’m wondering if something else is going on.

You may want to empty out your browser temp files just to see if that clears it up. Start with the small steps before assuming something bigger.

Of course, DLLs have long been a problem. Every new release of a DLL increases the size of the previous one. Unless you REBASE the load addresses of the DLLs every once in a while, they will crash into each other. Meaning that the next DLL loaded will overwrite the end of the new DLL, making that DLL operate improperly.
N-no... can't play...missing DLL file..games...no longer work....sound..off....missinf..files...DLL...no..ERROR...ERROR..BSOD....NOO OOOOOOOOOOO!

Using Chrome incognito, like Drejk, and:
1) I still get the same demand for buying "private mode" (though it took a little longer) on the link
2) I have a red dot, but so many other things are either obnoxious or frustrating to use
... so, I'unno. I wasn't necessarily assuming it was anything big - just acknowledging it was on my end and trying to figure out anything that makes it happen.

Our VDI environment broke. Root cause is the incorrect installation of new certificates on a handful of servers, but nothing the vendor is saying is adding up. According to them, it was broken Friday night, but we had people in it and working on Saturday, and a couple hundred people were in before 8:30am local...but after that people couldn't get in...from a change made Friday...
Hence, we're all skeptical.
Also, our CIO may have cussed out the first tech the vendor put us on with. He also may have told the account manager we were going to start looking at other options.
It was definitely a multi-bowl of popcorn kind of call.

That you can do. But don't give breaths, because it's too complicated.) and TX (Okay, here's how to do splints, Israeli army field dressings, reset a knocked-out tooth, and assess for stroke, and we're just getting warmed up!)
It can't be because of a difference in litigiousness, because half the billboards here are for ambulance chasers, so what gives?

good samaritan laws vary from state to state. Were pretty protected in New York, but the path to prove good samaritan motivations can be a thorny one.

We're a massive multinational corporation, so every rule is, "As conservative as it needs to be to satisfy ALL international requirements."
So it's every office.
And yeah, we have much better workplace rules than most places because we follow EU standards because it's easier than tracking separate standards.
But then California rules pop up and we all get stupid.

My family talked us into waiting until Pebbles can talk and understand what such a big trip means before the Erudite family packs up and abandons the States.
So...it is no longer "f~&# this s+~! I'm out" but "f#~& this s#*# I'm researching fiscally responsible means to escape."
I think they think if I wait long enough I'll abandon my grudge with the States.
This from my mom whom I reminded of an incident from when I was 13 until I was 35 on every birthday of mine. (She took my brother and uncles and cousins visiting from Germany for the only time in my life to Wet and Wild on my 13th birthday but I had to go to school to not miss my oh-so-important lessons - on the f!&&ing second day of class.) Not meanly. It just became a joke to call her on my birthday and ask what she's giving everyone but me.
She thinks time will let me forget a grudge with an impersonal government. Ha!

My mom forgot me at Pizza Hut before going to see Bambi, I never saw it until I had my own child.
My parents got tickets for Noah's Ark for my birthday, I was so excited I stayed up most of the night and fell asleep and then no one woke me up and so they left without me. I've still never been to Noah's Ark (by choice actually, I went to a different water park in Rockford, and hated it and solemnly vowed to never go to another water park ever).
I was sick for my birthday party after being forced to march behind a pink manure spreader in a parade and fell asleep and everyone ate my Batman birthday cake.
